So you were thinking of buying a memory card, an MP Player or a usb flash drive on eBay? Beware! You are most likely going to become a flash memory victim! Surprised? Don’t be. One of the most successful fake flash memory sellers, was Safe2Star. How many victims does SOSFakeFlash have on file? 207! A lot of victims are shy about reporting to SOSFakeFlash, they shouldn’t be. It is the only way to fight back against a fake flash memory seller.

The victims of Safe2Star, fought long and hard. The real problem was Safe2Star using private auctions and also the size of his feedback score. eBay tried to ignore the victims. They tried very hard. This seller knew how to manipulate eBay.

Who is Safe2Star and how did eBay members succeed?

Safe2Star belongs to several different eBay counterfeit rings:

  • Lee Man Fung
  • Lei Sio Hong
  • Pang Yee Fung

We believe he is one of the ring masters for the sale of fake and counterfeit flash memory on eBay.

If you are interested in his addressing information and breakdown of associated id’s read: Safe2Star Addressing And Background Information On Fraudulent eBay Flash Memory Seller – The New Don Of eBay Fake Flash Memory In The Orient.

How did eBay members eventually succeed in bringing enough pressure on eBay to get rid of him? We at SOSFakeFlash would really like to tell you, reveal all the details.

If we did, SOSFakeFlash would cease to be a strong force fighting against the sale of fake flash memory. It is important for you to know, eBay reads what SOSFakeFlash and the other sites publish.

The battle ground for fake flash memory sales is changing. We adapt to the adaptation of fake flash memory sellers. We at SOSFakeFlash will say one thing though, getting rid of a seller requires commitment on the part of victims. If you didn’t like being scammed and if you are concerned for other buyers who will face your situation, you really only have one choice. ACT! If you don’t the seller will continue. Do not be naive in assuming eBay will protect you. Too many victims of Safe2Star actually believed this. It is why he was allowed to fraud members for so long.

If you are a fake flash memory victim, you need to be aggressive. You need to think of the other buyers. There is strength in numbers. Don’t expect somebody else is doing the work. Don’t expect SOSFakeFlash is going to do all the work for you. We empower people to empower others. We are your voice. We are your evidence recorder. We put your information into our database, we protect your identity and we raise investigations. We publish an internet record for anyone to find.

Is Safe2Star really gone?

No.

He will or already has opened up new eBay id’s he has groomed. The only difference is they won’t have the might of such a high feedback score to hide behind. eBay members eventually strangled Safe2Star. They committed themselves to chocking off his sales. When he stopped selling fake flash memory and tried to list cheap items to start rebuilding his feedback score to repair it from incoming negatives and neutrals it didn’t work. Why? SOSFakeFlash of course. How? We are not saying.

To everyone who committed themselves to fighting this seller, on behalf of all victims frauded by Safe2Star we say:

THANK YOU! Victims Of Safe2Star.

You are the unsung heroes. You have all helped many to receive refunds. Stopped people from losing data.

So can you stop a fake flash memory eBay seller?

Yes you can. The suspension of Safe2Star proves that.

Will Safe2Star try to sell fake flash memory again once his suspension is over? Most likely not. The internet imprint against him is too strong.

This id will probably end up historical, like the 3ToTrade id. Part of the legend for fake flash memory sales on eBay. The sad part is the thousands of victims who lost data and who never received a refund. He made more than $500,000 US in profits too. Exactly how much? Only eBay knows and you can believe they won’t real this information, except in an international court of law. eBay isn’t trying to stop the sale of fake flash memory, they are trying to stop the evidence of fake flash memory sales.

How can people help fight fake flash memory? Promote awareness.

The internet is the true battle ground to stop the sale of fake flash memory items that have been “upgraded” – read digitally altered by low level reformatting programmes.

The FrankenFlash project knows how to do it, so could you if you had the right software tools. It’s easy to fool operating systems.

The other trick used with me: searching for 32 gigabyte SD flash card. Reputable seller. Big “32”. Small “mb”. Thought I was getting a good purchase. Waste of a few dollars.

  6. Greg Zeng said

Not just SD cards. Everything. Look into detail of the so-called eBay reputation. Who are the buyers. What did they buy. 0.1cent items, with similar sounding feedback, similar names.

I reported them to eBay. Immediately the seller was terminated. BTW: they were selling Windows 7 operating system at unbelievable prices.

    Tanks Seth,

We are doing our best. It is not easy work for us all. It’s the determination of frauded buyers that matters most.

The landscape is changing in fighting against fake flash memory on eBay.

The biggest concern we have is the increase in throw away id’s. Please need to read:
Changing Trends In The Sale Of Fake Memory On eBay For USB Flash Drives, Memory Cards And MP Players. SOSFakeFlash Advises Do Not Buy From eBay Sellers With Low feedback Scores. Avoid Sellers with Scores Under 300+ To Protect Yourself From Potential Fraud. Learn Why.

You and those like you do not play by the rules as you are FakeFlashCommandos. It is true we did not like your methods, especially in the early days. But back then it was necessary to establish the credibility of our site. We’ve earned it the hard way, through intensive investigation, documentation and presenting the facts.

Fake memory sellers on eBay and elsewhere have taken advantage of our reports in conjunction with eBay and Paypal. For the latter two, they have engaged in refunding when buyers complain enough with eBay suspending so they can remove listings, the proof. The intention is obvious to all.

At the same time, ids pop up on a daily basis. It is obvious that fraudulent sellers are trying to break through the walls we are building. While DragonDakel’s team rushes to expose the new ids, it is very obvious to all, it is the same sellers involved. The new attempt to try and bury us in an avalanche of ids.

This is where the work of people like you and your team do and can make a difference, bidding and buying and negativing obvious fraudulent sellers immediately. It is dangerous work. We ask you all to be very careful. It can be a double edged sword. It is also and we repeat, – unethical. However given the number of low feedback ids and the fact they are not the home ids of fraudulent sellers, and that eBay when discovering them, suspends, it is about the only way to get the fact on record. When a seller offers a 256GB flash drive for less then $50 US in “Buy Now” – it screams fake, regardless if generic or branded.
As eBay stubbornly refuses to acknowledge and end the issue, for sellers in the category just mentioned, we are now blind, deaf and dumb. We will not acknowledge FakeFlashCommandos or approve what they do, but if people decide to go this route, we will not complain either.

    Why?

They have chosen to respond in kind, adopting the strategy of eBay and also the fraudulent sellers. All we can say is they have chosen to serve back in kind. We just hope that people who choose this route are not foolish or stupid enough to use their regular ids.

In review on the increase of throw away ids we are alarmed. It is impossible to keep up with the numbers. The level of fraud is less, they can no longer use an id to fraud 1000+ buyers at a time. Instead they are using 5 ids in parallel to reach their target of 1000+ buyers.
As a result, people such as yourself and your team and independent commandos appear to be the only force able to address the issue of the number of id’s selling fake memory on eBay. We don’t like this approach.

    The burning question remains…

How can we address so many ids that are not real ids, only created to sell fake memory products on eBay after grooming in a lot of cases, in others they are bold enough to begin without the usual feedback grooming. Fraudulent sellers are now resisting leaving any feedback for buyers. Many will shutdown as soon as they reach their sales target and close their account on eBay before eBay has the opportunity to suspend them or PayPal can freeze their account.

It’s getting nasty readers…. moving to a new level.

Buyers who have been frauded, we have only one message for you:

Do not be naive. Do not think eBay refunds you because of your dispute, that it was by your own efforts alone. It is because eBay is afraid and attempting to silence you. And most importantly, because people before you fought back. The victims before you have done so for over three years. Many never got a refund, but they knew people like you would become victims of the future. They were not selfish, they thought of YOU!

What can you do? To say “Thank You” for this site and the volunteers?
