A new ebay fake flash sellers list is expected to be released on July 1, 2009.
www.kingstonusbcf.com has been confirmed by Kingston Technologies to be a site selling counterfeits. It is slippery and just will not die. Worse – it advertises in google and inserts into many websites including those in the FrankenFlash Project. We are not amused. Are you?
See the articles at http://fakeflashnews.wordpress.com/. Kingston is unable to shut them down as they are based in China. There is only one way to fight back. They use the internet, but so can we. Please visit any and every forum you can and broadcast that this site is BAD! Have victims report in to SOSFakeFlash or leave comments on the articles at the news site. We have testing proof on file. While not eBay, this is a site that needs to be stopped. SOS to all of you for assistance.

Why doesn’t Kingston simply require a caption regarding this pernicious site to all its buyers and vendors with every ad and mention of its products on eBay and Amazon? They can fax/web the word and in a few days do more than we individuals can in months. They should really take more of an active stand besides sitting back and letting victims (their potential purchasers!) do the heavy lifting! It also behooves them to protect their ripped off sales/profits and repute and name — especially if a fake flash’s corrupted data ends up injuring someone makes it to the indiscriminate press. Spell Tylenol?

To Scott:
Google on demand translation is much improved. It has the advantage of immediate translation that is current and better reflects any changes to the main sites.
ebay.totalh.com and fakeflashnews.totalh.com
used caching for translation and were limited in only being able to translate a page once every 10 minutes. The sites have a limited bandwidth and the translation used too many resources. There is no current plan to upgrade the space or bandwidth. The delay in page translation was also an obstacle to someone who needed information quickly. We see that many people already use local online translation services in their countries – preferring our main sites. See the translation tab for information on how to use google translation.
At some point we might look into reactivating, but the slow page access was also a serious problem so a new provider might be needed. As the sites are no longer active, the provider’s default for inactive sites brings up myfacebook and we can not prevent this. It is an inconvenience which will self correct over time.
There are many different issues with respect to fake and counterfeit usb flash drives, mp players and memory cards. The need to focus and zero in on them is the priority – the problem continues to escalate. Maintaining these additional sites required a lot of additional time. We are asking that people use online translation services in their countries to use our sites, instead.
