SOSFaakeFlash2008-2009

SOSFakeFlash celebrates one year on the internet!

In 2008 at the end of August, members of the FrankenFlash project launched this website to provide information and assistance to victims of false capacity usb flash drives, memory cards and mp players.

The project was founded by both eBay buyers and sellers. The sellers were victim sellers and sold fake flash. They refunded each and every buyer in full and apologized. They also set the standards by which fake flash sellers on eBay would be measured. Surprised?

SOSFakeFlash was the first website in the FrankenFlash Project to launch on August 29th, 2008.

Instead of a birthday cake, we decided to have a campfire roast. Can you guess what we are roasting?

RescueEbayFakeFlashVictims

The best gift in fighting fake flash on eBay, is to warn other buyers of fake flash sellers, to stand up against against them, eBay and PayPal. Many victims have contributed to this site and offered their personal experiences and insights – to help current and future victims. You can too.

From all of us to all of you: Stand tall. Do not tolerate fraud or the selling of devices that cause data loss.

On a worthy year of service to all eBay users, may your power GROW until eBay finally realises these fraudsters MUST NOT be allowed to sell FAKE goods.

Congratulations, guys – you should be very proud of what you’ve achieved. You’ve created an excellent resource site, here.

Thanks to folks like you putting warnings out over the internet I have never been a victim of this problem myself, and for that I’m thankful. Forewarned is forearmed, as they say! (I first read about the fake flash issue at this link some years ago, and as a result I’ve never purchased flash media on eBay – http://schnapp.org/e-britain_ripoff/ . Since then I’ve made sure to always warn people against buying these things on eBay and any other places that they might be offered.)

Thankyou very much for providing a useful resource for warning others about the pitfalls of buying these things at too-good-to-be-true prices, and for always providing an interesting read as well. 🙂
