Crises on Ebay For Fake Flash Memory Products Sold In 32GB 64GB 128GB 256GB – SOSFakeFlash Reports

Fake MP Players, memory cards and usb flash drives are flooding eBay! The fraudulent sellers have become bold. Both Kingston and Sony are having their brand names damaged by forgers. The situation is out of control. eBay is unable or unwilling to stop the fraud?
As SOSFakeFlash and the FrankenFlash project attempts to combat the newest tidal wave of fakes being sold on eBay, fake flash memory sellers are changing their strategies. More private listings, more buy now listings and more eBay seller id’s.
As everyone knows, there are counterfeit rings operating on eBay and they have many id’s. Often they use several in parallel to sell their fakes, others are sleeper id’s. The most serious threat is from sellers based in the orient – they sell in unbelievable volume. Naive eBay members continue to assume they can purchase a 128GB flash drive for under $30 US. Similar lack of understanding on flash memory chip pricing causes others to buy fake memory cards and mp players.
The current sizes for false memory are 32GB, 64GB, 128GB and 256GB. eBay members need to read Global Report – eBay Fake Memory 2008 – 2009 .
eBay members are leaping to buy an impossible dream that soon becomes a nightmare. The project estimates that 1 in 10,000 fake memory items sold, leads to a dispute either in eBay or Paypal (dispute method dependent on eBay country of registration and item listing). One “Buy Now” listing can create over 750 victims. The id’s involved usually manage to have several before they are caught and suspended by eBay. Immediately upon suspension, eBay removes all traces of the seller id’s deeds. The listings disappear from frauded buyers on their won lists. Only the efforts of the project, manage to capture details of the scamming activities.
The recent explosion in fake Kingston DataTraveler usb flash drives sold on eBay is impossible to understand. Kingston is doing their level best to fight back against counterfeiters. They need your help and are offering you help in return.

FakeMemorySentinel is publishing on suspected sellers. If you have a suspect seller, please leave a comment on their Notice Board. Type the seller id, in the search box to see if they have already released a message to consumers on the internet, first.
If eBay chooses not to invest manpower to patrol for fake memory sellers, please email them. Call them if you are able. In flooding their email, you force them to expend energy. It claws back from their profit margin. It also send a very clear message of how members feel. This is important. Why?
Because eBay has already been forced to take control of dispute resolution (ebay.com) from PayPal. That says a lot. The FrankenFlash project has no intention of reducing pressure. If you are a victim, you need to add your voice and also add additional pressure with your protest.
Under no circumstances should you violate the postal laws in your countries by using the postal system to return the counterfeit flash memory items. In many cases you will not receive a valid return address, the seller may deny receiving it and you are guaranteed the item will be sent to a new eBay buyer – recycled.

says it all. You are the ones who stop the fraud, not eBay.
