eBay has permitted the sale of fake flash memory products: usb flash drives, mp players and memory cards for over eight years. In spring 2008 a group of frauded eBay buyers began to fight back, they contacted other members to warn. They contacted eBay too and protested. eBay refused to listen. In quite a few cases, the people who warned were persecuted and suspended by eBay! Odd behavior for eBay especially as they promote “Buyer Protection”. So these early Fake Flash Angels took their message to the internet. The first site, SOSFakeFlash, began publishing in August 2008.
SOSFakeFlash is announcing Phase III for Operation Fake Flash Storm Against eBay. You the reader and frauded buyers can use Social media now to fight back and warn others! You can share on Facebook, StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit and Email. You can leverage the internet to promote awareness, to protest and fight back! Want to learn how? Read the rest of this entry »

If you believe eBay is honest, or promotes an open dialogue on the issue of fake flash memory items: usb flash drives, mp players or memory cards, you are sadly mistaken.
You can not hope to voice an honest opinion on eBay. You can expect to receive a nasty warning or threat from eBay if you attempt to speak truthfully about fake mp players, memory cards or usb flash drives.
You can not expect eBay to understand the meaning of the word, “Transparency”. eBay needs the revenue from these fraudulent sellers. They want it, big time. If eBay was sincere they would have addressed the problem a long time ago.

These sellers try anything and everything to avoid refunding buyers or apologize. Sadly many buyers continue to be “conned”, believing the items are “defective“. Continue to patrol and monitor eBay for suspect flash memory listings.
eBay powersellers using private auctions to sell false capacity memory cards, usb flash drives and mp players are no longer immune to suspensions. Pressure on eBay continues.
When members take the time to warn others who left positive feedback, powersellers are starting to be suspended despite high positive feedback scores.
As always, buyers should test the true capacity of items: H2testw 1.4 – Gold Standard In Detecting USB Counterfeit Drives to ensure advertised capacity was received. If not, leave SOSFakeFlash + H2testw in feedback (negative, or follow up to positive), file a dispute for a refund, contact eBay if you are able and begin warning others.
If you are a lucky one, contacted by a FakeFlashAngel, offer your help.
SOSFakeFlash is currently focusing on investigations, processing information received from The Report A Fake Tab and Action Cells. We need to produce updated eBay Fake Flash Seller lists.
Addressing information is revealing fraudulent sellers are running several eBay ids in parallel, slightly staggered in time. A Fake Flash Memory relay race? Instead of a baton, pass the fake flash memory sticks? As odd as this may sound, it is exactly what is happening on eBay at the moment. Help trip them up and prevent them from passing the same listings to a new id.
In two months, 235 alerts have been issued on the Internet by SOSFakeFlash. Dragon Dakel’s Watchdog at FakeMemorySentinel 385+ testing warnings.
Consider this, if eBay powersellers who sell fake memory products can now receive suspensions, ask yourself why?

22 eBay sellers have something in common and it is not selling true 128GB capacity usb flash drives. Is your seller on this list published by FakeMemorySentinel?
Tips received by SOSFakeFlash have identified these sellers having something in common. eBay also knows and has rushed to suspend many to ensure there is no record on the internet of their scam operation. More seller id’s are suspected.
While investigators were researching, listings began disappearing. At exactly the same time, new seller ids opened shop with the same “something” in common. It is clear that Kingston DT200 DataTraveler fakes are flooding eBay with alarming speed. One new seller sold more than 100 in just a few hours of operation.
