Situation is getting even worse on eBay. Suspended sellers are opening new id’s to continue. Observed are the reappearance of old sellers under new id’s (don’t ask how we can spot them). The fake capacity is escalating from 32 GB to 64GB and 128GB. The prices are ridiculously low. Less then $35 for 64GB or 128GB?
eBay fake memory sellers are adapting to your fighting back.
-
Delaying shipping of item to use up 45 day claim window
-
Using Buy Now Listings, often more than 100+ sold per listing
-
Singapore registered eBay sellers, list massively in buy now, then leave eBay within one to two weeks of selling. They restart under a new id.
-
Macau is now another point of origin. Avoid any eBay seller registered there selling flash memory products, especially usb flash drives.
If you are interested in fighting against the fraudulent sellers, are a registered victim, please contact sosfakeflashdrive@gmail.com
In the interim, please patrol for any 32GB, 64GB or 128GB flash drive listings on eBay.
Report any suspect sellers here in comments, they will be picked up by search engines. It will help the vicitms to be find this site.
Click on the bottom of the listings and report them to eBay. Go on record. Capture of your communication and sent it to us. If you document, eBay will have absolutely no excuse, they have been warned. The FrankenFlash Project will publish your warnings on the Internet to document.
If eBay sellers are adapting to us and becoming even more sneaky and diabolical, we must adapt too.
Calling everyone to action: Fake Flash Angels, Fake Flash Commandos.
Expect this week to be busy for alerts, we finally caught up with the backlog!

SOSFakeFlash’s data for December 2009 reveals the top 25 countries where eBay Members have been frauded. Data exists on 821 eBay sellers. The current team stuggles to investigate and document fraudulent sellers.
eBay refuses to address the issue and protect it’s members against fake flash memory items such as mp3 mp4 players, memory cards and usb flash drives.
Buyer protection is a myth, a sham. There is no such thing as buyer protection on eBay. If sellers are being suspended or stopped it is because individual members, disgusted at the magnitude of fraud have chosen to fight back. They are contacting other eBay members to “share their buyer experience“.
Paypal in an attempt to pacify angry eBay members has been issuing “courtesy refunds” to victims. They clearly stipulate they are doing this as a favour, not as an obligation. Is this fair? Victims, while relieved to receive refunds from PayPal, are angry. They do not feel that it should be a “favour” but see it as their obligation!
Is your country among the top 25?

SOSFakeFlash is very worried about this. If you can, before making a present please test the item. Read H2testw 1.4 – Gold Standard In Detecting USB Counterfeit Drives. yuanhuaii aka yuanhuayh is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake – false capacity memory) Flash MP3 MP4 players. Registered in China, yuanhuaii has changed his eBay id name from yuanhuayh.
Almost one year ago SOSFakeFlash published:Alert – yuanhuayh – Ebay Fake Flash Seller MP Players the difference is, this time yuanhuaii aka yuanhuayh has been using private auctions to get away with fake flash selling. He carefully leveraged his return by selling:
USB 2.0 A to MINI B 5-PIN CABLE FOR MP3 MP4 Camera
yuanhuaii aka yuanhuayh demonstrates how eBay is unable to control or stop the problem of fake flash memory items such a mp3 mp4 players, memory cards and usb flash drives from being sold. If you want to buy these items on eBay – you do so at your own risk. The probability of acquiring a false capacity memory item is over 90%. Do you feel lucky?
Thinking that changing his name would erase his fake flash memory selling past, what does yuanhuaii aka yuanhuayh do? Return to selling fake memory on eBay, what else?
To review yuanhuaii aka yuanhuayh’s negative feedback
Here is a recent snapshot. You will see the fake flash selling past documented and also how many eBay members were foolish enough or conned into revising their feedback for the seller. So if you bought a fake mp3 mp4 player from him, now you know why you are a victim.

SOSFakeFlash does not forget YOU, the victims of eBay fake flash memory sellers. That is why we have databases and why we ask you to report in using the Report a Fake Tab.
We track and trace known eBay fake flash memory sellers over time. If they change their name we can catch them with your completed information. If they try to start up under a new id, we can connect the dot’s and trace them, often to major counterfeit rings operating and abusing eBay and frauding members.
As far as victims and SOSFakeFlash are concerned, there is no eBay Fake Flash Memory Seller Protection Program. Correct behavior is to contact all buyers, to refund in full and to apologize for the harm that has been caused. The seller yuanhuaii aka yuanhuayh has no intention of changing, only becoming more skilled at deception and fraud.

eBay sellers based in China and Hong Kong who engage in fraud are now using Singapore to ship out their false capacity USB flash drives, MP3 MP4 Players and memory cards.
SOSFakeFlash is not certain why Singapore is being used as the new shipping location. Examination of countries visiting SOSFakeFlash reveals that both China and Singapore are accounting for approximately 30% of visits. This is odd. No one from China or Singapore has reported a fake flash memory item purchased on eBay recently.
Obviously we have a new reader audience and we don’t think they are victims of fake flash memory items purchased. You can draw your own conclusions. We have noticed a lot of eBayers complaining about not receiving their fake flash memory items (items we already have on file). It appears that authorities in China, specifically Hong Kong may be inspecting mail and out going shipments, impounding items for fake flash sellers reported at SOSFakeFlash. It would explain why a lot of victims are reporting a Singapore shipping address instead of the traditional Hong Kong address.
We ask that everyone make sure to send in the address for their fake flash seller as listed on envelopes so we can record in the database. Some buyers are reporting that eBay sellers are not writing a return address in a attempt to evade detection or information being collected on them. Well they can’t completely evade. To send there must be stamps or a postal stamp of sending location. If you don’t have full addressing information, send in the origin of the stamps or postal stamp. Mail can not be sent without a place of origin.
If you file a dispute with paypal they have to give you an address. If it is incomplete (often the case for experienced fake flash memory sellers) immediately report the problem to paypal and eBay. They need to know and if they have incomplete information it shows how irresponsible they are. Challenge them.
Some victims believe that there are only 45 days to file a dispute with paypal. Not true. There are 180 days for Paypal to raise an investigation. The key to a refund is to refuse to be frauded or accept “No” as the answer. Read: Trouble With A PayPal Claim? Filed A Dispute? Useful Information.
Other victims who will not let the matter rest with eBay get what is called a “Complimentary” refund from eBay. It is insulting. It implies eBay is doing you a special favor. Nothing is further from the truth. It is hush money, get lost and forget about the problem money. Hold them accountable. If they give you the money fine, but contact other victims for your seller to rescue them and increase the pressure on eBay, PayPal and fake flash memory seller. Enjoy it! Let them feel your pain and hear your voice against fraud!
SOSFakeFlash is currently deep in investigations. It is hard to keep up. We are happy to report that http://fakeflashnews.wordpress.com/ has agreed to help us out. They will be publishing mini alerts against fake flash sellers being reported to us while we probe more deeply on other issues.
The counterfeit ring on eBay we called “Kaki Bukit” is growing! The address is:
30 kaki buldt rd 3
#06-03/04 empire techno ctr

It could change soon. Those who fraud try to evade us at SOSFakeFlash. We need your help! Please send in the addresses you have for an eBay fake flash memory seller.

If you are warning eBay members about your fake flash seller(s) or those documented at SOSFakeFlash as an independent Fake Flash Angel, please assist us by making things easier to document and record. It is a struggle to keep up- we receive a lot of information that is incomplete.
Do you know what happens to incomplete information? It goes into a “To Be Investigated” Folder. The problem is, we don’t have the time and we never get around to it. There are just too many fake flash sellers on the loose. Some eBay sellers can unleash as many as 2000+ fake flash memory items in a period of a few weeks.
So how can you help us?

So you filed a dispute against and eBay seller, are you having a hard time? PayPal usually only allows an eBay member to file a dispute within 45 days of purchase. Is that all the time you have? No.
If an eBay seller has engaged in fraud, PayPal has 180 days to raise an investigation against a seller. You need to understand that emails from PayPal come from emailing robots, not people. These computer programs do not understand your situation. They are only programmes, robots with no human intelligence. To get PayPal to listen to you, you might have to escalate to other email addresses or contact them by telephone.
SOSFakeFlash fights against eBay Fraud for mp3 mp4 players, memory cards and usb flash drives sold on eBay that are false capacity. These items have been altered to lie about their real capacity. Victims contact PayPal and file a dispute against a seller. Some receive speedy refunds, others do not. Those who are not refunded immediately, are assaulted by PayPal email robots.
What happens to these victims? Some give in, thinking that they are receiving email from a real person, instead of a robot. Others know better and fight the robots. It does not matter if you bought a fake flash memory item on eBay or something else. Read: PayPal How Long Do You Have To Claim For A Refund In Disputes? A Guide About PayPal From eBayer’s Experiences.
It contains information that will be useful to you, regardless of what you bought. The key to winning a dispute with PayPal, is refusing to give up, not taking “No” for an answer.
Don’t believe us? Read: PayPal Refunds Victim Of Fake – False Capacity USB Flash Drives Purchased On Ebay. 8 Month Battle Leads To Success.
There is no such thing as “No” – unless you chose to believe it. We know. If you are a victim of fraud on eBay and have filed a dispute with PayPal, don’t give up regardless of what you bought. You need to be prepared to fight back. Understand that PayPal emails come from computer robots, not from people. Never think that those emails rule. People who get their refunds have one thing in common – they refuse to be frauded and they hold PayPal accountable. Are you a person who fights for their rights? Persistence leads to success.

Please test the memory capacity of any usb flash drive, mp3 mp4 player or memory card you purchased on eBay immediately and sent to you from Singapore. Check your postage envelopes for stamps and addressing information. It does not matter if you purchased from an eBay seller registered in Hong Kong, China or elsewhere. If your merchandise arrives from Singapore you should test the items memory capacity before using to avoid the risk of losing files and information.
The war on eBay fake flash memory sellers continues to escalate. Usually eBay sellers registered in China, ship their fake wares from Hong Kong. This is changing. It is possible that the Hong Kong law authorities are scrutinizing out going postal shipments more carefully. SOSFakeFlash in an October report highlights fake flash memory sellers on eBay are changing tactics to continue with their fraud.
For testing and software information please read: H2testw 1.4 – Gold Standard In Detecting USB Counterfeit Drives
The 64GB flash memory size has been targeted. So far three id’s have been linked in a counterfeit ring. We suspect quite a few recently suspended sellers are also involved. There are other sellers active and listing also suspected as part of the ring. To document and connect the dots we need any addressing information you have. Please send the information to sosfakeflashdrive@gmail.com for the eBay seller id involved. If you have the item on hand and, find you have a fake for your seller please report in using the Report A Fake Tab . SOSFakeFlash needs YOUR assistance!
