Posted by KittyFireFlash on June 24, 2009
eBay seller flea_auction demonstrates how fraud is easily carried out on eBay. Sellers of fake flash devices such as usb flash drives, memory cards and MP Players are skilled in frauding buyers. They easily manipulate eBay and know it’s weaknesses and exploit them!
SOSFakeFlash launches MP Player education week with this seller! Why? To demonstrate how a seller can continue to engage in frauding buyers.

This seller changed his id name to avoid detection. Now he has changed it again! So alerts should now read: “flea_auction aka gamers-auction aka flea-auction“. That makes for a very long title line. Will he change his name again? Probably. This a powerseller who thinks he is smart. Well in using private auctions, we can say he is intelligent in frauding. In his feedback where ever you see “private” instead of an ebay item number you are guaranteed he sold a fake flash item. This is how the game is played for persistent fake flash sellers on eBay. They take the longest to expose and they hurt the most eBayers. So what is he selling since he changed his id again? Have a look. This is important reading for anyone who bought an MP Player on eBay!

Pretty isn’t it? We would like to know just how anyone can sell a 16GB MP player for less then $40 US and make a profit.
Have a look:

At this moment eBayers are busy bidding. Hoping for a fabulous bargain. What can they expect? A fabulous fake and lots of woe when they try to get their money back.
Some will swallow the defective unit ploy. Others will send it back to have a good unit sent. Meanwhile the clock is ticking. The time to claim against a seller decreasing. Some will be bold enough to leave negative feedback. But who really cares? After all, there is no way to see what a buyer is complaining about in a private auction, there is no “view item”. Clever is it not? Diabolical really. This is how serious players in fake flash frauding on eBay operate.
To shut down a fake flash seller on eBay you need to be prepared to:
1. Test your item for it’s real capacity
2. Report your item to SOSFakeFlash
3. Leave immediate negative feedback indicating the true size and what the item was
4. File a dispute at PayPal
5. Search for any current listings for the same item being sold by the seller, go to the bottom and report them one by one to eBayOptional
6. Contact others who bought the same item and warn them to test. In private instead of view item, you still can contact buyers. Private should warn you that the item is 99.9999999% FAKE!
7. Check if your seller is listed at SOSFakeFlash, using the search box and typing in the sellers name to leave a comment and update people on your progress.
When victims fight back, these sellers are shut down. When they don’t the seller just continues to claim more victims, fraud more people and make a great deal of money. The choice is up to you.

We bought a Nintendo DS Lite from gamers-auction in June 2009. After it finally arrived, it only worked for about 2 weeks then wouldn’t turn on. We worked with Nintendo and they had us send them the unit since it was brand new and under warranty. We just got a call from Nintendo that the DS was counterfeit. They won’t repair it (of course). We are now trying to work with Ebay because neither flea auction or gamers-auction are listed anymore on Ebay. Any sugggestions about getting Ebay’s attention – my daughter bought it with her own money and we didn’t realize it was from a foreign site until we won the bid. Thanks.

We have been receiving email from people who bought counterfeit Nintendo items and also for games in general. While this site deals with usb nand chips in usb flash drives, mp players and memory cards – it is clear that the fake and counterfeit problem on eBay is wide spread and for many different items.
Technology items are alarming! Beyond our comprehension. It is out of control on eBay! Work with the brand names if you are a victim for counterfeits! Include any emails from them confirming you have bought a fake in your paypal claim!
We can not stress just how important it is for brand name items. They need your help! They also have the ability to use their legal arms to presure ebay. ebay is very worried. They should be! See http://fakeflashnews.wordpress.com/2009/07/10/a-chance-to-vote-for-more-ebay-fraud/ they are trying to get ebay members to sign a petition.
Desperation! They know members have had enough! So they are trying all sorts of nonsense to keep profit and sales. Avoiding responsibily and ownership.
File your paypal disputes! Increase pressure. Make sure to report to forums that deal with the subject matter, ie Nintendo etc. The internet is a powerful place. Use your voice and be heard!
