Toward A Fake Flash Drive Free World – No More Counterfeits – No More Data Loss

garysin2008 Urgent! Ebay Fake Flash Memory Seller High Alert Devious – China. Victim Documents Real Capacity By Opening The USB Flash Drive.

Posted by KittyFireFlash on December 23, 2009

Garysin2008 is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake – false capacity memory) Flash USB drives. Registered in China, garysin2008 has sold more than 1000+ fake 32GB usb flash drives in only 11 days using private auctions. Currently garysin2008 is not listing any flash memory items as buyers are beginning to discover the awful truth.

A recent victim to be known as “Gadget_Guru” not only tested his fake from garysin2008 to find he had received a 4GB flash drive (actual capacity), but documented for everyone to see at:

http://www.flickr.com/photos/28502132@N05/sets/72157623051191966/

You will find his photos helpful. He took the flash drive apart to see what the flash drive storage chip was and also the usb controller chip used. Once again we see, MW6208E, one of the most common usb controller chips used to create false capacity usb flash drives sold on eBay. Do you know why? The chip has flaws and allows itself to be reprogrammed to report non existent capacities. It a favorite of eBay fake flash memory sellers.

Please examine the photos. If you are having difficulties trying to repair a fake capacity usb flash drive, it is important that you open it to verify the actual storage chip and usb controller involved. Some times you might not find a tool to repair. Be patient and continue to search over time. Some victims have to wait from 3 to 6 months for a tool to be released on the internet that will recognize the flash storage chip.

Times are changing, more 32GB and 64GB fake usb flash drives are appearing on eBay. 16GB fakes are still active but are less attractive to fake flash sellers as the prices they can get are lower. Remember, for flawed usb controllers, it is possible for a devious seller to programme to any false size desired. The false size is usually the one people are most interested in purchasing.

Buyers of 32GB and 64GB advertised capacity, please read these three articles immediately!

Garysin2008 has been suspended by eBay! Thank you to everyone who fought against this id! If you are a victim, you will not find any information on your won list any more. eBay removes the details.

This is one of the reasons sosfakeflash exists! We preserve the information. If you bought a fake from Garysin2008 please file a dispute with paypal immediately and report in to us to raise the counts against Garysin2008.

Do not accept NO from paypal! they have 180 days to raise an investigation against a seller. Demand your refund. No ifs, buts or maybe’s. Fight and refuse to be frauded!

eBay members once again have demonstrated how they can stop a fake flash memory seller!

Keep fighting and remove this disgusting plague from eBay!

I need some help with an ebay\paypal claim with garysin2008. I was able to file a claim through ebay\paypal for non-delivery before they shut garysin2008 down however I have since recieved the memory stick which does appear to be fake according to h2test software. My problem is that if I close my “non-reciept” dispute with paypal they will not allow me to re-open another dispute for this item. At this time paypal is reviewing my claim and will only allow me to “close the claim”. I cannot add the additional information which would show that he sent me a fake memory stick. What should I do to recieve a refund now that ebay has shut garysin2008 down?

You are caught between a rock and a hard place. If you close it you are correct in not being able to open again.

Dedes, you are honest with integrity. People who follow the fake flash commando route, just say they never received as it is easier and avoids a lot of the torture paypal inflicts on some unlucky people.

PayPal has a flaw in their system if you are not permitted to add an update. Your case falls into a grey area. What would all the victims before you say? Leave it alone and stick with the existing claim….

You filed for non receipt of item. Did you receive the advertised size? If you did not, then you have non receipt of advertised memory. Your xxGB never materialized.

Can’t say if I doing a “King Solomon” regarding your case or thinking eastern.

There was a story told to me when young about the differences in perception on truth. It goes like this:

Once upon a time there was a King in the East, wandering in his garden. Suddenly a man dashed by running very very fast. The King finished inspecting his garden and climbed up to his pavilion to admire it from a far.

Soon an angry crowd appeared also running with haste. They asked the King: “Did you see a man running through your garden?”

The King replied: “No. I have not seen anyone run through my garden since I’ve been sitting here…”

He is also selling under gary2009@gmail. I was able to get Ebay to refund my money, which I think they did by mistake the same day I called because I had other cases of fraud that were closing that day. This fellow had the XXXXs to email me and say “Believe me, item has been shipped to you, when you get the item, pls kindly repay me.” I did some research and found all of this. If you are having issues getting Ebay to refund your money escalate and keep escalating, just sight all the claims and you might get it refunded. Dont let them tell you that they cant do it right then because as I found out they certainly can. Good luck…

    Hi Dectective7,

    You are correct.

The garysin2008 has done a lot of harm to eBay members. I hope he is reborn as a fake flash memory chip!

I know InspectorTech would enjoy reconfiguring him to a terabyte of fake capacity – repeatedly.
