On July 14, 2009, SOSFakeFlash issued: fleabase Ebay Fake Flash Seller High Alert Devious – China . Little has changed, private auctions continue and the fraud is current estimated to have reached over £100,000. eBay continues to protect this id belonging to a counterfeit ring. Following in the footsteps of the other ids, fleabase now offers 32GB fake usb flash drives!

The models sold under the eBay seller fleabase confirmed as Counterfeit, recorded with eBayer ID and eBay Item Number – Standard Procedure. Presented as listed at auction. Counterfeit items tied to criminal activity enjoy no protection. If you bought one of these items from fleabase, you should test immediately with the software H2testw 1.4 . Do not store any important information until you can confirm you have the advertised capacity (minus formatting overhead).
Should your device not report the true advertised capacity:
- Immediately attempt to move any data you have stored on it to another source. Be advised if you have stored more than the reported size from H2testw 1.4, you will not be able to recover it all – you can expect to see errors in the copy back.
- Immediately report to eBay and PayPal to add your voice against this seller.

Well I just got through with my experience with fleabase. I got a hacked
8gb Pen Camera” that was really 2GB. I complained to fleabase was told I could return for a full refund (minus what I had to pay to ship back to China) refused that stating that the seller would at least have to pay for the shipping back, got no responce. Filed claim with paypal after waiting a day, left negative feedback. The day before the deadline for them to responded to the paypal claim fleabase contacted me saying they would give me a full refund and let me keep the item if I would remove my negative feedback. I refused. fleabase never responded to my paypal claim and paypal refunding me 100% without requiring me to send the item back.
So my story ends well, and I hope it will help others as well.
Good Luck, and don’t give in, this fraud it’s illegal. It has got to be stopped but who is going to do it if not the people who are being ripped off?

This is a seller whose name describes his actions. fleabase is a serious problem. He is also an old fake flash seller.
The only people who can deal with fake flash sellers and shut them down are the victims. Do not expect ebay to do it for you.

I do not know if you have ever been attacked by fleas – it is unpleasant. fleabase is part of a documented counterfeit ring. If you want to end this seller, contact buyers. If you see private for the ebay item number – it is a fake.
The problem is that ebay does not help to address the issue. A person can only send up to 5 messages a day. It needs many people to warn others. It only takes 15 minutes a day of your time. Create your message in notepad, then copy paste in.
Chose a seller, fleabase is a good choice. Send a message to buyers to test with H2testw. They will also find our main site for more information. In 4 days you can send 20 warnings, and it is only 1 hour of your time! Consider it your contribution for finding this site.
We are seeing improvement. People are leaving the keyword SOSFakeFlash in their feedback or in follow up feedback if they left positive. They are finding this site and are getting help. Victims continue to file disputes with PayPal. More are getting refunds quickly. The more people file disputes and fight the easier it is for future victims!!!!
