Needed: eBay members to contact any buyer who left positive feedback for toomanyles572! See information on how to contact below! Given the prices offered it is extremely likely victims have bought multiple items from this seller.
A victim reported:
I received a FULL AND IMMEDIATE REFUND WHEN REQUESTED from the seller, I have no way of knowing if the seller was aware that the goods were fake, they could have been duped too, they said their supplier had sent the wrong items.
It has been a learning experience if nothing else 🙂
The test results for toomanyles572 16GB USB 2.0 Thumb Drive Flash Memoy Pen Stick E, clearly reveal toomanyles572 supplier could not have sent the “wrong items”. It is not possible for a supplier to offer a 16GB flash drive penstick at a price allowing toomanyles572 to sell them at $15 US to eBay members.

toomanyles572 is registered on eBay as a business seller. Business sellers should know the true costs for genuine flash chips.
Opening the pen drive the victim found:
16Gb drive was actually 2Gb.
Chip inside was SAMSUNG K9GAG08U0D
The chip was confirmed at Samsung. 16G – bit. That works out to 16/8 = 2GB as 8 bits equal one byte. If you bought any item from toomanyles572 please test it immediately!

I was caught by this guy. I wasn’t expecting super quality for my money but something cheap and working would have been nice. I bought a supposedly 16gb unbranded drive. When it arrived it was a counterfeit “Sony Vaio” branded drive marked as 32GB on the packaging. H2testw shows it as 2gb of faulty memory that is perfectly useless. I’ve complained to ebay, paypal and reported it to Sony.
Ebay are clearly complicit in this conning of its members which is disgraceful but no surprise I’m afraid.
All credit to you guys and H2testw for your work.

Interestingly, I got paid back by ebay/paypal within hours of complaining. Clearly they knew something was up. I wonder if they contact all the other hundreds of buyers to give them their money back? I suspect not.
I posted an article about it:

Right menu bar – Top Posts.
You can also find it under the “Tools” category.
The alert design was modified last month to make things even easier, a reader just needs to click on the keyword “test” to find H2testw 1.4.
It’s one of the earliest articles at the site. SOSFakeFlash added a poll later on. It hasn’t received a lot of revision as the votes indicate it provides the information needed.
