eBay Protecting Buyers For Fake Memory Cards? Nothing Is Further From The Truth! The Deception Continues. Internet News Releases On Fake Flash Memory Often Weak And Afraid To Speak The Real Truth On The Flash Memory Scam Crises. FrankenFlash Project Fights Back And Exposes The Fraud With Help Of Frauded Buyers – The Power? Victims Of Fraud Who Document And Fight Back. An Interesting Report On SanDisk.
Posted by KittyFireFlash on February 12, 2012
SanDisk, Memorette, Samsung, Transcend, Kingston,Sony are brand names who suffer from eBay’s persistence in allowing listings for counterfeit flash memory. This is not a new issue, flash memory fraud on eBay has a long history, it is over 10 years old. Recently an amateur photography website published an interesting article: SanDisk cracks down on fake memory cards.
This site mentions that SanDisk actively patrols internet websites for their products. That is true, but despite their efforts there is little they can do to stop the sale of counterfeit SanDisk flash memory products. It is sad and it demonstrates how brand names for flash memory are so vulnerable.
Corporations, we all think they are powerful. They have legal action, they have armies of lawyers. They are unfortunately too big for their own good, elephants afraid of their own shadows, afraid of the postering between companies of similar size. Why do we say this? What do you think SOSFakeFlash as been doing since 2008? Do you know how many alerts have been issued against eBay sellers, capturing seller listings for fake SanDisk items? It is well documented at SOSFaKeFlash. How many warnings have been issued at FakeMemorySentinel since 2010 capturing eBay listings for SanDisk flash memory listings?
That is when independent sites come in, they have the teeth and the will to report and expose where corporations do not dare. No brand name has ever contacted SOSFakeFlash or any of the other sites in the FrankenFlash project to protest. It speaks for itself. While they can not acknowledge us any more than we can them, they are secretly cheering and relieved. In fact, they pray daily for help, for sites to expose any site or seller who blackens their name and reputation. They have invested so much money to make quality products, they strive so hard. You can imagine how they feel when people rip them off. Who pays the price for the fakes? Who are the victims of this nasty war and lucrative business in counterfeiting for flash memory?
- Buyers
- Ignorant resellers.
amateurphotographer.co.uk deserves credit for warning amateur photographers. Unfortunately they do not know the deep and in depth story on flash memory fraud, especially the hottest item – flash memory cards.
They said:
Online auction website eBay issues advice to customers, saying the problem affects a ‘very high percentage’ of SanDisk cards.
This is eBay spin, eBay propaganda. It is a lie. It is what eBay would have you believe. 5 years later SOSFakeFlash should know.
SOSFakeFlash asks:
Advice? Really?
Do they bother to mention the danger or possibility of acquiring a fake in listings?
What about patrolling the listings for flash memory? That might have helped. It might have saved hundreds of thousands of buyers during the last 10 years. Do you know what happened to them? The treatment they received from eBay and or PayPal? We do. They are on file with SOSFakeFlash. What do you tell a person who bought a SanDisk memory card on eBay that turned out to be both a fake capacity and counterfeit? Especially those who lost their photos? The holiday trip, gone up in smoke? The 1st birthday party for their one year old?
Just how many buyers bother with an eBay guide before they bid or buy? Let’s be very clear here. Nobody bothers to read eBay Guides. Buyers on eBay are there to shop. Not to read some boring guide. Let’s face it, we live in a time starved world. So when do buyers read eBay guides?
Buyers start hunting for guides in desperation AFTER THEY HAVE BECOME THE VICTIMS OF FLASH MEMORY FRAUD on eBay.
If eBay was really interested, don’t you think they would insert Guides of value into listings and searches to help out? They won’t. That would make buyers aware. They would stop their bidding fingers, think, research and frankly reconsider buying on eBay in the first place. Ouch! Ah, now you have the naked truth.
The UK website for amateur photographer had to tread carefully. So many internet sites do. They are afraid of getting into trouble, upsetting someone. They actually believe the press from respected companies, whether brand name or eBay.
Fortunately websites in the FrankenFlash project do not have to worry about that. We have collected evidence, we have it in our databases. We have victims recorded, we have proof. We are most happy to expose and to ram it up where the sun don’t shine if you understand what this cliché means. We are not going to “pussyfoot” or to be clinically nice in our words. Fraud is fraud, plain and simple. Buyers who become victims need to be heard. The only way to stop the fraud on eBay and elsewhere is to expose it. Graphically.
So, SanDisk fraud is being dealt with on eBay? Sorry, SOSFakeFlash does not agree. Will we and other FrankenFlash project sites response to the challenge? Absolutely.
Currently the worst offenders for SanDisk flash memory fraud is coming from eBay sellers registered in China.
SanDisk And eBay. Chinese sellers do not stop scamming:
It is blatant and it is bold. SanDisk stopping them? Well they are squeezing eBay’s nuts. eBay naturally doesn’t like it, but they are being forced to actually hire, employ people to look for listings that mention SanDisk. eBay is not happy about it either. The last thing eBay wants it to spend money by hiring employees or reassigning existing ones to deal with fraud. It affects eBay’s bottom line, their profit margin. While SanDisk squeezes eBay’s precious jewels down below, so are our sites. All project sites will continue to squeeze, especially with the new darker phase approaching in the project and we will do so until they are bowlegged. Why? In respect for all buyers who have been frauded on eBay during the last 10 years for flash memory. For everyone who lost their precious memories to eBay fake flash memory cards. Something a refund can never replace or reconstruct. Because eBay knew about the issue for years and choose not to protect their members, they wanted the fees and they treated buyers like dirt. It was and is the biggest mistake eBay ever made.
If it was up to SanDisk, no eBay seller would be allowed to list their products unless the items were certified as genuine. The same applies to Kingston Technologies, , Memorette, Samsung and Transcend for memory cards.
Victims of flash memory fraud on eBay, don’t forget and they will not be kind. They want eBay to stop allowing the fraud to continue. Most of all? They expect eBay to unarchive their databases, recall all listings for flash memory sellers during the last ten years, cross reference against known eBay sellers for flash memory fraud, contact all of the buyers for the seller and….
To issue an immediate refund and full refund with shipping and handling chargers and with an apology.
Also to ensure that nobody can list flash memory on eBay without first providing evidence that the items they intend to list are genuine full capacity flash memory.
Unlike the amateur photographer site we don’t have to be diplomatic or choose our words. We can be honest, straight forward and simply report the truth.
If you bought memory cards on eBay you are at serious risk. Please ensure you test your memory card prior to using it H2testw.
It will help you determine if you received the advertised capacity. It will help you avoid losing your photographs and memories.
If you think there are not a lot of eBay fake flash sellers you need to see the SOSFakeFlash lists.
The horrible truth remains in 2012, 95% of all eBay listings for memory cards, usb flash drives and MP Players are for fakes. Little has changed.
SanDisk and other brand names need your help. Report eBay sellers to them. Make sure you leave negative feedback immediately upon discovery for an eBay seller. Never cave in to changing your feedback. Make your voice known. If you purchases with a credit card, call your credit card company and ask them to do a reversal for fraud. This is the best protest, it hits eBay where it counts, their profit, their sale. If eBay is reacting, it is not to buyers protesting it is due to the amount of money their are losing because the credit card companies are taking the money away from eBay to protect their clients.
Do not be naive in thinking eBay is really doing something about the problem. Ask yourself, why SOSFakeFlash is in it’s 5th year?
If you are a frauded buyer for flash memory you have a part to play in this dark drama and you do make a difference when you choose to say NO! to fraud. Be creative, chose your personal style. Make your voice known as we have.
If you are a newbie, you have a lot to learn. If you need help you can start reading our crash course guide and reference list:
You won’t find anything on the internet so jam packed with information to help you and bring you up to speed.

A lot of internet sites will tell you there is a problem about counterfeits for SanDisk, Memorette, Samsung, Transcend, Kingston. The most burning question is, what are they doing to help you? Just knowing is not enough. You need information to test, to make sure your item(s) are real or not. You need to know what you can do when they are not.
