Follow up: is Ebay actively protecting this seller of Fakes?
Using my daily limit of 5 ‘contact member’ I was able to warn & received replies from most of his victims that I had contacted over the first few days then abruptly all replies stopped???…(dare I suggest interception of my posts?)
Today on attempting to contact his latest buyer I received the notice pasted below. It would seem obvious that Ebay is doing it’s level best to prevent communication between both bidders & buyers to protect the revenue from their ‘power Fraudsters’
Attention!
We have determined you are trying to contact an eBay member with whom you are not currently involved in an open transaction. For the protection of the eBay community, we sometimes block these types of communication. To prevent this occurrence from happening in the future, we recommend the following:
*
If you are a seller, respond to all bidder questions before the auction ends.
*
If you are trying to contact the seller of an item that has not yet ended go to the item page and click the “Ask seller a question” link.
*
If you are the winning buyer of an item go to your My eBay page under the items I’ve Won section. Click the action drop down menu and choose the “contact seller” action.
*
If you are a seller trying to contact your winning buyer, go to My eBay and under the Items I’ve Sold section, click the action drop down menu. Choose the “contact buyer” action.
*
Reply to seller/bidder through personal email provider (if the sender has not hidden their email address).
Thank you for your understanding.

I bought 2 this kind of SDs labeled as 32G CLASS 6 from this vendor in ebay, but the SD cards turn out to be about 2G CLASS 2 only.
I tried to feedback as negative in ebay website. However, the ebay website refused me to submit. but ask me either change the feedback level or contact to vendor instead. I sent couple emails to the vendor, but got no response. Then, I input the bad comment as positive feedback to commit it.
If Ebay allows feedback as negative, then, a lot of people can avoid being deceived!
So what ebay responsibility should take?
red said
Dhuang, Not sure why you couldn’t enter a ‘negative’. There are 2 new negatives since you left your feedback. Can you still leave another feedback? Or, did you buy both cards in one transaction? Did you try entering as ‘neutral’?
You can leave followup to your feedback though. It adds a 2nd line and is more visible:
1) View your feedback (click on number in parenthesis next to your ID).
2) Scroll to the bottom of the page and click on ‘Follow up to Feedback Left’.
3) Find the feedback in question.
4) Under the ‘Action’ column is the phrase ‘Follow up’ which is clickable, click on it.
5) Leave your followup. It’s good to mention h2testw and/or SOSFakeFlash so others know where to look for help.

Update:
Had placed a warning for sunfeixia2009’s customers on my webpage.
Paypal sent this message today:
Hello Grump3,
We have concluded our investigation into your case and have decided in your favour.
We were able to recover $49.99 AUD, and this amount has been credited to you. Please allow five business days for this adjustment to be posted.
If you are due any additional funds, we will make our best effort to recover the balance from the seller.
If the seller’s account has insufficient funds to complete the refund owed to you, please be assured that we will take appropriate action against the seller’s account, which may include limitation of the seller’s account privileges.

Dear friend, I’m so sorry, the answer delay. I’m sorry to hear that. Maybe it was broken during the shipping. Can you copy 30G more documents to SD Memory, if it is because the chip can be damaged. We will agree to return a new one, if it doesn’t work. Firstly, you should post the item back to us.
When we recieve the item, post a new one to you at once.
My address:
zhiheng zhou
1A-24i Yujing Huacheng, Futian District,
Shenzhen City, Guangdong Prov,
China, 518000
Thank you.!
—————-
My Reply:
Yes, I can copy “30G more of documents” to this card If I wait around 7 hours, Bit slow for a “class6” wouldn’t you say?
Only problem then is only 2G will copy back out because the card is a 2G, class2 card that has been forged to display 32G. It was not broken during shipping!.
Am unable to return the card to you as paypal asked me to have it tested at an approved facility & when I sent them the result of this test Paypal then directed me to destroy & dispose of this counterfeit item which I’ve since done.
If you are really the honest seller you claim to be then I suggest you test these cards for yourself before continuing to sell them.
Google for ‘h2testw tool’ to check.

Despite having been informed of the card’s destruction above he sent another email this evening:

“I tried to feedback as negative in ebay website. However, the ebay website refused me to submit. but ask me either change the feedback level or contact to vendor instead.”
Found this interesting tidbit:
Only registered members can leave Feedback. Buyers must wait at least 7 days before leaving a negative or neutral Feedback for a PowerSeller who has been registered on eBay for at least 12 months.
here:
http://pages.ebay.com/help/feedback/howitworks.html
But, this shouldn’t apply to sunfeixia2009 as they have only been a “Member since: Sep-06-09”

Oh really?
Interesting…TechReporters would love that one! Can you document, with screen captures and send it in? Blur your id please from the captures.
eBay may say one thing but do another.
Doubt it is a programming error with their databases. A lot of their IT work is outsourced and subcontracted, but they follow the specs and code as they are told.
Questions to others, are you having this issue:
A) If so, when was the seller registered.
B) What eBay site are you registered on (your country registration for your id)?

This issue seems to mimic what has been going on or done with the knock off Ipods listed by the thousands on Ebay, claiming them to be 4,8,and 16GB when their only 2GB.
March 1rst,2010 found me receiving an unrelated item that broke less than 12 hours after I received it in the mail, yes from China and at best as a warning to anyone who might read this if the listing or the description in the listing is comprised of the seller assuring you in broken English that “you won’t have no problem with me I’m A-1 seller for many year” when in fact the seller has only been a seller on Ebay for a year or a few months at best well that speaks for its self.
Don’t take this statement as me telling you people that your idiots its just a warning Ebay has done their best to protect these criminals from China and these counterfeiters know what their doing when they do it then they try to play stupid when they get caught.
Either way if your in an auction site on Ebay and you look at where the item is listed if it says Hong Kong or some other city in China do yourself a favor and leave,I hate to bash people and don’t have it out for China but they have no ethics what so ever when it comes to business.
KittyFireFlash said
All of your observations are true, Tim.
China (mainland or used to be called “Red” China) is not what it once was. It has regressed in ethics to the pre Mao era.
There are honest people in China, the Orient and Asia. It is no different than in the Western World, honest people struggle to survive and maintain their integrity.
Also to remind people, we have received some of our best intelligence and information from China and also Oriental people from a number of countries. Without their help we would be very much in the dark. They are brave and courageous.
If you look at our categories for fake flash sellers and the counts on the left menu it is easy to see that most of the sellers are based in the orient. In particular, sheer volume and numbers of fakes.
Unfortunately you are just as likely to be stung locally. There are too many eBay sellers in the West who dream get rich quick and do not bother to research their product.
All of us are guilty, in that we did not research the cost of flash memory chips. But then, why should consumers be expected too? Do we research the cost of cotton for shirts, the price of plastic for beads?
For flash memory items, if you intend to buy on eBay you better research or you will suffer the consequences. Else we are indeed idiots.
Hmmm…
Self critism, a bit Mao and the struggle of the group to reducate. This IS one of our goals. The public needs to be educated on prices and how to sniff out fakes and false capacity. No choice. There is data loss pending and financial loss.
Now for eBay and Paypal, there is no mercy. None. This issue is now 7 years old. They did not stop the problem or prevent it. They whine that they can’t. This is Bullshit. They want and need the money generated from the sale of fake flash memory products, plain and simple. We the members of both eBay and Paypal matter little.
With all the sites in the Project we are forcing them into action, kicking and screaming all the way. Read Suspending eBay Fake Flash Memory Sellers. The Case Of Action vs Inaction By eBay Victims Of Fraud. Victims Stop Powersellers From Fraud, Not EBay!
It is a fact, only you the readers and victims can force them to change. We have seen progress, but only because all of you have been fighting back and making their lives a misery. Continue to do so.
Frankly if they were sincere, they would ban the sale of flash memory products on eBay. Period. Because they can not control it or prevent it. Also they do not warn or refund buyers for a known fake flash memory seller. They prefer to tip toe and erase the truth.
It is the duty call to all to prevent this. Too much harm is being done, to many people hurt, too much data being lost.

Thanks, will continue tidying up, after which I’ll look for a related target.
Am wondering if someone was trying to silence me…
Have been using a separate email account for over 6 years now reserved just for my Ebay communications & during this period it has not attracted a single item of spam.
Since commencing to contact others I’m now receiving regular phishing emails attempting to get me to open infected attachments…Coincidence?
KittyFireFlash said
Hard to say, Grump3.
This is a very dirty business. Nothing is fair. We do have new targets. At the moment the team is busy investigating new sellers.
When we say the situation is Out of control on eBay we are not kidding.
It is so bad most of the team is busy with new sellers.
If people can do only one thing – spread the message on any internet site or forum.
Buyers need to contact other people who left positive feedback to warn them! Test, Test, Test!
We are currently being overwhelmed by the number of fradulent sellers on eBay. It is sad and it is disgusting.
To anyone who reads this message…..

Have contacted a couple of his customers to see what develops.

“Dear grump3,
Hello friend. Just confirmed with the programs from the site that you gave me that it is a fake. Failed to write after a few GB…no where near the supposed 32GB. Told ebay and paypal…hopefully I can get a refund. Thanks a lot for making me aware of this. I could have lost tons of data putting it on a card that would potentially ruin it. Luckily it wasn’t a huge purchase and I’ll think twice about buying from CHinese buyers again. If its too good to be true it probably is 😛
