October 2009 – SOSFakeFlash Battle Plan

Posted by KittyFireFlash on October 5, 2009

Welcome to SOSFakeFlash’s new “Public” notice board for strategy to continue purging eBay of fake flash sellers. You will always find it under Category: Battle Plan – Strategy. Also see: Using The SOSFakeFlash Battle Plan Bulletin Boards – How They Work – Rules

The most serious issues facing us:

  • An escalation in 32GB and 64GB false capacity flash memory pen usb drives
  • Getting the message out to international websites and forums, especially in languages other than English.
  • Ensuring that SOSFakeFlash is left in feedback so that victims can find help when they search on the internet.
  • Private auction listings
  • Email assistance requests for help with PayPal refunds
  • Email assistance requests for help repairing fake mp players, memory cards, usb flash pensticks.
  • Getting victims to contact other buyers for a fake flash seller!
  • eBay sellers changing their id names or using a new id the moment they get suspended.
  • eBay victims who change their feedback to get a refund and create MORE victims because they only thought of themselves and not others!

We are not kidding about the escalation for 32GB and 64GB fake capacity! Sellers are using multiple item listings and frequently private auctions as well. We need people to contact any buyers for these capacities and if they fail testing to report in immediately using the Report A Fake Tab. Early detection is key! Also patrol and leave suspect id’s as comments on this post. You can ask others to assist in contacting buyers for a seller on this article by leaving a comment. It helps people to focus their energy wisely.

eBay members are needed to contact others. We are seeing some evidence of improvement – reports from people who say “I received a message to test”. It helps detect new sellers, to investigate and enter the details into the database. Our fake flash eBay sellers lists are based on reports and also the alerts we issue. SOSFakeFlash has a zero tolerance policy, it takes only one confirmation for a seller to be entered. eBay makes it very difficult for people to warn others, one person has a quota of 5 messages a day, because of this, many people are needed! Read:

If you receive confirmations from a buyer, get them to join you in contacting others for the same seller! Tip. Stick to the same seller for at least one week, or make sure you put the sellers eBay id in your message so you don’t get confused. Sending messages can take less then 15 minutes a day, once you get the hang of it. It can also be fun to reach out to other members and very satisfying when you prevented someone from losing information.

SOSFakeFlash has pulled the rug from under many eBay powersellers, when victims join together! eBay and PayPal are forced to take notice when members unite.

I also got a response from ebay saying that Safe2star was no longer a registered user which its not true because they are still selling stuff on ebay…

    Dear Guillermo,

Thank you for writing eBay in regard to item 290353500861 (New 16GB GB
SD SDHC Memory Card Secure Digital Class 6) that you purchased from
seller . My name is Mylen and I appreciate the chance to assist you with
    your concern.

Guillermo, thank you for bringing this issue to us. Rest assured that we
will take actions regarding this matter. As of this time what I want you
to do is to continue with your case and please don’t forget to escalate
your case into a claim for you to get your money back.

    — Continue with your PayPal case
Since the seller appears to be no longer a registered user, I recommend
you continue your case in the PayPal Resolution Center. This can help
you resolve the problem with the seller or help you get a refund (from
PayPal). PayPal’s Buyer Protection covers up to the full purchase price
and original shipping charges on eligible purchases. You need to open a
case in the PayPal Resolution Center within 45 days after the listing
    ends.

  5. Special thanks goes out to Axel for bringing the fraud to my attention.
I followed Axel’s advice and found the H2testw software quite informative.
I of all people never expected to get caught in such a disgusting racket.
Here are my notes to date since the discovery:

You defrauded me. I have ran precision tests on the memory sticks you sold me through ebay and I want a full refund or I will report you to the authorities and fraud investigators. You will be criminally charged. This I assure you.
    !!*Caveat*!!
Return my money and we’ll just let it go.
    Don’t, and take your chances.

So to mention, I am quite active and vocal against ALL corruption, governments included.
Axel couldn't have contacted a better person to take hard core action regardless of the outcome.

On that note, be sure to check out the 5 clips on this linked page:
Lord Monckton states: "Shut Down The UN, Arrest Al Gore"

If you care one iota about the future of this planet, yourself, your family, you best watch this and be in the know as this is happening December 7th 2009.
    Pass it on.

    World government? Need proof?
The words out of the mouth of EU President Herman Van Rompuy.

" 2009 is also the first year of global governance with the establishment of the G20 in the middle of a financial crisis, the climate conference in Copenhagen is another step towards the global management of our planet".

Global warming is a scam. The EU and our own countries are geared up for the Dec 7th Copenhagen summit on carbon tax to fund the new world government.

Don't tread on me I say! Really, just don't………….

  6. My follow up feedback to ebay seller 647voc

    Follow-up by jetskidetailing (06-Dec-09 06:34):
sosfakeflash.wordpress DOT c om WARNING!! THESE ARE FAKES!

    *
    Follow-up by jetskidetailing (06-Dec-09 06:30):
Warning! eBay 32GB 64GB Fake Flash Memory!!! these are HACKED chips!!!!

Well? Where is my refund you fraudster! We’re far from done. You messed with the wrong guy and I am going to file a report with the police fraud department come Monday, then they can track you through ebay and paypal. Bring you some deserved justice.

  7. And another thing.
He knew I was located in BC as I corresponded with him regarding shipping fees to send two, then he writes:

    Sent Date: 01-Nov-09 21:00:33 EST
647voc said: If you wish to come local pick up you’re welcome.

Peter replied: There is no way for me to “pick it up” as I am in BC.
Please mail it to the paypal address provided and as agreed.

He lists his address on ebay as North York, ON, Canada, however when he shipped me over $100.00 worth of product (memory sticks) he didn’t include either insurance or a return address on the packaging. I suspect it is a fake address, and furthermore, it took 20 days to get from TO to BC.
I found this odd as I never ship less either of the two.
The packaging was perfect, a perfect fraud. Nicely sealed, very professional looking however to pull it off.
But found the little sticker on the 32 gig to be out of place so to speak as it looked like it was just slapped on. Nice hologram work as well.

Regarding eBay seller 647voc, did you send in the information required (see report a fake tab)?

We need this information to have him added to the fake flash seller lists. 1-4 is mandatory, the rest is helpful but not required.

20 days is very strange, if he should be in British Columbia. People move. He may have lived in Ontario at one point. If people do not update their eBay information for an id, the old information remains.

Perfect fakes? Packaging. Would those be Kingston DT150’s – the 64GB model? If so, have you reported to Kingston Technologies? You should contact them – if it was a DT150. You will find information at the local Kingston Website, generally under support. Peter, you should find Kingston extremely helpful. Have them send you an email confirmation. If you kept all the packaging etc, you might then wish to contact the RCMP.

If you have fakes with little hologram stickers, most of us are are too familiar those stickers. At the time we received our fakes, it didn’t mean anything to us. It does to old victims – 99% of the time it screams “false capacity”.

The art work for the items 647voc offers is identical to fakes we see from powersellers in the orient. The only way to be sure is to test for the real capacity.

20 days is a long time to receive an item if you are both based in the same area. We have noticed sellers trying to delay sending. The reason is to cut down on the number of days a buyer has left to file a dispute with paypal if they discover they received a fake memory item.

For ebay members in Canada, be aware that the police have issued a warning to consumers for online purchases. It was published by CBC News at their website. This holiday season, there are a lot of sales. Many reputable retail stores have websites, so you can order online.

Stay away from sites that do not have local retail stores during this holiday period for usb flash drives, mp players or memory cards. Protect yourself from becoming a potential victim.

No matter where you buy a flash memory item, you should test it for real capacity before using with H2testw. At the very least, you will have peace of mind, knowning that you can trust the item and not be afraid of data loss to come. If the item fails, you have spaced yourself from the horrible consequences that file loss brings to many buyers. Many do not have backup copies and their information is gone forever. We are not just fighting about money people lose, it is the data they lost.
