How Are People Fighting Against Fake Memory MP Players, USB Flash Drives And Memory Cards? eBay And The Internet.

Posted by KittyFireFlash on May 18, 2010

Are you a victim of false capacity flash memory? Did you buy a fake usb flash drive, memory card or mp player on eBay? Did you lose data, files, your money?

SOSFakeFlash will soon celebrate two years of action fighting to free consumers from the horrible experience of purchasing fake flash memory items and the consequences of data loss. Read Why Is Fake Flash Memory So Dangerous?

Operation FakeFlashStorm against eBay is progressing. There is only one way to free eBay from fake usb flash drives, mp players and memory cards. It requires YOU!

How do people fight back against the fraud?

FraudedBuyers

FakeFlashVictims – Frauded buyers who leave negative feedback or follow up feedback with the keywords: SOSFakeFlash + H2testw . They file disputes against the sellers, report into SOSFakeFlash with details, refuse partial refunds or to be blackmailed into changing feedback as a condition of refund.

FakeFlashAngels – People who warn other buyers by sending eBay messages to test for actual capacity for a fake flash memory seller.

FakeFlashSentinals – People who patrol eBay and report suspect listings to eBay, to SOSFakeFlash and the FrankenFlash Project. Also who create warning listings on eBay in MP Players, Memory Card and USB flash drive categories by offering their “personal story” as an item.

FakeFlashCommandos – People who engage in very aggressive methods to fight against known fake flash memory sellers. They have saved many people by proactively identifying fake flash memory sellers on eBay and shutting them down quickly. They also fight internet wholesaler sites, the sources of the products flooding eBay. Usually fighters by nature, they have guts and take a lot of personal risk. Frequently they are people who have read up on this site and others and realize passive actions are insufficient to stop the problem from escalating.

Internet Documenters – People who write articles and reference https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/ to increase awareness. They include people who upload pictures and information of their fakes to internet sites and then reference articles and comments at SOSFakeFlash to support their claims and increase awareness.

Will you accept the challenge to help?

We’ve made a lot of progress in two years, eBay is very worried. Sellers are being suspended more quickly. Now is the time to mobilize the full buyer community to action. We’ve worked very hard for you to make this chance possible along with two years of victims before you. Everyone who is a victim on eBay should carry out the actions of FakeFlashVictim.

This is your opportunity. Choose what suits you best:

  • FakeFlashAngel
  • FakeFlashSentinal
  • FakeFlashCommando
  • Internet Documenter

We need everyone! This your chance to make the work of Operation Fake Flash Storm Against eBay something eBay, PayPal and fraudulent eBay sellers will never forget.

  1. To all

The war against fake memory on ebay is now being fought on 2 fronts.

    1) investigating reported sellers using sosfakeflash’s report a fake tab.

    2) detecting new sellers and suspect listings at fakememorysentinel to warn people to test and fight back now instead of yesterday.

Research is showing that eBay is activity suspending sellers who scam when they are new id’s and are not powersellers. It’s increasing pressure on the frankenflash project team to document. If we don’t then ebay and fraudulent sellers get away with it.

Like Kitty says, we need you to help. I didn’t like getting ripped off. Question. Do you like being ripped off, scammmed?

ebay honest? LOL! Wake up. We did. What a lesson learned!

If you don’t believe how bad things are, see our website:

  11. Keep sending in seller addresses.

We are building the database for connections to eBay counterfeit rings.

A new list of scammers will be published in a few weeks. Priority continues for identifying new eBay id’s.

Counts against a seller does matter, but one report is enough based on data we have collected in 2.5 years.

    The most important things are:

    1) leaving negative feedback with “SOSFakeFlash” and “H2testw” so people find help.

    2) warning other eBay members who bought from your seller

    3) reporting fraudulent listings, eBay is listening, so help shut down the scam artists by reporting the listings for the article you bought.

    4) file disputes, get your money back!

    5) don’t change your feedback for a refund, don’t let a seller blackmail you, paste emails in your disputes when sellers demand this, it is a violation of eBay rules. watch out for bribes, sellers are very scared of loosing their feedback ratings.

    6) if you left positive feedback, do follow up feedback and tell the truth. then warn some other buyers.

    7) research prices. stay away from any ebay seller registered in asia, especially singapore, hong kong, china. buy from these sellers and you will join the list of victims.

    8)

a)if you bought a memory card and it is a fake, you might as well forget trying to repair it.

    b) if you bought an mp player, it will be very hard to repair to real capacity, use your time to get a refund and learn from your lesson,

    c) if you bought a usb flash drive depending on results from H2testw you have a good chance to repair it see http://fixfakeflash.wordpress.com/ and read the faq before you start. See Should You Repair A Fake USB Flash (Pen) Drive? http://flashchiptech.wordpress.com/2009/09/23/should-you-repair-a-fake-usb-flash-pen-drive/ don’t forget to answer techchips polls. interesting thing 😀 most people decide to try and visit my site. think it over. If you got 1.7 GB or 1.8 GB for a 2GB chip for example, you have a grade d chip, yuk. if you got a real capacity ending in .9 ie 1.9 GB you have a good chip you have a pretty good chance to for a reliable usb flash drive if you find the right low level formating tools.

So if H2testw gives you 1.9, 3.9, 7.9 GB real capacity go for it. To find the right tools, consider opening the usb flash drive to decode. chipgenius is not proving to be reliable. best method is to open and get the usb controller chip and flash drive chip. too many vid and pid are wrong. in reprogramming they are putting anything for vid and pid these days. so open if you can.

Most people who get scammed pay under $50 US. Usually about $25 US. Use your time to make them hurt fight back, get your refund.

If you think you will get a refund by sending the fake back, think of what it will cost you. Over 50% never get any refund, the item is resold, and you will loose even more money. if ebay suspends the seller and you return, kiss your money good bye! 😦

    Ladies and Gents,

This is such wonderful news. Less data entry for me in the future?

Victims and buyers should take advantage of this new feature.

Everyone at sosfakeflash keeps emphasizing why it is so important to leave negative feedback. So many people write to all of us explaining how they became victims,so many positives for a seller. To click through feedback to find negatives could give you repetitive stress syndrome sigh, so this feature is delightful!

Please make the most of this enhancement to ebay. Strike, at the crown jewels. Your feedback negatives carry a bigger punch now!

Do you think this might quicken the suspension of sellers, Red and Chuckie?

We appreciate all your help Seth.

Your comments are a bit hard on folks who have been frauded. Okay you have been helping for a long time and yes this is a very sad and tiring affair. But there is no need to rub salt into the wounds of eBay members who have been frauded.

Fortunately we understand where you are coming from and most of us have no illusions about eBay and the fraud they permit.

You are correct, it will go on and on and on and on for Powersellers…….

Unless people start to fight back. A lot of people are fighting back, the issue is the scale of the fraud.

The only way to try and help, protect eBay members is to use the internet. The more people use interest sites to document how they were frauded, visit forums and have warning listings on eBay ( sell a short document on the issue with some helpful information), the more we can starve these scam artistic of sales and profit. eBay and paypal both lose money when people file disputes and claims.

What does SOSFakeFlash have to say on all the powerseller scammers you just reported with updates? They are on the lists. If a person does the testing with H2testw and find they got a false capacity item, the best option is to simply leave a negative stating item not received. This way they can easily get a refund. Many sellers put gift on custom declarations and that is also illegal. There are many victim comments at this site suggesting that the best option is to simply state, the item was not recieved.

    Is this ethical?

The fraud is mostly coming from eBay sellers in the orient. They simply open a new id when they are suspended. The Cycle is endless. They have no ethics, no rules. After 2.5 years of fighting this issue, it is pretty clear where eBay stands – they back the fraudulent sellers.

As far as SOSFakeFlash is concerned, victims are free to choose their course of action. Should they choose to declare item not recieved for a known fake flash memory seller, we don’t have a problem with this.

We are being drowned with reports of ebay sellers who scam.

We challenge anybody to demonstrate an internet site that has documented more fake flash memory sellers on eBay then we have.

Readers can draw their own conclusions. The fraud is in the millions of US dollars and it will not stop until people take action, any kind of action. Any and every little bit helps.

Readers also need to understand something else. Most victims are honest by nature and play by western rules. This is unfortunately a big mistake. After 2.5 years it is pretty clear.

You might at times be a bit insulting to victims but we do understand why. While we might agree with you, remember that most of us, fell into the same trap. We had to learn our lesson the hard way.

The biggest problem continues to be a lack of understanding on the part of consumers as to the true costs for flash memory chips, so long as they actually believe they can get items cheap on eBay we will continue to have an endless parade of victims. The fraud will continue.

    The only weapons are:

    1)leaving negative feedback
2)warning other eBay members with messages
3)visting forums to spread the word and writing articles at websites referencing us.
4)writing in languages other than english to increase awareness.
5)Telling anyone you meet or know, about the fraud occuring on eBay – your friends, family, colleagues at work. Schools to keep youngsters from buying on eBay, your local newspapers.
6)Writing letters to Chinese consulates around the world and demanding an explanation as to their actions and intent to put an end to the fraud.

7)Another very effective method and very damaging to eBay’s reputation is to put up a bulliten on your company boards, in offices warning fellow workers of the fraud. I found that this was very good and effective. I got a lot of questions from people and yes, most have stopped buying on eBay all together. That is SWEET!

The revenue they have lost for the sale of anything, is a form of justice to victims who never received a refund from eBay.

The position of SOSFakeFlash is very simple: No one in their right mind, should ever consider buying a usb flash drive, memory card or mp player on eBay!Less then 5% of all items sold are genuine capacity. Sad. Frightening. True.

So if you are a victim, do more than just complain. What you do, is up to you. SOSFakeFlash is not the thought police. Act as you see fit, according to your conscience and what you are comfortable with.

PS Seth, please try to be a little less harsh and sarcastic. While we understand, other readers may not.

Rule of Thumb for saying things:

    1) Is it true?
    2) Is it necessary?
    3) Is it kind… in the long run.

1 thru 3 are important. Wisdom from senior citizens recieved when I was very young.

Finally a question to all readers.

How to increase consumer awareness on the real costs of flash memory? That is the key to winning this war against false capactiy flash memory.

    Item#: 280529415912
    Current bid: US$35

    Item location: HongKong, Hong Kong

Several noteworthy things about this one:

    1. Seller is registered in Canada, but ships from Hong Kong
    2. Photo shows a Kingston 32GB DataTraveler
    3. Item title states ‘OEM’, and note the critical “32” double quotes around 32 and then the mention of 4GB at the end!
    4. In big red letters in the auction details they state:
“Notice: The real capacity is 4GB,and only show 32GB with same ORIGINAL KINGSTON 32GB shape like the photo what you see!!! It is REAL HIGH SPEED 2.0 USB STICK,HAPPY BID!!! WARRANTY : SAME 5 YEARS”
    5. So far there have been 22 bids!

    frank8766317?

How the heck did he get a top seller rating from eBay with a feedback score at 98.1% ???

There is no such thing as OEM Kingston! Stating the “real capacity as 4GB” doesn’t get him off the hook! He is selling a dangerous item, the moment a person exceeds 4GB they will lose files or worse. Kingston Counterfeits are the worse one can get. They usually lock up after the true capacity is exceeded and are very difficult if not impossible to repair.

frank8766317 probably bought an inventory of fakes and is now trying to palm them off on unsuspecting buyers. The reality is, he should suck up his losses and not make victims of eBay members.

SOSFakeFlash does not go for fancy wording or wiggle woggles from eBay sellers who try this sort of thing.

Sorry frank8766317 if you don’t state it is a fake and also a counterfeit item using Kingston’s brand name you are in trouble.

If Kingston Technologies doesn’t go after you, if only one of your buyers reports in, expect to join the infamous honour role of eBay fake flash memory sellers.

Amazing, Red, just how far eBay goes in allowing listings like this and promotes fraud for flash memory.

Sellers like frank8766317 deserve a kick in the pants. Word games is no excuse for unleashing this krap, very dangerous krap on eBay members. Shows just how far some sellers will go.

The zero tolerance policy has been in effect for over a year now, perhaps readers and victims can understand why…

  21. Spookie said

Just today alone I have identified 35 suspected sellers of fake memory
products. In the last month 400 have been identfied as suspected, half of them are
no longer registered. Most of the ones that are no longer registered use quantity available and multiple listings to sell large quantities of fake sd cards, mp3 players and usb flash drives. One seller (shopping-wang2008)has sold over 4200 8gb mp3 players and is still selling, at a price of $20 that would be $84,000.

Some of the fake sellers start out selling cheap items, screen protactors, styluses and cheap jewelry and then add Mp3 players, sd cards and usb drive. They sell these items for .01 plus with free shipping at a loss to build up their positive feedback score, and then start dumping fakes. Some of sellers continue to selling these items to keep their feedback scores high.

If it is cheap, its a fake, for example, people are buying 256gb usb drives for $20.00, when others are selling the item for more than $800. Some sellers have started to raise their prices, so beware.

  22. Spookie said

see previous post, shopping-wang2008 is no longer register after he sold over 4200 8gb mp3 players, where did the $84,000 go????

    Tip!

Don’t put sosfakeflash.wordpress.com in your negative feedback. You can put sosfakeflash wordress com if you must. We prefer you just put:

    “SOSFakeFlash” + “H2testw”

instead. That will do the trick.

“Google seller name” works too, but the combo above is best. People need to get the help and also learn about the testing needed. Sellers are tricky and can rename their ids.

eBay bots don’t like the dot com thing. Some of the reasons are valid, too.

  25. Kitty,

We need more people to create eBay warning listings. Offer a little pdf file or word file describing their experience. eBay listings require that something is “sold”, a frauded buyers story is a good item.

Currently as you know, most of your team is working to assist us. Not good for your site here, but necessary.

eBay is doing absolutely nothing to prevent the sale of fake flash mp players, memory cards and usb pen sticks.

Sellers in China and Hong Kong continue to open new ids daily. eBay is zapping ids that do not have a feedback score. The major problem is, they can sell as much as 1,000 unites before they are shutdown. eBay then removes internet evidence. However, eBay is NOT contacting buyers to refund them. Instead they are pocketing the listing feeds.

They are screwing (pardon my language) buyers and surprisingly this new seller ids.

    As TechReporters accurately revealed in:

eBay Protects hill-item aka hit-item Fake Memory Seller Based In Hong Kong. eBay Engages In Risk Management. Profit Rules eBay Members Screwed!

eBay does not dare to step on the toes of established powersellers that engage in fraud.

I think you wrote several articles here about how eBay sold it’s soul to enter the Chinese market place. Didn’t you also write about the inequality in listing fees? How many sellers registered in China get to list free on ebay.com while local sellers have to pay hugh fees?

Sorry we had to steal your resources, but the project’s first mandate is to document eBay’s participation in fraud. Regardless of their efforts to erase information, FakeFlashSentinel will document the listing existed.

Have you considered a part three to FakeFlashStorm against eBay? We are part of I and II.

Perhaps you should abandon the passive approach. Have a designated month devoted to very aggressive action against eBay.

Detail actions that Seth and company engage in. Promote the activities of FakeFlashCommandos. As eBay does not play fair, we don’t see why your site and team should any longer. If you don’t apply more aggressive action you won’t get your resources back. We need them to choke the new ids.

You may wish to consider a call, for people to compile a list of all Chinese consulates around the world, their addresses and email addresses so that frauded buyers might begin to flood their main. While it is doubtful that they will take action, it is desirable to “spread the pain” as you put it.

I have seen similar “books” being sold to make a profit. Item # 150469747355 has a “buy it now” for $6 US and an item description of “Fix Fake 8GB 16GB 32GB SDHC MicroSD Micro SD Card Book”. It’s an ebook on “How to Test and Detect FAKE MicroSD or SDHC” that makes mention of fixing the file system. I’m not sure if he is trying to stop them from being sold, or make money because they are.

Anyone think he should be asking for more?

  27. KittyFireFlash said

    To TheBlueAngel,

We do have some concerns about eBooks promising success. Not sure which one you are talking about. The item number has gone vapour.

$6 US is a bit steep. Covering ones listing feeds and a little extra for work is okay.

Fixing Fake 8GB 16GB 32GB SDHC MicroSD Micro SD Card? razz: InspectorTech would luv the solution…

The thing is, memory cards are almost impossible to really “fix” fix. The issue is repairing the usb controller chip. It is hard to get a proper reading because of the usb readers. You can’t open them either unless you want to destory the cards for good. To repair a hack as we have been saying almost from the beginning at all the sites, requires fixing the hacked info in the usb controller chip. For that you need the right software. There is more to properly repairing a fake then low level reformatting of the flash memory chip.

A lot of people don’t understand this, especially those outside of the IT arena.

So especially for memory cards, fixing the file system is not enough. The hack is still there. Reformat and see what happens.

It’s better people sell their personal stories if they want to draw attention to the problem. There are few miracle cures out there.

If somebody out there has the Magic Bullet that repairs all hacked flash memory, by all means – SHARE!

Two years ago, I bought 3 items containing flash memory from ebay, it turned out they were all faked. They were sold as 4 to 8GB but were all doctored 2GB. I told myself not to buy anything containing flash memory on ebay again.

This month I pressed the wrong button on ebay and ended up buying a 16GB rmvb player. My fault, I thought perhaps price of flash has dropped so much and I was placing a rather high price on this player I might get a good one. Wrong. The 16GB player stuck forever on the second power up the first night when I loaded 5GB onto it. I haven’t find any way to resurrect it yet. Guess what it only contains a 2GB flash chip inside. It died trying to accept 5GB. There has been absolutely no improvements after two years!

I had no idea this even existed untill two weeks ago. I ordered a 32GB TF memory card from eBay, from a seller called grandtechdigital. My Driod phone gladly accepted the card and reported the full 32GB ready to use, so I loaded approximately 8GB mp3 music to it. The card gladly accepted the data, and I did not suspect anything was wrong. Later, while taking photos, the Droid locked up my phone and crashed it. It was apparent that there was something wrong with the card, but it was not until I got an email from a FakeFlashAngel that the true problem came to light. If all that data has not been loaded, it might have been months before the scam was discovered. A dispute filed with eBay soon shut grandtechdigital down, but eBay has refused to refund my money under the PayPal Protection Plan until the card is returned to Hong Kong via registered mail. I paid $36.00 for the card and the postage will probably be $15.00, so I am still out that much. I did not dig deep enough in the sellers feedback. The signs were there. And now eBay appears to also be minimizing their losses by making it as difficult as possible for me to get my money back. The PayPal Protection is a cruel joke. Why won’t they just give me my money and end it there? I am hating eBay more and more everyday. They have lost a customer here (my brother-in-law got burned, too), and I would advise all of you be be very cautions with them. No matter how hard they try, there is a lot of illicit activity that they cannot ever control. We, the buyers, foot the ultimate bill.

KittyFireFlash, you need to issue an update on current status with the ebay fight. InspectorTech and TechChips members are in overload. DragonDakel says his team is in overload.

eBay is spending more time fight us. LOL! 😡

    “FakeFlashCommandos” believe in taking action.

    1) Save yourself trouble. Skip a dispute. Report you did not recieve. duh!
    2) hit forums and list seller.
    3) contact other buyers
    4) report listings to ebay
    5) think like the scammer. have guts.

hey, the people at sosfakeflash are going nuts! read this site and learn.

    6) use feedback or follow up feedback to kiss ass and warn so other peple find this site.

    7) wake up and think like a crook and criminal. ebay seller in orient for flash memory = crook go newegg.com for prices. ebay = crook. paypal = fraud big time.

    8) make ebay listing warning about fakes. what did you buy? create a listing for it. put in sosfakeflash or some other site. to get around ebay type up your story in a word doc or or pdf file, sell it!

800,00o hits here what more do you need?????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????????

    The fraud continues.

    Update from FrankenFlash staff meeting:

    1) Frauded eBay members need to fight for refunds.
    2) Frauded eBay members need to contact other buyers from their seller. This is urgent.
    3) People continue to be suckers, buying flash memory at stupid prices. Issue is promoting awareness. Document your fake, then link to https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/

    4) A Lot of people use this site for information, but the bad news is they take the information and run without doing anything to help. It makes things harder for the voleenteers.

    5) yeah, eBay is suspending sellers fast. You thing this is good? wrong it lets ebay remove listings. Do they refund you? Tell you bought a fake? No.

    6) eBay owns paypal, they make it hard to pay with a credit card. Why? Because if you use a credit card to pay, they can lose the sale. The credit card company will refund you for a fake memory seller.

    7) the best way to help is leave negative feedback or follow up feedback.

    8) Do you feel good that eBay refunded you? Do you really belive it is because of your efforts? Wake up. It is because so many people fought. A lot of them, never got a refund. They had guts. Big balls. They didn’t think about the data lost, or the money. They were smart enough to know that eBay would sit on its ass. So they knew more people would be scammed and fought. They kissed refunds GOODBUY!

Kitty and SOSfakeflash are right, how you chose to deal with the fraud says more about you as a person then eBay or the f*cking scam sellers.

It says what kind of person you really are.

    1) Are you a person who will change your feedback so you get some money back?

    2) Are you a person who thinks only about yourself? Screw everyone else?

    3) Are you a person who says “oh well” and then gives up?

    4) Are you a person who belives in themselves? Who fights for what is right and will not let tem elves be f*cked?

Do you know that the people who look after this site and the other ones are not paid? No, volenters get nothing.

eBay and Paypal shit in their pants for every fake flash memory seller documented here.

When an internet alert is published for a seller LOL it stays on the internet for good.

A lot of sellers play games, they rename ids. If you report in sosfakeflash can track and catch them.

One thing was clear at the meeting, eBay is playing dirty. Most of us don’t care how you fight back. Just do it.

Last update, stupid eBay sellers outside of the Orient are really dumb. They don’t bother to check what flash memory costs. They are also very greedy. Buy a fake for $10 us and sell for $50! Good thing that this site only needs 1 person to report in.

Do you want to know where dumb eBay sellers buy their shit? It will be exposed soon.

We all expect eBay to continue suspending sellers. It will appear that things are quiet on eBay for now….

How do you warn people not to buy from sellers in Hong Kong and China?

Sorry for the long comment Kitty, people have to know what is really happening on eBay.

Dragon Dakel said that you are unable to keep up with all the emails from victims.

My tech team thnigs you need to get more people aware.

got a 128g kingston that had appearance of being the real thing – showed 128g on test but only 10mbs copied then reached limit – bought from supermarket4u which ebay removed a few days after i bought – paypal oked a refund immediately if i returned the item – i think it is just a matter of waiting till these cheap prices become the real price – my first flash drive was 64mbs for $180 now 16g go for $20 heaps of places and are for real – if we all reported our fraud experiences on here i am sure the war will be won

I haven’t seen anyone mention it here, so I will. There are SOOO many sellers of Counterfeit 32 GB micro Cards,(the newest on the market) you can’t find a real one anywhere. I personally have purchased 17 of them, 16 from e-bay (Powersellers and Newbees) and one from Amazon.com. I have found the best way to get around returning the memory to the criminal is to get a letter from the Manufacturer (ex…SanDisk) that the Item is fake and they want it destroyed and not returned to the thieves.

A month ago I purchased two 8GB flash drives on Ebay from Hong Kong (user grandtechdigital)and when check was only 2 Gb each when I went to check the user was no longer on Ebay and the transaction allegedly took place on ebay but not out now I have to think who claim to look for a method to stamp out fraud on Ebay, I personally am done with Ebay fraud, then do not buy most anything on this site, I’d rather pay a little more and buy from manufacturers or reputation sellers

  36. KittyFireFlash said

Elmar you speak for all frauded buyers. You learned a terrible lesson. It stinks. eBay will not stop the sellers. As 95% of all listings are fakes, consider the revenue they receive.

A lot of people leave eBay for good as a result of their flash memory fraud.

Elmar if you funded with a credit card, please contact them to reverse the transaction if eBay will not refund you. Most are only too happy to help as they care about their customers.

grandtechdigital’s fraud is well documented here so you should not have a problem.

  37. We are interested in other internet sites, not just eBay. If you bought fake mp players, memory cards or usb pen sticks on the internet please contact this site using their report a fake tab.

FakeMemorySentinel publishes a lot of warnings. If you see a site selling at really stupid prices, please sent to sosfakeflash.

check out http://www.dramexchange.com/#flash Gb is bits not bytes so you have to divide by 8 to get GB size. a lot of people forget to do the math.

    NAND 64Gb 8Gx8 MLC

    High 17.00

    Low 10.50

    Average 12.72

is for 8GB chip. So for 16GB,32GB,64GB,128GB,256GB? Think about it. BTW that is the price for a chip, does not include PCB board or the final product. It does not include a profit for the seller either of finished item.

Apologies for messing up comments kitty but we have to do it for now. Thanx for giving us your resources for the next phase. 🙂

    To all readers,

SOSFakeFlash is expanding the scope on fake flash memory sellers. Many of the fakes sold on eBay are imported by eBay sellers who don’t bother to do their homework on flash memory costs. These items end up on eBay. You become the victims.

Currently we are very busy collecting information on eBay sellers, there is a lot of work involved. Please keep reporting in using the https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/report-a-fake/ tab.

Also, if you are able, contact other buyers for your eBay fake flash memory seller who left positive feedback to warn them. We can’t reach everyone. eBay only allows a member to send 5 warning messages a day. Not fair. It is the cold hard truth.

Whatever you do, never accept any nonscence from eBay about the time you have to claim. eBay knows what is going on.

Your best option if you funded with a credit card, is to contact them to cancel the transaction. Most companies will be be happy to assist you, once they learn the truth from you, they care more about you as a customer then eBay ever will. eBay and PayPal hate this. Why? Because your credit card company protected you and removed the money from them. You can be very certain that if your credit card does this, they will run to remove the money from the eBay fake flash memory seller and fast.

It demonstrates the hypocrisy of both eBay and Paypal.

Stand up. Fight for your rights. Say NO! to flash memory fraud.

eBay Flash Memory Fraud Continues. 8 Years later, eBay Continues Cover Up For Fraudulent Asian Sellers. 8GB 16GB 32GB 64GB 128GB 256GB Advertised Capacity = 4GB Real Capacity Or Less

Eight years? How many millions has eBay earned at your expense?

    WTF? 😦

    jiaojiao168 is using private auctions.

    http://shop.ebay.com/jiaojiao168/m.html?_nkw=&_armrs=1&_from=&_ipg=25

    Currently over 330 for New 128™GB ™Datatraveler 200 ™USB 2.0 ™Flash ™Drive NR

    http://cgi.ebay.com/New-128-GB-Datatraveler-200-USB-2-0-Flash-Drive-NR-/180562297037?pt=PCC_Drives_Storage_Internal&hash=item2a0a5a00cd

    US $18.68 for 128GB?

Dragon Dakel’s team published on him.

    eBay Flash Memory Sellers jiaojiao168 – marmaduke.dog – shippingfast.11 – monica-zwq – Test Immediately!

Something is not working here, Red!

    Check http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs?User=jiaojiao168&Dirn=Received+by

It’s obvious eBay is sleeping at the wheel. Again.

Private auctions are the best way to scam. We need somebody to report on jiaojiao168 the addressing info too.

Kingston should be contacted as well. If eBay will not do it’s job, then other people have to.

When you see people Red, run to buy 128GB at less then $20 US, what can you say? It’s really nuts. But it shows just how sick the problem is on eBay.

    Our advice?

Take jiaojiao168 down any way you can.

We really need people to post on their personal webspace, http://www.youtube.com too.

    http://cgi.ebay.com/New-256-GB-Datatraveler-310-USB-2-0-Flash-Drive-NR-/180562493696?pt=PCC_Drives_Storage_Internal&hash=item2a0a5d0100

has over 200 sold for US $23.88.

People really need to wake up!

SOSFakeFlash is doing it’s best, but the hard truth remains – only eBay members can shut down fake flash memory sellers.

    The question is….

Are there any people out there with the guts to take on jiaojiao168? Or are they going to crawl on their belly and revise their feedback for less then $25 US and screw other members?

Sellers are shut down when people refuse to be frauded and take a stand.

Personally, I would love to see a confirm on jiaojiao168 with the Report A Fake Tab. The addressing information too. We would issue a detailed alert immmediately!

The part I just can’t understand is how people think they will get 128GB for $20 US? 😕

Does anybody have ideas how we can get people to wake up and understand the real costs for flash memory?

At yesterdays meeting, we got stuck. People just keep buying the stuff for next to nothing.

  45. […] How Are People Fighting Against Fake Memory MP Players, USB Flash Drives And Memory Cards? eBay And … […]

  46. The_Flash said

I wish I knew the answer to that, TechChips. In my experience, some folks seem to be so entrenched in the mindset of “The big bad companies make it all for pennies and are just trying to rip us all off!”, that they can’t understand that this approach is incorrect.

That said, a while ago I saw – by way of someone trying to explain to another person why fake goods are a bad thing – a rather interesting (and in places, heartbreaking and sad) documentary by the BBC a while ago which covered fake goods (no fake flash memory, though) and the various risks they pose. The way this documentary approached it seemed to be readily understood. The documentary series is called “Fake Britain”, and it’s online here – http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b00rgghn/episodes . The one I watched was the first one (there are five of them), titled “Fake Goods”. I don’t think it’s viewable outside of the UK, though, unfortunately.

eBay continues with dirty tricks. Amazing. Sick. Denial. Fraud.

It’s about money – YOUR MONEY!

This site is too respectable. You are loosing a lot of scammers. The SOB’s are everywhere.

Duh! Do we really need new fake flash seller lists? It is obvious. You have said it over and over and over again. eBay not safe! eBay sides with sellers. eBay takes your money.

If you don’t like it, get even. Want to be nice? Well if you are nice, you will screw other people on eBay for the fake memory sellers.

FakeFlashAngels are good but if You want to take out the sellers, you need to be a FakeFlashCommando.

Rip the internet – expose the bastards.!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Don’t like what I say? Okay. Give your money to eBay and shut up.

Bought a 128 GB flash drive for $25 US? Kiss your money good buy. LOL! Grow up. Wake up. Let eBay keep your money or kick their ass.

  48. Overload. 😦

Seth a lot of people do not appreciate you, aggressive. The truth is without your team and the nasty tactics for known scammers on eBay the number of sellers able to continue would increase. Your guys are to be admired. Keep them working in the shadows. BTW, thank you for the update.

Kitty, there are not enough vistors to your site, helping others. eBay members need to contact other victims who left positive feedback for a seller. If they don’t buyers find out too late.

Since eBay only permits a member send 5 messages a day to other members we have a serious problem. More FakeFlashAngels are needed to contact people.

    Our team agrees with Seth.

The truth is hard to accept but Seth is clear.

Sorry but we can not spare people to help you respond to victims asking for help with refunds or information on trying to fix their fakes. You have published information for them to help themselves. They need to read, fight and help other eBay members.

Will let you know next week if we can help with investigations.

SOSFakeFlash is about to break an all time record in the number of articles published in a single month.

It is grueling work, hard on everyone.

We ask you the victims to do your part to help:

    a) if you left positive feedback for an eBay seller, please make sure you do follow up feedback. You can.

    b) if you stumbled on this site and as yet have not left negative feedback for an eBay seller, DO SO IMMEDIATELY after your testing with H2testw confirms you purchased fake flash memory. Do not delay. If you do there will be more victims like you. Leaving negative feedback does not risk your refund. The sad true is, negative or positive or neutral you will have to stand up and fight. If you don’t, your money is gone. The more negatives, the faster a seller is stopped.

    c) If you bought from an internet site off eBay, make sure to leave a comment on https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/report-a-fake/ to share your experience and to warn others. This site is not only for eBay sellers.

    d) This is important for eBay sellers of Fake Memory! You need to leave the keywords “SOSFakeFlash” and “H2testw” in your feedback. It frightens the sellers, it helps other eBay members when they search on the internet. Both words are needed to ensure victims reach SOSFakeFlash – Fast! There is strength in numbers, your fellow victims can not join in the fight, unless you warn them in feedback.

e)Awarness is KEY to preventing fraud. You need to help your country to become aware. Visit forums and internet sites in your country, warn them. Tell them about the most comprehensive internet site there is, SOSFakeFlash. There is no other site that has documented so many fraudulent sellers of flash memory.

We showcase ALL all items of flash memory sold by a seller, not just the ones reported as fake. It requires intensive investigation. We do it for you, our fellow victims. Did you know that victims find us…. even a year after they bought on eBay? Yes they do and they report in. As we keep records, we can still record their evidence.

f)The issue is entering it’s 9th year on eBay. It is not going to stop, unless buyers choose to fight back. Since we started this site, more sellers are being suspended. eBay is being forced to refund buyers. They don’t like it, but they have no choice, if eBay members protest.

    g) Never believe you can not get a refund. A lot depends on how determined you are. If eBay refuses to refund you in a dispute, contact your credit card if you funded with it and report the transaction as fraud. If you funded from your bank account, print out the information on your seller if recorded here, and visit your bank. Quiet a few victims on eBay have had success with the bank removing the money from PayPal. Note, they may require you to close your account number and will issue you a new one. We don’t have the details on why.

    h) as we struggle under the increasing load to get information out to you, the frauded buyer, we ask you to help. Do your part. Without you, more sellers will escape and will not be held accountable.

    g) SOSFakeFlash has NEVER removed a single alert. If a seller is caught and we can publish, it remains a record on the internet, permanently. Sellers do not escape their fake flash memory past, or the fraud they have engaged in.

eBay members need to be warned. A member can only sent 5 messages maximum a day. For this reason, a lot of frauded buyers are needed to rescue others. If this is not done, the seller continues.

The evidence is clear, eBay is not willing to stop the sale of fake flash memory. MP players, usb flash drives, or memory cards. There are too many fraudulent sellers. Only about 2% are reported to SOSFakeFlash. However many are stopped very quickly. How? By FakeFlashCommandos. Their tactics are not nice. But you can not blame them. It is an aggressive response to eBay’s refusal to address the problem.

If it was not for the “Seths” in this world, the situation would be a lot worse. They have stopped more sellers by their unorthodox means than respectable sites like ours. While some might disapprove, all we can offer are questions.

What does it take to end the sale of fake flash memory on eBay? The 9th year is approaching….

How many eBay sellers do we have to publish? Before eBay puts an end to the sale of fake flash memory that destroys so much data?

If you are reading this comment, you are a victim. Decide your action(s).

Strange as this might sound, your fake flash memory purchase and how you deal with it reveals the real “you”, the kind of person you are.
