Hello

I thought I would let you know as I wanted it entered into the database as evidence and so that you can post an alert.
Also, I have had feedback from other user’s with similar issues and who I have advised about you’re website.

SharpEdge said:

I asked for a replacement (tested BEFORE shipping) .

My email to seller:

Dear mememao9898,

Received item – thanks.
However, copied 9Gb of data but upon retrieving -corrupted.
Verified data as good ,re-copied but again, upon retrieval – corrupted.
Seems that after 4Gb – corrupts.
Checked with a recommended usb testing tool which verified that it’s only 3.8Gb storage capacity.
I would like to return the item for replacement.
Please supply full address for return and confirmation of you’re return policy.
Could you check the replacement and verify that it is 16Gb BEFORE sending.

Regards

– SharpEdge

SharpEdge observed:

As you can see , no option but refund even though I asked for REPLACEMENT rather than refund.

My email to seller:

I see that the refund transaction is already progress.
I did not really want a refund but a replacement.
Anyway ….thanks .
I have been to the Post Office and the cheapest shipping/postage option available is at £6.19 (this is more than half of the cost of the device !!!).
Please let me know if you are willing to reimburse/credit and then I will send/ship the faulty/fake device.
Also, how will this be paid to me when you receive it ?
Please advise and I will send you authentication of post/shipping and tracking of the parcel.
Or better still, please send another replacement (checked and verified that it is definitely 16Gb and I will pay immediately – see my profile).

Sellers response:

Dear SharpEdge,

Dear friend,

Thanks for your reply and your checking with the post office.

The postage cost in your palce is still too high to us.

If we get it back, lessing the post cost and our human resource cost, we could not get much back.

And we have got one other device which got the same problem as yours back already.

So, in this case, please keep it.

Thanks

FAKE 16GB 32GB 64GB – Conversations Between A Fake Flash Seller and A Victim – The Truth About the Scam Exposed

Posted by KittyFireFlash on June 5, 2009

Why are fake usb pen sticks, MP players and memory cards sold on eBay? The false capacity ranging from 2GB 4GB 8GB 16GB 32GB 60GB 64GB 120GB 240GB 260GB 360GB to 500GB sizes.

One size is advertised but the true size is much smaller! You buy a 16GB MP player but only get 2GB or 4GB of storage. You buy a 16GB usb flash drive and get 1GB or 2GB of storage, maybe 4GB if you are lucky. You buy a 16GB memory card and only get 2GB or 4GB. When it comes to usb flash drives and memory cards, the digital alteration of the controller flash chip is deadly – you lose your data! Do the ebay sellers know what they are doing? Is there a reason?

Recently SOSFakeFlash asked for stories, experiences. We received one, an explicit conversation between a fake flash seller and a buyer victim. It dates to the summer of 2008 and nothing since has changed. It is published exactly as received. It might be long but if you want answers start reading! Read the rest of this entry »
