I had an open dispute against lingpao for a fake 32gb flash drive. I followed the procedure by contacting the seller, who at first said it was “impossible” as they do QC check before shipping….yeah! After an exchange of emails going nowhere, I decided to leave negative feedback and open a dispute. In my communication with eBay, I pointed out the massive degree to which fraud was happening in the USB flash drive arena and while I was at it, I asked them to look into the fake Sony 512gb drives that were listed with another seller. I mentioned to eBay that I had contacted Sony to verify that they were fake and told them they were being sold on eBay. Within hours, the 512gb drive listings vanished. Meanwhile, my communications with Lingpao went on daily and he/she wanted to give me a refund plus $5.00 in exchange for my promise to change my feedback. eBay sent me an followup email asking me how it was going and I took that opportunity to reply mentioning that lingpao was trying to extort positive feedback. That evening, I noticed that lingpao was no longer a registered user. Today, I received notice from eBay and pay pal that I had received a refund from eBay. All this happened within a week and a half. I might also note that in my initial dispute to eBay that I had no intention to even chance breaking any laws by returning the contraband and that I intended to keep it as potential evidence of fraud. On another note, based on what I read on this forum regarding warning others, everyday I contacted 5 of lingpao’s customers asking them to check their drives with H2testw and many responded with the same result…fakes, and thanked me for warning them. All in all, what started as a bad experience turned out to be good in my favor. I wish to thank sosfakeflash and all the bits and pieces that guided me in this endeavor.

    hola

    saludos

I also received the same email as Red, sadly I didn’t know the 32GB usb key was a fake till I received the key, loaded a bunch of files to it, then tried to copy them to my work computer and kept getting errors and noticing most folders had no files in them. After some googling, I found this site, ran the H2testw and got confirmation that it was a fake.

Sadly, eBay is being very uncooperative in refunding me. They are saying I have to ship the item back registered mail, which would cost more than the item itself. Has anyone managed to get a refund without returning the fake key?

    @Maria,

Did you report in to sosfakeflash? See report a fake tab. We are collecting information on ebay and this new protection available at some sites. We don’t know your ebay country of registration. Did you file dispute with ebay protection or paypal protection?

Your information is conflicting with other information received indicating ebay is being cooperative and refunding.

Please advise how you filed your claim. ebay protection or paypal protection.

We need more information from you.

I am in the process of a resolution with Lingpao right now for the purchase of a 32GB Flash Drive. I guess I’m lucky that my product never came because I may not have realized I had a fake. I think I made my purchase right at the time they got shut down by Ebay. They sent me an email making it sound like it was a misunderstanding that would be resolved. Fortunately, I saw reference to this website in other feedback of comparable items. I have put in a request for refund through Ebay. I will definitely be on the lookout before purchasing any electronics from China/ HongKong in the future. Thanks for making this website!

    Follow-up:

I was fortunate that for reasons I am not aware of, but likely related to what’s going on here, Lingpao was booted off of Ebay. I had not received my product after 30 days, so through the resolution center I got a full refund.

Surprisingly, I received the 32GB USB drive in today’s mail- 44 days after payment. I ran H2testw and got these results:

The media is likely to be defective.
    228.2 MByte OK (467512 sectors)
31.0 GByte DATA LOST (65035720 sectors)
    Details:31.0 GByte overwritten (65032522 sectors)
    0 KByte slightly changed (< 8 bit/sector, 0 sectors)
    1.5 MByte corrupted (3198 sectors)
1 MByte aliased memory (2048 sectors)
    First error at offset: 0x000000000acfd028
    Expected: 0x58af3ca50a0f41f1
    Found: 0x58af3ca50a0ffff1
    H2testw version 1.3
    Writing speed: 3.43 MByte/s
    Reading speed: 5.49 MByte/s
    H2testw v1.4

So I'm thankful for this website, and even though I cannot give negative comments since Lingpao is off of Ebay, I have learned a valuable lesson which I will share.
