Many people have lost money, some a lot. But….
It does not matter what price paid for the drive – who can put a price on data copied to it? Documents. Photos. Memories? If the source data has been deleted – these files are gone forever. The loss will mean different things to different people.
We are unable to reveal exactly what the data loss can mean or where it has occurred. A lot has to remain confidential. People’s jobs are at stake. Some could face court martials. There is no reason to make people victims a second time – the experience was traumatic enough.
It is frightening to learn just who has been a victim of counterfeit flash drives. Causal users to the most savvy about technology, together they tumble in the fake flash pit. Quiet a few have been rescued by the fake flash angels. No, we can’t elaborate on what that means – only almost all are victims of fake flash drives. It is not just buyers of fake flash on the warpath, sellers are too. Both are working together. Why? If you are a victim of Fake Flash it would be easy understand. If you have not been a victim, think of how you would feel if someone took a hammer to your hard disk or shredded or snapped all your data cd’s, dvds and old floppies – how would you feel about the loss?

Unfortuanetly I can not resend as it is illegal in the uk to send counterfeit goods.
Having said that my contractual agreement was and is with you and your company not you supplier so i there for request you resend the money to me.
If you arrange for collection and pay for this service then I am happy to hand the item to the courier as then this is your reposnisibiliy and your request for the goods to be shipped, but I have to check this with my lawyer first that I am not breaking the law.
But this should not cause any delays in you re crediting my paypal account. You will see from my feedback that I have never issues with any supplier,

Not only that, an eBayer sent a very disturbing response from this seller which we need to examine carefully for it’s validity. The seller threatened him with “death”. The details are not known yet. However we have two investigated fakes for this seller see the link on the left column called

I ask a seller a question, regarding his 32gb and 64gb to be ture capacity and guess what this seller responsed:
“Dear friend, Thanks for your question. These are 2GB upgraded memory. It means that the available memory is 2GB, but it shows 32GB or 64GB in the computer. All of Dhgate sellers are selling upgraded usb drive. Frankly there isn’t any real 32G or 64G memory card in China, the biggest memory is just 16GB. Look how sad this is. And I still do not understand why ebay aren’t closing those fake seller account down.

I see… I’m glad that I only bought 1 item from qiongzhuzhijia. He said that he has shipped the item and he gave me the tracking number. As soon as I get I will check it and see if it’s fake or real! The other question is, will it be possible to get my money back if those drives are fake? Through ebay or paypal?

You can get your money back through paypal if you paid it from there provided it within the time frame. I won’t be surprise if they are fake and from mainland asia. From the response I got from the seller it likely anything above 8GB are fake.

The seller seems to be trying to appear to be based in Australia, though actually based in Hong Kong. Inexperienced Ebayers could be misled.
The seller is keeping things private – usually a sign of fraud when selling flash drives.

Basically the seller is saying yes I can put up to 32gb, but after 8gb you can’t open the file! woohoo..so my 24gb of data can’t be open! Hahaha that is just bulls**t!
I really want to see ebay doing something about it. I email then on 19 October, and yet till now I still haven’t heard reply regarding why ebay continue to allow fakes usb drive.

To Ed and your link in amazon.com, it is very hard to tell, there are no comments yet for the 16GB model. Several for the 8GB one and people are pleased. The issue is, the price for 16GB is very low – almost too good to be true. I’d wait to see comments from buyers.
Only, unlike eBay, you can’t contact buyers to “Share” the buying experience to find out what they think if they test and in daily usage. Odd as this might seem, it is one of the very good things about eBay! You can share and trade experiences on a product.

I do not know if the flashpens offered thru amazon are fake or not, but I have bought thru ebay and a seller from uk (see http://cgi.ebay.it/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&rd=1&item=220298879620&ssPageName=STRK:MEWA:IT&ih=012) ,at a price equal or lower, a few 16GB USB Flashpens and they are not fake, they are not the fastest on the markets but they are not fake.
The seller sent me also a quality report analysis made by an independent institute, and offer full warranty and full refund if not satisfied.

to help you. If you read on PayPal at this site you will quickly learn you are not dealing with a person or persons. But a mindless robotic emailer. They just have people fill out email templates with keywords. It is cheaper and does not require hiring a person with intelligence. It is becoming a favorite game now to avoid refunding people.
It is not clear if you got this response from your original paypal claim or not. Please research the site, many members have left information on what you can do. We also have information in the left menu under paypal claims.
To get a refund means having to fight. Some got their refunds quickly, some have had 3 month battles and a sea of emails. Much depends on whether you want to let Paypal and the fake flash seller keep your money….

Hi, just received a SONY MICRO VAULT 64G from ebay UK seller ads0s0. My suspicions where aroused when I tried to copy files over and got corruption etc. Finally looked up on google to check this drive and came up with your website. (Why did I not look before??? I didn’t used to be so gullible , SONY only do up to 16GB at present), have downloaded the checking software and am busy going through it now. Please advise any potential buyers of this ebayer. As he has at least 10 sales to his name, but and this is what fooled me has sold completely different goods so has good feedback, although only 26 at this time (22nd Dec 2008). Not sure if the seller is legit or just clever. Please advice.

Add some more Fake Sellers, bought 5 flash drive and everyone of them is a fake. Ebay and Paypal doing nothing to help. Over 23 days since I started filing claims and these sellers are still active on Ebay:

If it is possible, please with care, open the drive if you can. Then look for a little square chip. That is the controller. Write down what it says. Then look for the long chip, that is the flash drive. Write down what it says. The most important information is the controller chip. Based on that you can find a software program to help you. See the site http://fixfakeflash.wordpress.com/ afterwards. Look to see if there is information. The main post can help you.
Some time they reprogram with false VID and PID. This why in your case you must carefully try to open the drive and find out what it is. This will help you to see if there is a solution. The most important information is the controller chip, not the flash drive. Reflash programs especially if most recent will detect the flash drive chip you have.
Let us know your results.

Make sure you file a claim with paypal if you have not. Also, do you still have the packaging for the item? The envelop? Compare it with the address you may have received from paypal. 99% of the time the addresses don’t match or are not the same.
The paypal ones are usually wrong and incomplete. Designed by the fake flash seller to “punish” an ebayer for filing a claim. Naturally when a eBayer breaks the postal laws of their country by returning the fake/counterfeit it goes to never never land and the fake flash seller can for once tell the truth:
“I did not receive it!”
So no refund. The ebayer fake flash victim is even poorer now.
You may have to fight PayPal and eBay and email them as much as they email you. They know only too well about the problem but like the fake flash sellers they want to keep the money. Sad.
If you have the addresses on the seller send them in or post them at the site for all to see.

That’s so true, I just click and investigate the first seller “barcookbie” and I cannot believe how many connection he has with so many other sellers.
This is a TRUE scam! It an abusive to ebay feedback system. Why can’t ebay even figure this out! It just took me less than 2 minute and you can find so many connection!

The project has been saying for a long time, that eBay is insincere. Since spring of 2008 people have tried emailing, calling eBay. Over and over again.
It is amazing! They don’t go after the suspect sellers but they do have time to tie eBay members to the stake and light the match for trying to help and to warn eBay.
They can be mean and vindictive. Let’s face it – they don’t want the truth to be known.
Most people when they first begin to warn eBay actually have faith and belief that they will address. Saddly they soon learn the ugly truth. If a person persists, or moves things to the next level as you did (make it simple – spoon feed them a list of obvious suspects) – their little claws come out.
eBay is determined to protect her little brood of fake flash sellers. We’ve done a lot of reflecting recently and researching.

There is a lot of money involved. And to get into China, eBay may have mortgaged whatever little soul she had. As a result she may be dancing on hot coals. She can not afford to offend the big powersellers over there. She can no longer ignore the project. What to do? So it seems eBay is lashing out and of course in the WRONG DIRECTION!
ethics and money don’t mix well – and for eBay from our observations, those two words can not be in the same sentence.
Your wanting to vote with your feet – exit eBay for good is not new. So many victims have done just that.

I would like to bring to your attention a massive scam that’s happening on Ebay at this time – My Ebay username is Matt.Steele & I bought a 32gb transcend V30 (green) stick 2 weeks ago from a seller in Hong Kong – this was sold as genuine by the way – The seller is able to fake the stick into thinking the stick is 32gb but after testing I soon discovered the stick was not 32gb & with a tool called H2testw 1.4 – I found it was only a 3.4gb stick – so I left bad feedback & have now claimed via Paypal & notified your worldwide offices 2 weeks ago..
I have now uncovered a massive ring of ebayers selling this fraudulent stick & notified ebay of my findings well over a week ago but they have put a suspension on my account as they obviously want these sellers to continue selling which is why I have called your offices today as action needs to be taken
I would like you to see the following item numbers on ebay as these are current – I have also reported to ebay these items but they are still up for sale

so I have got a suspension & unable to contact other memebers who have got conned by this fraud – but am hoping you have the power to shut it down

I am very ashame of ebay action. I strongly cannot understand why they suspended your account for the sack that you were only raising an issues and warn them about suspected sellers. Why are they contradicting themselves, they advertise to be safe and if member suspected anything, to report to ebay straight away. And yet you did that, you contacted ebay and let them know your suspision. Why did they take it the other way? This can only proof they are only keen to hide the evidence as long as they can.
What was their reason behind the suspension?

they advised that i had breached their policy – i have tried to get more info but they have not come back to me – i must have sent ebay 10-20 mails & not a peep out of them – my suspension was only 3 days so ill check later as it should be back..

The item I bought from ren-ren-buy this morning has disappeared from my won list. I paid for it straight away like I usually do. Now I don’t think I will get it and it seems it’s probably a fake anyway. What should I do? All his listings have gone but he still seems to be a member so ebay haven’t de-registered him.

So my theory is that my mail to transcend has had the needed action – but i will find out tommorrow when i speak to there gen,manager – not the best of news for me as it seems the active listing of transcend products are no more & all offenders are no longer registered – but as hellopetpet had no active listings today i believe no action was taken so we may have got rid of a few but my list is still at large with some of the others i named in not only a feedback ring but also getting them by fake sticks – I will now work overtime to get the rest rid so i can concentrate on other potential set ups
