Registered in the United Kingdom, couchaction engaged in several fake flash memory selling sprees. A buyer discovered the memory card was a fake, several months after purchase. Results and seller addressing information are on file with SOSFakeFlash. The victim has tried to contact the seller without success several times – ignored by couchaction. eBay allows a 45 day claim window, in the case of fake memory, a winning proposition for both eBay and the seller.

Did couchaction stop selling? No. After a while this seller started again. Eventually in a desperate attempt to liquidate remaining stock he decided to unload them on eBay as ‘faulty’. couchaction decided that there was nothing wrong with selling fake capacity, what SOSFakeFlash calls – DATA POISON.

The victim snubbed by couchaction whose only interest profit or at the very least reclaiming the investment spent to purchase the fake memory cards, decided to report in to SOSFakeFlash. The seller was listing again and the victim alarmed. In an unusual twist, the victim decided to copy the seller on the communication the report.

Do you know what happened?

Poof! couchaction suddenly withdrew the listings. If the victim of couchaction had not reported in, those listings would still be available on eBay. It appears eBay sellers who knowingly sell fake memory are not really worried about eBay, but they are worried about SOSFakeFlash. Sad. eBay does not protect buyers from fake flash memory, only former victims of flash flash memory do, or bother to care?

While eBay might limit you to 45 days to claim, SOSFakeFlash has no such time window for you to report your fake and expose a seller’s fraud. We have received reports against sellers as old at 18 months after the sale. Did we publish against the seller? Yes.

SOSFakeFlash documents eBay seller id’s who have sold fake usb pen sticks, memory cards and mp players. The lists become a permanent record against a seller id. Should a seller attempt to rename the id (often done), SOSFakeFlash will issue a new alert and also update the lists to the new id. The recorded information in the databases is transferred to the new id. There is no escaping the long arm of SOSFakeFlash. eBay sellers who sold fake flash memory don’t get to tip toe into the night or escape their history of fraud.

You can help build the connections by sending in your information to SOSFakeFlash. Sellers frequently change addresses, this is not a problem so long as frauded eBay members continue to report in. Often eBay sellers in their hurry to change addresses make serious mistakes, leading us to more fraudulent sellers!

Received an address in Chinese? Not a problem. You can copy paste into google translation. If it is printed on a label and you know someone with OCR software you can scan, pick up the characters and then paste into google translation. If you don’t have OCR software for a shipping custom label, find someone who reads Chinese and ask them to translate the address for you.
