Fake (false capacity) flash memory products sold on eBay continues to grow: usb flash drives, mp3 mp4 players and memory cards. SOSFakeFlash has published a status report you need to read:
You will find many of the questions you have answered in this report.
eBay Fake Flash memory seller lists cover 754 ids. 761 are on file. The priority is to investigate and capture evidence. The first mandate of the FrankenFlash Project is to preserve the truth.

Behavior of eBay, Paypal and fake flash sellers have changed. There is a little too much “cat and mouse” going on as far as SOSFakeFlash is concerned. The trio have only one interest, profit at your expense. This may sound harsh but after two years, there is far to much data on file to support our claims.
Sadly eBay members continue to be naive. They do not understand that 80% of a flash memory item is based on the flash memory chip. When the bid price is compared to the true size of the memory chip, they ARE getting what they pay for! Read KittyFireFlash’s message below. You can not expect to buy a 64GB flash drive for $25 US! See Kitty’s message to understand why.
The problem for fake memory on eBay is now in it’s 7th year! We have been fighting the issue for the last two years. Fake flash memory sellers, eBay and PayPal take this site very seriously. For eBay and PayPal, the objective is to wiggle away and to hide the evidence. Please do not rejoice when eBay suspends a seller. If they do, they have the opportunity to remove all listings for the seller, sweep the fraud under the carpet and strand eBay members trying to learn the truth. For this reason, we sometimes delay alerts. It is necessary for victims of a seller to have the opportunity to contact buyers, to inform them of the fraud, to send them to PayPal to file disputes and to COMPLAIN to eBay! You need to help by contacting other buyers who left positive feedback for your fake flash seller. It increases the pressure, it documents when they do follow up feedback indicating they have been scammed.
This holiday season consider offering a gift to your fellow eBayers. There is a degree of risk involved, but it defines who you are. If you believe in truth and honesty, if you have integrity and are against fraud and understand the horrible consequences of data loss, consider auctioning your fake flash item for a very small amount. Make sure to indicate in the title of the listing:
xxGB Fake MP3 MP4 Player
xxGB Fake Memory Card
xxGB Fake USB Flash Drive
In the listing description about your item, you can include your story, who you bought it from, the testing results and if you like, a graphic image with our address:
see http://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/ for help! And the program H2testw to test. It is free!
We ask that you use a graphic because eBay bots and spiders can not read the contents of a graphic file. You will get some bidders. You will have to educate them and possibility remove their bids. Please use the language of your eBay Country, you need to reach eBay members in your country in their language. The objective is to have these listings embedded along with those of the fake flash sellers. People sort by lowest price first, make sure you stand out! Could eBay get angry with your for taking the message inside of eBay? Yes. Many of us have done listings to warn others inside of eBay. People still do, but we can not give details. It makes a big difference and reduces the profit fake flash memory sellers make. To prevent a huge increase in victims for the gift giving season we need you to help. To educate others inside of eBay, to hurt where it counts, the profits for all who engage in this fraud.
What can you say to a person who reports they lost all their files, their drawings, their proposals, their presentations? Company data? Their memories of an important occasion such as a wedding or a birthday? SOSFakeFlash is not fighting this issue, solely for the money people lose. It is about losing things that are precious and can not be replaced or restored. This is not a victimless crime. It has tragic consequences and it traumatises people.
We are in the season of “Good Will” – do something positive. Become a star shining in the darkness, stand against evil and corruption. The members of the FrankenFlash project come from many different backgrounds, nations and beliefs. They all have one thing in common, they care about others! Do you share this?
SOSFakeFlash Nasty Fake Flash Memory eBay Powersellers on eBay has started. It will continue until until we have covered all of them them. Most have a long history of fraud, sold thousands of units and earned sales in the hundreds of thousands of dollars.
With the holiday season, and the current global economic issues, many consumers are shopping on the internet to try and save. Unfortunately most do not know the real costs for flash memory chips and assume they are cutting out the middle men by shopping online. We should know, we all made this mistake. The profit margin for selling flash memory based items such as usb flash drives, mp players, memory cards is small. Don’t expect a 16GB usb flash drive for $20US or a 32GB memory card for $30 US! As for MP Players, the story is even worse.
The majority of victims will be shoppers on eBay. This time it will not only be the buyer who will suffer, but the person who received the item as a gift. Data will be lost. Files will disappear. The person who receives such a lethal present is not going to be very happy with the person who gave the gift.
SOSFakeFlash fears there will be another overload of incoming reports in January. Our advice is that no one buy any mp3 mp4 players, memory cards or usb flash drives on eBay, 85% to 95% of all these items are fakes – false capacity.
If you have been a recent victim on eBay, please post a notice on your company bulletin boards to warn others. Leave your telephone number and or your email address so people can contact you for information during lunch hour. Times are hard, everyone is feeling it, help by preventing your fellow workers from becoming victims or giving a person a gift, they will regret.

eBay fake flash memory sellers : Sellers * to K and Sellers L to Z covers 754 sellers.
If you don’t see your seller on the current lists, report immediately! Use the Report a fake tab . Priority is given to fake flash sellers not on the lists. New lists will be published. Warning! Do not use these lists as a guide to buy from a seller, they document who has been caught. If the seller is not currently on the list it does not mean the seller won’t be.
If you want to stop the sale of fake flash memory, contact people who bought from your fake flash memory seller and warn them to test! Only you the victims, can stop them. Do not assume someone else is doing it. Work together with members who confirm they received a fake.
We want to tell your stories! SOSFakeFlash is planning several weeks devoted to publishing your experiences! Send your documented experiences to SOSFakeFlashDrive@gmail.com
This is YOUR chance to reveal your personal story! Please send a “nom de plume”, a pen name along with your eBay id. SOSFakeFlash respects the need for privacy, we discourage the use of eBayer id’s in stories to protect your identity. eBayer stories will be published in late December 2009 .
Watch out for eBay fake flash seller who demand you change your feedback for a refund!
SOSFakeFlash is noticing a disturbing trend – victims who leave negative feedback, then suddenly revise with glowing praise for the seller. Is the refund worth it? How did you like being frauded? Do you feel it is right to lead others into the fake flash memory nightmare, so long as you get your money back? If you don’t have principals and integrity, this site is not for you. SOSFakeFlash is not here to help people who betray their fellow members by revising feedback. Many of the early pioneers who founded this project, never got a refund. They fought for you and felt you, the victims of the future were more important than money. Many today are refunded. Remember the sacrifices made by early victims. This site is for people who have integrity, believe in justice and who refuse to allow fraud and greed to rule.
SOSFakeFlash asks that people do not change their feedback to get a refund. You betray everyone! Why should we make the effort to provide information if you chose to think only of yourself?
In changing your feedback for a refund you allow these fraudulent sellers to continue. The spriit of the FrankenFlash Project is to think of everyone and not ourselves. We have a zero tolerance policy for eBay fake flash memory sellers.
SOSFakeFlash exists to help victims who have the courage to fight back. Avoid leaving negative comments in giving positive feed back for your refund. It does not help and no one really sees your faint hearted effort. Those who do read comments like this, have little respect for you. Be honest and truthful. You have the power to help or to harm others. Refunds are easier to obtain now, show respect for the early victims, they did not receive refunds because they refused to be black mailed. They fought for you, the new victims. Honour their sacrifice for you.
