FrankenFlash Project Launches New Sites To Meet Demand For Help With Fake Flash USB Pen Sticks – Flash Cards – MP Players

In recent weeks existing websites run by the FrankenFlash Project have been overwhelmed by consumers seeking help for false capacity flash devices purchased. The demand caused the international site to exceed it’s monthly bandwidth. Currently run by volunteers who fund expenses from their own pockets, the available sites have been limited. The issue needed to be addressed, quickly.

eBayers Against False Capacity Flash – Access Demand Too High

The FrankenFlash Project’s – eBayers Against False Capacity Flash website is temporarily closed until January 2009. The demand for information on Fake Flash devices on eBay has been too high during the month of December 2008. We blew the bandwidth quota. Arraugh!

Fortuantely SOSFakeFlash is the main site, eBayers Against False Capacity Flash is a mirrow with additional features and translation for our international members. We apologize for the inconvience.

eBayers Against False Capacity Flash Website Gets Face Lift

The FrankenFlash Projects eBayers Against False Capacity Flash website has just received a major face lift. It has been updated to the new Atahualpa 3.1.1 theme.

1. New series of alerts are coming this week on eBay Fake Flash sellers. The eBay Fake Flash seller’s list will be updated.

2. A year end report on all models by seller will be published. A master report – all models on file for a fake flash seller caught is in progress – it will include investigated fakes and models sold that we don’t have a confirm on. The purpose of this second report is to help people match a drive they bought. Data may disappear on eBay but it does not with us. If victims report the information we need, we run to collect data before sellers or eBay attempt to erase it.

3. If you have received a fake, please report in using the “Report A Fake” Tab to make sure your seller and model makes it onto the list. We are delaying the next updates to give people a chance to report in.

4. Coming soon, more information and aritcles on the subject of fake flash. Stories from victims are planned. The technical issue of bits and bytes to understand capacity size will also be explained.

5. Reminder to people who are able to repair their fakes, please send your solutions so we can add to the fixfakeflash site.

6. Question: Is anyone interested to know how many countries have received fake flash drives? Which countries are reporting in to us? How many have been investigated by country? comp_usb was an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives. Based in the United States comp_usb sold almost 500 flash pen drives with an advertised capacity of 8GB to 16GB in nine different listings.

wm2008wm Ebay Fake Flash Seller Alert China

wm2008wm was an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives. Based in China wm2008wm is estimated to have sold over 205+ drives. wm2008wm no longer offers fake flash drives but has switched to selling music CD’s. The last flash drive sold was on December 5th, 2008 the first on September 14th,m 2008.

bargain.here is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives. Based in Hong Kong, bargain.here sold a 16GB flash drive investigated and confirmed fake. The number of pen drives sold is not available – all evidence removed from eBay.

Operating from Hong Kong this seller has sold 1000’s of flash usb pendrives On October 2nd we had only one model investigated usb flash drive on file. As of December 18th, 2008 we now have six and an MP Player too! Please see this collection.

bluetech_networks has been identified as an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives. Based in Canada bluetech_networks sold almost 100 fake flash 16GB pen drives in one model.

mdongdisk119 is an eBay Fake Flash drive seller. Based in China, mdongdisk119 has unleashed a plague of reprogrammed counterfeit usb flash drives on the global. More than 1100+ fakes have been sold so far – there are many victims about to suffer the consequences of data loss. Raking in a profit of more than £10730 so far, this seller demands buyers leave positive feedback as a condition of refund.

dai_xinyu is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives. Based in China dai_xinyu is using private auction listings to hide the selling of false capacity flash drives. Negatives are coming in from eBay members but the item numbers they are complaining about are hidden from inspection. dai_xinyu pads his postive score with cheap memory card reader sales. Currently this seller is offering three 16GB flash drive models and has already sold more than 1380+
