yt-technology just changed name to yf-tech

I “thought” ebay did not allow “FAKE” items! My niece listed a “Real” designer purse-and ebay would not allow her to list the maker name, called it “fake” and pulled the listing! She was MAD. So… I thought this was the same kind of thing and yf-tech (Yt-technologies)could not list the brand name. Ebay usually uses italics when listing it’s out of country sellers and I don’t bid on sellers from outside of u.s. I would NEVER have bid on this item had I done more extensiver research on the co. I was fooled by this listing and only noticed the ‘location’ of product as Hong Kong after the bid. I could not access the date of listing, as advised, because ebay has changed the seller/buyer info. availablity on listing formats as well. Could ebay be protecting this co.? Well I hope I’m one of the lucky ones and receive the item for my child w/o too much loss. Thanks for your hard work:-)

I just bought an 8GB player from yf-tech / yt-technology and it appears to be around 2GB max (plus other problems), and I got file corruption in windows beyond this amount and mp3’s would not show up on the actual player. I’ve contacted ebay about the matter, but as these sort of problems have apparently been going on for a long time, then i doubt they will do anything. However, after ebay get back to me, I will contact trading standards and the police about fraud… maybe this will give ebay a kick-up the backside (as yf-tech has sold over 30,000 units this year – and i bet the majority don’t have the correct GB size)

This seller is a scumbag and paypal is protecting them even though they continue to sell fraudulent merchandise. I have called numerous times about my dispute against this seller and the last time I had to speak with a supervisor who informed me that I was defrauded, that I am supposed to commit a crime and send this piece of junk back to a non-existent address in China, and that if I don’t I am a thief. That’s right, I, the person who was defrauded, is the criminal. What is this crap? Are we filling a class action lawsuit any time soon? Paypal and eBay are liable for being a safe harbor for fraudulent merchandise.

I bought 3 touch mp4 from yt, all of them is real 4gb, no problem. maybe some of his items have problem

To Bob,
What yf-tech does is they hack the firmware on the devices such that your computer recognizes them as having a higher capacity then they actually have. A memory chip has only so much capacity. By hacking the firmware, yf-tech is able to fraudulently advertise these devices at capacities well above their actual capacity. As a consequent, expect to lose data if you have more bytes of information on the devices then it can actually handle. For instance the device advertised as 8gb that they sent me tested at 1.8gb with h2testw. Even though my computer recognized the device as 8gb, after putting more than 1.8gb on data on the device stopped working properly by corrupting and deleting data on the drive.
Literally, ever single device that yf-tech sells has hacked firmware and are advertised at false capacities. Yf-tech, ebay, and paypal know about this and routinely receive complaints. Ironically, even though complaints are constantly being leved against yf-tech, ebay allows them to continue selling false devices under false advertising. yf-tech is comprised of low life scum bags and then should be throughly punished for defrauding over what 30,000 buyers? Wow, what a racket.

It took multiple emails and infuriating calls to the PayPal resolution center to get refunded. At first they told me that a 2gb knock off china pod advertised as 8gb was not significantly different then described. In disbelief I spoke with several supervisors who claimed that yf-tech didn’t commit fraud and that I would be guilty of theft if I was refunded and didn’t send the fraudulent device back to a non-existent address in China through the USPS which would constitute a felony. Though when I asked one supervisor if I could re-list the 2gb device as 8gb, he told me that this WOULD constitute fraud. Ironically, the supervisor didn’t find this odd at all.
After that insanity, my case was put into “Being reviewed by case specialist” and it stayed there for several weeks until paypal sent me an automated message demanding that I provide prove of counterfeit within 3 non-business days. That was very odd considering I was claiming that the item was fraudulent and not as described. It is beyond me, why I would have to prove that the device was counterfeit when I was claiming something entirely different. After this debacle, paypal put the claim into “being reviewed by case specialist” again and the case was quickly closed in favor of yf-tech because I failed to provide proof of counterfeit. I know laughable isn’t it? So I called in today and after being transferred to three different individuals in three separate departments I was told that I would be given a courtesy refund.
Words of advice, paypal will avoid refunding you at all costs. There automated system is idiotic. Most of there resolution center representatives are uneducated and arrogant. If your not getting anywhere with a rep, demand a supervisor. If your not getting any where with a supervisor ask to be transferred to legal. Repeat 3 to 4 times and some months later you should get a nice person on the phone and a courtesy refund. Have fun and fuck yt-technology or yf-tech.

To Martin,
Ouch! You are perceptive and clear. Your story is one that SOSFakeFlash wants to publish as an article to avoid it being buried in comments.
It also documents what we know. eBay and PayPal, do not care about members. Buyer Protection is a Joke. It is “spin” to resure buyers. They have no intension to live up to it, unless buyers like you demand they do.
It is sad. Small wonder then, that ebay continues to loose members and can not grow.
Unless eBay decides to address the issue, they will continue to lose members. Many victims stop bidding and buying on eBay because of what happened to them. They frequently deregister themselves fron eBay – Quit
The idea of a Complimentary refumd is insulting. eBay is attempting to sound like they are doing a special favor, to the victim. We have seen many ebay id’s that have high status being appeased with a refund. What about the rest of us ordinary folks?
It is clear to me, that victims must fight. Appeasment of indivual members is not acceptilble.
eBay has a duty to inform all buyers of fake flash memory items to warn them of inpending data loss.

DANG. I JUST bought one of these.
I had no problem with it being cheap, as long as it played music. I was kind of excited to get 8GB for under 20 bucks, and thought I was safe because it says they have 99% positive feedback. THEN.. I noticed after I bought it, the item in “my ebay” says “positive feedback received” next to it. Did it automatically give them positive feedback!? I am absolutely sure I didn’t do it.
This, and the fact that I realized I couldn’t find much info on this company made me start to wonder… and about 5 seconds of googling brought me to this page which I was not very happy to find! Probably should have done this before bidding. I guess my first online purchase ever = massive failure….

one more comment from me.. a correction: I now see that the positive feedback was left for me as a buyer, not by me to the seller. oops.. like I said, it’s my first time. lol

Folks, this seller is a nasty. Please assist by contacting buyers and warn them. Please. Pretty Please? SOSFakeFlash can not do it for you.
yt-technology changed his ebay id to yf-tech. It speaks for itself, fake flash sellers do this a lot to try and outrun their victims.
It’s pretty sick and eBay as usual does absolutely nothing.
eBay should do the same thing, eFraud is a better description for them.
Contact victims for this seller, warn them. Post about the seller any place you can on the web! The more pressure the better. Leave a record for the global community.
Something is definately wrong, recently there was a rebate for buying on ebay, buy $50 worth of items on eBay and you get a $10 rebate from PayPal. They are really getting desperate.
Perhaps if they actually hired staff and cleaned up the fraud, they might get more buyers. The automation at both eBay and PayPal is costing them big time. No computer programmes can ever equal real people. If they want to stay in business it is time they hire people and stop laying off employees. Didn’t know that dear readers, did you?

Well i bought one of these 15 days ago and havent even got the bloody thing yet, started a paypal dispute and i really don’t think this is going to help. any advice from anyone? as for paypal there a bloody joke, i sold a £300 jacket on ebay a few months ago to a buyer in canada really big thing it was the buyer started a paypal dispute saying all the inside was ripped (it was a un-wanted gift still in wrapping) paypal told him to send it back to myself with tracking….what he sent me was a old dirty t-shit in a normal sized envolpe!!! and paypal wouldnt do anything as they had a tracking number so they refunded the buyer!!!!!

Ross,
This seller is extremely bad and has as yet not been kicked off eBay. He is going to be show cased when we resume our nasty powerseller stories. Unfortunately are so many fake flash sellers in queue for alerts. It is insane right now…
What happened to you as a seller is really bad. There are crooks on both sides of the track. As for the Canuck who did that to you, he deserves to be paddled by every beaver’s tail in the country until he returns the money. It is sick.
You’ve demonstrated once again how PayPal drops the ball. Did you keep the envelope and photograph it? If you kept it, you might like to contact the UK Ombudsman Service about the jacket. See this article at our site:
for the fake coming from yf-tech you may have to wait for it to arrive before you can proceed if the seller does not refund you. Again the article above, should inspire and assist.
There is no such thing as “NO” with paypal. Those who succeed generally are those who will not accept no and keep at it. A lot of people just tire Ross and so give up. It is so important that everyone do not. The issue is being frauded, of forcing eBay and Paypal to live up to their spin on buyer protection and with each person who fights, it is easier for the next person.
Hang in there Ross. I would go after Paypal for the jacket as well if you kept the evidence, the mailing envelope.

to kittyfireflash,
i done all that and there reply was they have a tracking number from the buyer and proff of postage so thats all they require, the things people can get away with

the seller has now offered me a full refund after i left neg feedback, 50% before and the rest after with a little extra if i remove the neg and turn to a poss…..i would rather lose the £14

To Ross,
Maybe you should leave some followup feedback saying that you were offered a bribe to change your feedback.
You may want to also report seller to ebay for buying feedback. They may ignore but worth a try.

Interesting thread. I found this site minutes after purchase and got my money back. They want me to give them 5 stars. No can do.

I bought from yf-tech, as well. I bought three players. One dead player and two confirmed memory-hacked players later, I am negotiating a refund with yf-tech. They keep telling me to send them the merchandise back and THEN they will refund my money ten days later. I said no. I told them I am not shipping it back, and, as soon as I finish posting this, I am going to leave a follow-up comment on my hastily-left positive feedback. I complained on the feedback that the players didn’t play MP4s, as advertised. THEN, I found out about the memory hacks. I have “fixed” my own player. My wife wants me to wait until she has trouble to fix hers. Mine is now a 1.9GB player, when it was supposed to be an 8GB player.
My sister’s player died in the middle of a song and will not power on or charge, no matter what we do. I have informed yf-tech that I will leave a negative comment, but they have yet to answer me. I will come back here and let you know what happens.

I have bought several items from yt technologies and not had a problem with them, when I did have to send an item back it was promptly exchanged, no fuss and my new item workrd perfectly, lets face it, if you buy off sites like these you must know that what your buying is not kosher, who ever heard of an 8gb ipod for under a tenner, get real people.

I have bought the most amazing little camera off YT technology, and I have absolutey no complaints about my purchase. I also bought a sat nav and they bent over backwards to assist me when some countries were not on the SD card.
My only regret is that I want 4 more cameras for friends, and I can’t seem to get an answer from them? With all this bad reporting, have they stopped trading?
If anyone knows the situation, please e-mail me and let me down gently?
Kind regards,
Smiler

@Smiler,
Did you buy from eBay? At issue is “which” YT Technology. Our report is on an eBay seller id. The update on this id and the attempts to rename the id:
goodstore.2010 aka goodstore-2010 aka yf-tech aka yt-technology Ebay Fake Flash Memory Seller Alert – China. eBay Powerseller with 67759 FeedBack Score Bites The Dust For Flash Memory Fraud. Member Of the eBay XU GANG Counterfeit Ring.
Could be they are not the same?
