Survey Flash Memory Prices Retail Stores. SOSFakeFlash Requests Your Participation. Please Assist. 2012 Global Price Drop For Flash Memory? Is It Cheap? New Trends. What Is The Real Story On Lower Flash Memory Prices?
Posted by KittyFireFlash on April 27, 2012
SOSFakeFlash asks your assistance to report current local prices in retail stores where you live for flash memory usb flash drives, memory cards and MP Players in your country. The stores have to be physical, brick and mortar, a place you can enter and purchase! Virtual stores, existing only in internet cyber space will not be considered. We are interested in traditional stores and for good reason. Preferred are large retail chains operating on a national scale. SOSFakeFlash is interested in the prices for flash memory, major brands and retail store brands. The capacity of flash memory size 4GB and higher. WHY?
Since January 2012, SOSFakeFlash and other project sites observe prices dropping for usb flash memory pen sticks and memory cards. The price decreases are astonishing! Many stores have rotating sales, offer tempting discounts for flash memory. A dream finally come true? This trend is especially strong in North America. We wonder, is this a global trend? Is it country specific? We need you to help us uncover the truth so we can determine how wide this recent trend is for flash memory.
We divide the world into seven continent regions: Africa, Antarctica, Asia, Europe, North America, Oceania, South America. In each are the countries belonging to the continent regions. This information is used in our databases and statistics to examine the scope of fake flash memory selling on eBay. We have been accumulating information for over four years.
At the end of 2009 our information was published in a report:
You might be interested in reading it after your shopping trip. Compare prices for the flash memory items offered against the tables! Are your local prices in retail stores today similar to prices once offered by eBay sellers in Asia?
If so…. what does this mean?
Are you going to get a fake if you buy from large established stores now offering discount prices for flash memory?
No. It is not likely. You could be at risk though from a house brand. A house brand is often a “Deal” a store makes with a supplier in China and yes sometimes fakes do slip in. It has happened to a few very well known stores. They pulled the merchandise immediately and refunded buyers. SOSFakeFlash will skip naming them or rubbing their noses in the fake flash experience. It is not constructive. After all, they behaved responsibly and we haven’t seen a recurrence since from these famous retail outlets. Major retail stores behave differently to eBay, they respect consumers. This is an important distinction! We can’t stress this fact enough.
Retail stores are sensitive to customers, they know the value and importance of their buyers and keeping their loyalty and repeat buying. They are part of the local community. Unlike eBay, they are not an invisible presence. You can feel them, touch them, you can stand in front of a salesperson, demand help and answers. If you are not satisfied you can ask for a supervisor or a manager. eBay would have you believe that cheap prices are because they cut out the “frills”, the human face to face interaction. The real truth is….?
eBay has little understanding or control over items listed on eBay. They rely on automation, they have cut out common sense. Are there employee staff that can spot or patrol for fakes? We haven’t seen any concrete evidence during the last four years. eBay does not appear to have a lot of in house IT eBay staff either. They have slashed to the bone. eBay is about making maximum profit and assuming minimum responsibility. You as an eBay buyer assume the responsibility and the financial loss. If you have been foolish enough to believe in the corporate spin on eBay about buyer protection for flash memory listings, you will find yourself at SOSFakeFlash or another project site!
The recent drop in flash memory prices is VERY IMPORTANT! It may have implications that potential buyers should know.
Can you help us examine the recent trends? Assist us in gathering information so we can study the global trends and publish the facts?
SOSFakeFlash deals in only in facts, data, statistics. Could you spend spend a little time, do a shopping trip, join us in being investigative reporters?
Please visit your local stores, armed with a pen and a notepad. Check printed advertising circulars distributed to your home. Pay special attention to sales. Then send your information to this email address:

If you assist in being detective shoppers we can gather metrics and statistical information, on the new price drops. There are strong indications prices are suddenly CHEAP at local stores. SOSFakeFlash does not know why, do you?
From early information received, it is clear eBay is losing it’s competitive edge in advertised prices for usb flash drives, mp players and memory cards. Are local retail outlets fighting back against internet stores for flash memory?
SOSFakeFlash can tell you one thing, if you purchase from a physical store, you are less likely to buy a fake flash memory item.
You have the opportunity to confront the store if you did get a fake, something you can not really do if you buy from an internet store and especially eBay. THIS is probably the most important. Being able to stand face to face with a person, to get answers, to get satisfaction. Cyber space, the internet is not a good place to make sure you get real and genuine flash memory. If you disagree, read our site and start at the beginning, 2008!
Major retail chains usually buy from authorized wholesalers or directly from the brand name, this decreases the possibility of you buying fake flash memory dramatically .
If it is true flash memory prices are competitive with eBay or even cheaper, it means there is absolutely no reason to even consider taking the risk on eBay. This is what we need to find out.
We need your participation. Is now buying: usb flash drives, memory cards or MP Players on eBay useless, foolish and filled only with risk for fakes? If local stores are matching or even offering lower prices for SAFE flash memory capacity, buying flash memory on eBay becomes even more foolish – why gamble and take the risk? You need only review information at FrankenFlash project sites to learn why and the endless documentation and proof.
Several of the FrankenFlash project inspectors recently visited a number of stores. So far, the highest available capacity found was 64GB. Nothing above 64GB was available. All items 32GB or higher were in security anti theft containers if not behind a counter. Every single inspector reported leaving a store with a purchase for flash memory! The prices impossible to resist. Yes, they tested the items with with H2testw 1.4 and every single item purchased in a retail store passed – full capacity reported in testing.

Toward A Fake Flash Drive Free World – No More Counterfeits – No More Data Loss
SOSFakeFlash is co-founded by frauded buyers on eBay and some of the early eBay sellers who accidentally sold fake flash memory. These eBay fake flash sellers discovering they engaged in fake flash memory selling, contacted all their buyers, refunded them, apologized and suffered serious financial loss. These sellers set the standards by which future sellers would be judged. Frauded buyers did not set the standards.
The damage psychological, emotional and financial to people who lose files, photos and data to digitally altered flash memory chips is the most important reason for SOSFakeFlash’s existence. No apology, refund brings back those lost files or the business that goes bankrupt as they can not recover vital information.

Thousands of people thinking of becoming resellers of flash memory have avoided becoming a fake flash memory seller because they visited this site, BEFORE they committed to a large scale purchase.
While interested in sales these potential resellers did the smart thing – they researched the internet, avoided becoming a victim or making their future buyers victims!
With sites such as FlashDriveFacts, eBay sellers really have no excuse when they claim ignorance. The information is available. It just means the eBay seller was lazy, didn’t do the research on their product before they bought from a wholesaler, or consulted the internet. The FlashDriveFacts site proves it.

There is no site an eBay fake flash memory seller fears more than FakeMemorySentinel. eBay hates this site. Honest eBay sellers don’t mind it. Some even subscribe to site. They don’t mind if they show up in a warning, confident that their feedback will provide them to be honest. In fact they delight in the site. Why? Their competition – the fake flash memory sellers on eBay ruining their chances to sell real flash memory!
Does this site get heat? Threats? Is it attacked?
Yes. All the time.
FakeMemorySentinel entered on to the internet to be proactive. SOSFakeFlash could not keep up with the exploding number of eBay seller id’s listing potential fake flash memory items. It’s job is the first line of defense for eBay buyers of flash memory. To WARN!
Many people who find the site are saved. They test their items from eBay sellers and other internet sites. They fight back when they discover that H2testw proves they purchased fake flash memory. They also report sellers.
FakeMemorySentinel is one of the most active sites in allowing eBay sellers who sell fake flash memory to be caught, reported and documented for SOSFakeFlash.
To have a warning issued on FakeMemorySentinel is not as serious as having an alert issued at SOSFakeFlash. If an alert is issued by SOSFakeFlash a full article is done on everything the seller sold, a complete and intensive investigation. If a seller enters into the SOSFakeFlash databases as a result of a report from a buyer who reads FakeMemorySentinel, the seller is monitored, tracked and can even have his/her addressing information published on the internet. Studies and data have revealed that the same people use many eBay ids, to continuously attempt to list fake flash memory on eBay. Finding them, revealing them is important.
Even more important, FakeMemorySentinel has another purpose. Providing hot links to brand name manufacturers for flash memory products, for easy access to product validation.
Product validation for flash memory is probably the most significant contribution FakeMemorySentinel offers. Information received from the brand names is used to fight cases for fraud. Buyers who validate, provide real time information to the brand to track sources for fake flash memory and to shut them down! Brand names use this intelligence to remove internet wholesaling sites engaging in the selling of counterfeits and fakes. They also leverage the listing snap shots of eBay seller listings to force eBay to remove them and even suspend sellers!
This site is has the best real time digital footprint for potential fake flash memory being offered on the internet. The investigators capture the listings. No one can dispute the listing. It is graphic detail, history. It is being be captured and preserved in the new world of Big Data. FakeMemorySentinel’s listing captures are being fed into the sites that mine Big Data. It provides an interesting addition to data collected, trends, consumer habits and behaviors – the attraction to fake flash memory? The prices people pay? The prices they are offered at for GB advertised size?
While FakeMemorySentinel seeks to warn consumers, it is the most visionary site in the FrankenFlash Project, anticipating the new collectors and crunchers of information and providing easy access.
FakeMemorySentinel offers a unique feature for eBay. See their left menu bar, scroll down to Categories, WatchDog eBay. Look at all the eBay sellers by their registered countries. Each country shows the number of warnings issued!
The numbers grow each week by eBay registered country.
