TweetyWrites Did you buy a false capacity, fake memory card, MP Player or USB Flash drive? Do you know another language besides English?

If you can write in another language SOSFakeFlash needs your help!

The message to warn people in their own languages isUrgent!. There is a serious exposure. Too many people do not know about the issue for fake memory or that flash chips can be altered to lie about their real size. It leads to data and file loss.

Can you help?

SOSFakeFlash just published the top 30 countries impacted by the purchase of fake mp players, usb flash drives and memory cards. None English speaking countries are listed below.

We need people to visit internet forums, Blogs and websites in these countries and to leave comments about the issue pointing to SOSFakeFlash for assistance: https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/ The issue on eBay is severe. False capacity items are invading every country around the world. People are losing information and data.

The FrankenFlash project is planning a new site. We need people who could translate the following article:

H2testw 1.4 – Gold Standard In Detecting USB Counterfeit Drives

https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2008/09/02/h2testw-14-gold-standard-in-detecting-usb-counterfeit-drives/

into their own language and send to us. SOSFakeFlash will send it along to the project to be added to the new site. Linking to the download source is not enough. This article explains why one should use the software and what it has to offer. At the new site people could write their comments to each other in their own language. Please sent an HTLM file or a word processing file to sosfakeflashdrive@gmail.com with your translation so we can include it as a page at the new site being constructed.

If you have a website or blog, you might like to write an article of your own and include some of our articles as links. This will alert people in your country to the issue. By also linking to us and our articles there will be trackbacks to your site. It increases traffic both ways. Many languages are not in the Roman alphabet, this presents a serious problem on the internet to promote awareness. If you have been a victim you will understand how serious the issue is. Please help your country, promote awareness!

The FrankenFlash project has targeted the following countries as high priority. If you know the language help to get the message out:

Spain
Turkey
France
Czech Republic
Italy
Germany
Belgium
Netherlands
Brazil
Israel – Done A person saw our message for help and created an article.
Croatia
Hungary
Latvia
Sweden
Portugal
Slovakia
Finland
Russian Federation
Norway
Greece
Ukraine
Poland
Romania
Thailand

The problem is Global! We need the awareness to increase in countries around the world. It is the only way to fight the issue. Your efforts in contributing your language can make the different.

List corrected, for Ireland and New Zealand.

The work load is extremely heavy. Hopefully it is not as bad as a recent typo where “brides” instead of “bribes” were being offered by fake flash sellers to change feedback. My apologies.

The languages for the countries are based on the top 30 countries we have on file.

Yes you will find fake flash memory in Pakistan and India. There was an IT article at a site in Pakistan recently on the subject, it was written in English.

India is a country where the problem is extremely severe. It is a country under reported on eBay. We do see a lot of people asking for assistance to attempt repairs for fake flash drives.

Urdu and Hindi are very different languages. Both countries have many different local languages. It is possible that an article in Urdu and Hindi would be ideal. Given the differences in script (non roman characters), it would be a good idea if people would write an article at a website, or forums, or local blogs with links to our articles.

In both countries, the issue for fake memory extends beyond the boundaries of eBay. It is found everywhere, particularly in local markets. You can even end up with a fake flash purchase on a bus ride.

Information definately needs to be published in both countries. Kingston is the favor brand to be offered. This also applies to Brazil. In India there is very strange usb fake flash drive sizing. The most strange are 40GB and 80GB. The false capacity seems to model hard drives, rather than what is traditionally seen for usb flash drive memory chips. Worse still is the actual size of the chips, they are so tiny – 128MB, 256MB or 512MB. CCore usb controller chips seem to be the most common usb flash controller chips involved. Money is hard to earn, anywhere in the world, the hardship of financial loss and data loss in both countries is rampant. Unfortuantely, there appears to be little information available or easily accessible in these countries.

While Pakistan and India did not make it to the top 30 eBay countries means little. If buyers there can not find us, they can not report in. If anyone is comfortable in writing in either Urdu or Hindi, please write an article! Put in links to our articles. What happens is something called a trackback. We will have a comment trackback on the article. Once approved it will then end up in search engines, and provide a reference to your site as well. This recreates a “bond” between the sites.

To write an article in either Hindi or Urdu for the new site, it is best you sent us a wordprocessing document or HTML page. If there are character issues, we will PDF the file and ask you to write a 1 paragraph description for the new site under construction. Search engines can read PDF files.

We know that a lot of readers have busy lives. We do too. An analysis of a year’s data makes it very clear, we need to focus on getting the message out in more languages.

In the past we did have sites that provided translation. They were helpful. Unfortuantely all three were attacked and sabotaged. The subject is not popular with many. WordPress.com provides the best protection. They are amazing! Their software is fabulous, their hosting top class. So for protection of the Project and also readers we now stay inside the wordpress.com fortress.

If you have any time, please write articles in other languages and put in references to access our articles. It is the only way to reach people around the world. They need to know about the problem, to protect themselves and avoid data loss that comes from using fake memory chips that have been digitally altered.

Shutting down eBay sellers of fake flash memory is important, but increasing the global awareness that such a problem exists is even more important!
