If you buy usb flash drives, MP Players or memory cards from eBay sellers with low feedback scores or feedback currently recorded as (0) you are at serious risk of acquiring fake flash devices. As SOSFakeFlash, FakeMemorySentinel and the FrankenFlash Project increases the pressure to stop the sale of fake capacity flash memory on eBay, fraudulent sellers are fighting back. How do they fight back? They open new children ids, they don’t dare to risk their main id! eBay can track this practice, but you the buyer can not. Do not be naive enough to assume eBay will contact you for a fake flash memory seller or cancel your purchase and refund you. Instead they will remove the child id, suspend it and leave you and your purchase winging in the wind. FakeMemorySentinel issues warnings, it captures eBay listings. If we capture an listing, it becomes internet history. If eBay removes the listing, we have it. Just like SOSFakeFlash, we don’t remove a listing or a capture just because a seller does not like it, especially when they are annoyed that we actually captured proof of what they listed. FakeMemorySentinel is not the real site eBay sellers have to worry about, it is SOSFakeFlash. If a seller is recorded here, the seller is confirmed for fraud, for selling fake flash memory. That record is permanent. The seller will end up on the lists. The fraudulent eBay seller will have an investigation raised. The fraudulent seller will have the items sold catalogued and exposed for a permanent internet record.
