Sorry moderator! Please delete my previous post. It’s wrong. It is just a draft because of my bad English. It should not be posted. I wrote it, while the test was still running. And showed exactly the same scam as described here. Only 2 GB!

    i have also a 2.8″ touchscreen player from andy-wjm ..
8gig only 2gig real .. checked with open player and product code on nandflash.
will give you all a little help, with a little selfmade productcode decoder.

u can check ur real nand flash size on cya.de/nando

  3. nane said

now i have four 2.8″ touchscreen players from ebay seller andy-wjm ..

resume after checked hardware with my product code decoder on http://cya.de/nando ..

    1. 2gig and hardware decode = 2gig
    2. 8gig and hardware decode = 2gig (but softinfo shows faked 8gig)
    3. 2gig and hardware decode = 2gig
    4. 8gig and hardware decode = 2gig (but softinfo shows faked 8gig)

only player 1+2 have samsung flash and other pcb !!
player 3+4 have hynix flash nand and exactly the same board and hardware.

have anyone buyed a player from andy-wjm, with more than 2 gig checked hardware ?
he sells 2,4,8,16,32 gig player, but i think: he sells only faked nand flash with real 2 gig !

dont catch over 2 gig, or u have many crash problems if you will store more than 2 gig !

  4. InspectorTech said

    HI Nane,

For almost all mp players, 2GB is usually the size most people receive. The lucky ones get up to 4GB. A lot depends on the prices paid for them, but not always.

There is little consistency for the flash chips used in fakes, even if the models look the same. Any low capacity chips they can find are used. You’ve just proved it again in your tests. It makes it hard to post solutions by ebay fake flash seller. For the solutions at fix fake flash site, showing pictures of the items is not helpful.

The same problem exists for usb flash drives. A person can buy several of the same model and find they have different usb flash controller chips and different flash storage chips inside. Unfortuantely many people will test one, find a low level format programme and use it on all of them. Big mistake without checking each one, might restore one or two, but destroy the rest because the chips and controllers inside were different.

andy-wjm looks like your standard ebay seller that is doing feedback manipulation by selling cheap items for pennies with free shipping.

People should buy some of these cheap item just to drive up this cost of doing business.

  7. nane said

    now we go in details
3 fakes in one item !

andy-wjn (not paypal) refunded the purchase price without deduction. Nevertheless, I have rated him negatively. Finally, it is fraud. He has offered to me by email (not via ebay) EUR 10,– if I withdraw my feedback. But I am not corrupt. Unlike eBay, I do not want to earn by a impostor. Anyway, I have no other explanation as to why eBay does not respond!

  9. MdC said

I’m still undecided whether contact the Police. Perhaps even corrupt. The adress I have picked out (if anyone needs): http://www.police.gov.hk/hkp-home/english/contactus/index.htm#e_form

And if someone needs: I have his address. He sent them to me so I can send back the item. The address on the envelope was also faked.

Looking into the feedback history for this seller makes one ask themselves the question is this seller buying feedback through a network of ids? Is this seller operating as part of a ring or selling under multiple accounts?

For example this user has purchased many items from andy-wjm & best-e-bay-sell & best-phone-sell …. why does someone need so many iphone skins etc?

    http://feedback.ebay.ca/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewFeedback2&ftab=AllFeedback&userid=maxou2105&iid=-1&de=off&items=200

    andy-wjm & best-e-bay-sell & best-phone-sell appear to sell the same products.

A detailed look at the feedback history for andy-wjm could be very revealing

    Hi there MdC,

Well done – leaving a neg and refusing to fall for bribery or blackmail by fraudsters is something we wish all victims of fraud on ebay did! Ebay and PayPal can be very slow in responding to things – staff cuts this year have made things worse!

If you have not done so yet please send the test results from h2testw (and other information we need to add your evidence to our database) to the email address given on the report a fake tab.

Whether or not it is worth contacting police is something under debate. I take the view that the more fraud reports they get the better. Although the HK police don’t respond much to people who report fraud we have reason to think they may be quietly working on it in the background.

i think, the center of all its http://www.anyts.net

    cry or laugh ?

  15. fightflashfraud said

    Hi Nane,

Most of us wonder whether we should laugh or cry at what we find! If only ebay (and other sites) had a proper team of paid fraud investigators who knew what they are doing…

If they can’t find anyone else that is capable of fraud spotting they could send job offers to the frankenflash project – we’ve been trying to do their job (for free in our spare time) for far too long!! I’m sure that some project members would be happy to take up such employment on either a part time or full time basis if we were given the power to act on what we see!!

  16. MdC said

He gave me a different address:

    Zhou Zhangyi
    Room 19A,caihui Tower
    Rainbow xindu Caitian Road
    Futian District,

He has also operated the now-closed eBay-account Xie518.

    also closed: anydepot.com and anyts.com

  17. fightflashfraud said

    Thanks MdC

http://www.dnsstuff.com looks like it could be quite useful – although I found a few places to investigate IP addresses and domains I hadn’t come across this one before.

nand flash checker has new index, for german and english language.

    http://cya.de/nando/

  21. fightflashfraud said

    Cheers Nane,

The nand flash checker may prove useful to people. We all agree that laughing is much better than crying – but occasionally we do despair a little! A number of project members are “out of service” at the moment due to a range of different issues (computer related, work load, family problems and health problems) so the team is rather thin at the moment.

We need as much help as we can get!! We need people to do all of the following:

Warn sellers who may have bought in all innocence from fraudulent suppliers

Warn buyers on ebay who bought from known fraudsters and get them to report in by emailing the information requested on the “report a fake” tab at sosfakeflashdrive to the address provided

Leave a comment about suspected fraudsters on the “Report supect ebay sellers” page at fightflashfraud if searching our blogs shows no posts about the seller in question

    A new Mail from him:

    Hello,
i will pay more 20 eurs to you, would you please cancel the negative?
    thanks

    …and eBay hushed…!

[xhtml does not work for me]

  24. fightflashfraud said

    Hi MdC

If trying to bribe you with a payment of 20 euros to change feedback doesn’t demonstrate the seller’s guilt, I don’t know what does!

  25. MdC said

In my feedback I accused him as a fraudster. I think it says a lot if someone violate eBay policies like this. But we are no judges. We only gather facts. That is why I noted it here.

  26. nane said

    @mdc
for me the same news, will refund me all money + 20euro

I think, we have already reached something.
cashflow is falling and more buyers want refund after proof.

  27. t53864 said

I am thinking if all the buyers were notified to check their products, complaint to the seller demanding refund & negative feedback if it is no good.
Then, this seller starts to offer 20euro to everyone.
He/she will go broke very soon!

  28. ITguy said

If you look at ANDY-WJM feedback you would ask youself the following questions:

Why do significant numbers of listing start with 1 bid @ $0.01?

How can this seller make a profit if selling thousands of items for less then $0.10 with free shipping?

Why is there a pattern of a small number of buyers buying hundres of the cheap items?

  29. nane said

    news again from andy-wjm ..
    original email txt:
    —start
i will pay $40 to you, can you please cancel the negative?
    thanks
    —end

i love my true work :)
many present buyers claim back to her money, there I am sure.
    what cannot happen the better.
    thus we will defeat fakes.

all we need is: negative feedback with buyed and tested mem and also link to my “cya.de/nando”

    sample:
my 32gb pmp checked has only 2gb! check your own on cya.de/nando

and the fakeseller will die :)

He has a strong ally: eBay! – I once used a tool and calculated that he makes turnover + / – 100.000, – EUR per month! This means that eBay + / – 16.000, – EUR deserve with him. He can afford it. Perhaps eBay paid for it. Incidentally, eBay has responded to my complaint. They think that it is not against eBay policy, if this impostor offers 20, – EUR. I wonder who is the bigger gangster …

    The Tool: http://www.wortfilter.de/Tools/sellerstats/sellersales.php

  31. ITguy said

I’m not sure how accurate the analysis tool is as a significant number of this sellers listings are “private”. Thousands of the items sold go for $0.1 and there is the possibility that the cheap items are not actually sold as the buyers are “friends” of the seller.

  32. MdC said

Yes, maybe, ITguy. I do not understand how he does it. Actually, he can not survive it. But he is alive. And I think he lives well. His bribes are likely well spent. But even if the tool is not exactly working, the result says a lot. Even if deducted the result by 50%, he remains a giant. I am convinced that the seller is with his (presumably) many accounts one of the main sources of income from eBay. We do not get broken him. Perhaps someday one of his facades. But then he already lives somewhere else again…
