I ordered one of the 32GB devices listed. Unfortunately I found this site too late to keep me from ordering, but when it arrived I was armed with H2testw 1.4 and tested the device. It showed only 3.5GB of of usable storage space. I then followed the procedures above. Ebay sent me a snarky message about needing to contact the seller directly before they could do anything, but then the seller refunded my money, giving the line about it being the suppliers fault, etc. He mentioned the negative feedback, but did NOT ask me to rescind it. This morning I got an email from Ebay saying I had not paid for the item and had to pay by the deadline. I’ve sent an email to the seller again over this, but wondered if anyone else had had this happen and any suggestions for responding to ebay?

Hi Jon,
It is an attempt by the seller to get his listing fees back and also be nasty about the negative feedback. You need to report it to eBay and show that you paid. The unpaid item strike is not unusual, fake memory sellers do this sometimes.

Here is how this guy maintains a high rating, by offering “incentives” to people to remove negative feedback. He refunded my money almost immediately after I posted my feedback, but a month later he sends this to me:
Dear friend,
Sorry for the trouble.
Have you receive my emails?
For i am not get response from you.
Could you kind follow-up the feedback for me?
Once you follow it up,i will make the refund and send a nice gift to you.
(or refund other 15usd to you)
Hope you kind understand my situation.
Thanks for your help.
Please kind do this for me.
Please enter your ebay, find the “Site Map” –>”Follow Up to Feedback Left”
Then find the the feedback you against us,choose the “Follow up”
Then please attach the following words:
“”I authorize eBay to REMOVE the feedback””
Wait for your help and reply.
Once these words shows on the feedback, please notice me.Then i will make the refund and send the gift.
Wait for your reply.
Good day!
sincerely

It means the seller is politely asking you to report him for feedback extortion: http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/feedback-extortion.html

I feel a fool and only saw this site now. Wish I had seen it before! I ordered an MP3 player fro this seller on eBay and it was ‘faulty’ when it arrived. I sent it back (at my own cost). Tam received this and apparently sent me another one which I never received. He strung me along (had to wait 28 days before I could say delivery was not made) and then promised me a refund. Nothing. No MP3 player. No refund. And since it exceeds the 45 days on eBay and PayPal, I can’t get anything from them either. 😦

Billie,
Unfortunately, that is their M.O. This is the way they operate.
But, there is something you can do to fight back. Work to get this seller suspended.
1. Report the item as described in this post:
https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/fight-back/
2. Warn other buyers. Get them to test their items. If they are fake, tell them to dispute the purchase with paypal or ebay. See this post:
https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2009/09/11/how-to-warn-others-on-ebay-as-a-fake-flash-angel-fight-back-against-fake-mp-players-memory-cards-usb-flash-drives-a-guide/
3. Try calling paypal and/or ebay and pleading your case directly. It has worked for others.

Billie.
If you used a credit card to pay paypal you should contact you credit card company and ask for a charge back.
Billie said
Thanks Randy. Unfortunately I used a debit card, which is why I am in this mess. It’s my fault entirely off course for believing Tam in the first place.
Billie said
Forget to say, red, thanks. I will report them. I am also complaining to PayPal via email. I can’t seem to get ebays address though. If anyone knows their complaint email address?
Jon said
Billie,
Have you left feedback yet? This guy has actually offered me $50 to remove my negative. Given negative feedback and see what happens.
Randy said
Jon,
Did you report the seller for “purchasing feedback”? This is ebay policy violation and may get ebays attention – a phone call may get more results than ebay automated complaint system and you can also complain about the fakes when you talk to someone.
red said
Billie,
If possible, it’s better to call then send an email as Randy states.

Hi, guys,
I purchased the 32 GB MP4 player from tamstore003 (looks exactly as the one pictured above) and, as Jon says, H2testw reports 3.5 GB OK.
Problem is, all fixing software I’ve tried reports less than 2 Gb. I’m not sure if I want to low-format the device, since I’m losing almost 2 Gb.
Anyone encountered this problem? Any ideas?
Thanx in advance,
Sergi
PS: tamstore003 is no longer registered in ebay, but I got my refund via paypal.
