xprodeal Ebay Fake Flash Seller Alert – China
Posted by KittyFireFlash on May 1, 2009
xprodeal is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives, MP Players and memory cards. Based in China xprodeal has sold more than 4000+ items and is highly skilled at deception. You must test any item purchased from this seller to avoid the consequences of using a false capacity item! xprodeal is a high volume fake flash seller and evaded detection for quiet awhile.
If you want a refund becareful, xprodeal will ask you to change your negative feedback to positive. You can expect different approaches to getting you to change it. Watch out, the sympathy card as a favorite. Those who answer emails for this id, have onions under their eyes to assist in getting those tears to flow! Beware of excuses such as “defect” or my “big bad supplier deceived me”! Do not fall for “I am just a little guy, my boss will fire me, I need my job”.
Asking you to change your feedback is in violation of ebay policy! See: eBay – What To Do When Sellers Demands You Change Your Negative Feedback To Positive For A Refund Or Demands Positive As A Condition Of Refund – A Guide
If you want to stop him creating more victims – make sure you leave negative feedback upon confirmation of your testing results and put in “SOSFakeFlash” and “H2testw 1.4”. Contact people who left positive feedback and warn them to test. This is a dangerous high volume ebay fake flash seller with powerseller status.

I am happy to report that I was reimbursed by PayPal for a fake 16gb usb key I bought from xprodeal. I spoke to a PayPal supervisor and explained to her how the fake flash scam works and sent her links to this page as well as the site homepage.
I also contact 5 buyers a day who have received items from this dishonest seller xprodeal and tell them to test with h2testw …
I have suggested to Ebay to have a header on pages where flash based items are sold which would tell people to reserve posting feedback until they test with h2testw. I hope they will adopt this idea. It is a simple solution to the fake flash problem.

I have the names of about 15 other buyers who were scammed by xprodeal … can i post them here or do they have to contact the site themselves ?

Xprodeal is selling all his fake stuff in “private” auctions now … so I and some other people are trying to warn the buyers … we can contact 5 people a day and are hoping to do something about this terrible situation.
Eric said
Xprodeal is getting hammered now with lots of negative feedbacks for hacked flash items … I have been contacting my 5 people a day and it seems to be paying off … I hope he gets banned !

I am one of his victims. But now he is going to be a victim of a fairness.
I am contacting his buyers also. I helped 2 people to claim their money already. Hope to help more.
I have a dispute right now with him and he talks like don’t understand what is the matter.
Like an “inglorious bastard” I will be cruel to him.
I even enjoy to fight back with rubbish like him.

Something interesting happened tonight.
Performing a search on ebay for ’32 GB SD’ resulted in all kinds of sellers from China and HK with their fake cards listed. As pictured above, ’32 GB SDHC’.
I then reported to ebay all of the 32 GB SD cards listed by xprodeal. I’ve got a confirmed fake.
Now when I do a search for the same string, I don’t see any of the fake cards from China/HK listed.
The item listings still exist if you view ‘all items by seller’, but they are not showing up in the search.
I confirmed these same results on a different computer.
RLC said
I just did a query on 32GB SD card and get 32 hits and all belong to this seller..
EBay does take a while to completely take down listing. The prebuild response to queries to reduce load on there servers. They also give the buyers a while to respond to community complaints. If they do not get a satisfactory reponse then then they remove the listingl.
red said
Thanks RLC. My bad. The difference was in the search string ’32GB SD’ vs ’32 GB SD’. Makes a big difference.

Keep working on contacting buyers for xprodeal.
Cooking up something nice to release here soon. The existing alert is old.
Do you know when the first report came in against this seller? April 2008. Powersellers like this who use private auctions think they can live forever. Can they? Only the victims of xprodeal can have him shut down.

While I do hope Ebay takes Xprodeal offline isn’t it a bit absurd when you think that his punishment is essentially to “cease and desist” and he is not subject to any legal sanctions at all.
Its like a bank robber who is caught and his punishment is to be told to stop robbing banks in the future.
Ebay really has a flawed business model when it comes to this sort of problem.
Eric said
I should add that the bank robber in question gets to keep the stolen money.

Does anyone know what it takes for Ebay to ban someone … now just this month Xprodeal has 78 negative feedbacks and about 30 neutral … most for hacked flash devices and cards !!!
What is Ebay waiting for ? Its a terrible situation … so many people getting scammed and losing data and Ebay doesn’t care !
RLC said
In response to Eric’s question. The cynical response is when the seller costs Ebay and Paypal money.
The good news is that Ebay is increasing the DSR rating bar in April 2010 which may improve the situation. However for sellers such as Xprodeal who know how to manipulate EBay may not be effected by the new standard.
http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/seller-non-performance.html
Extract from this article.
If you receive an excessive number of cases or negative or neutral Feedback, you may be considered performing below standard.
…so the key to getting for a seller to be suspended is a low DSR. So people leaving negative feedback should also give low DSRs in all catagories to get Ebay attentions.
Eric said
This is a good one——–> I tried to post a question to ebay answer center asking why xprodeal was still allowed to sell on ebay and the customer service has threatened me with suspending my account because i posted to the wrong place ! LOLOL
“Hello vipsoul61, Recently we became aware that your eBay registered account was involved in the following activity: Posting auction reports or user violations. To report suspected violations, please use our online forms: http://pages.ebay.ca/help/contact_inline/index.html which is not permitted at eBay. This is a copy of your post:
Why is powerseller Xprodeal still allowed to sell on Ebay ?Posted: 20-01-10 16:56 ESTvipsoul61 (18 ) Xprodeal has been selling hacked flash items for over two years and has not been banned by Ebay. Hacked means they are programmed to show higher capacities then really exist such as a 2 gig sdhc card showing32 gigs. This is fraud and Ebay is dont nothing about Xprodeal …just this month he has 83 negative feedbacks !
For example: “Hacked fake. Does not work. Seller knows but continues, ebay does nothing. from buyer troffa1
Or: “FAKE ITEM. seller sent me a 2Gb pen drive oversized to 32 Gb.Visit SOSFakeFlash from buyer bmelro
Why does Ebay permit this to continue ?
We realize that you may not have been aware there was a rule against this activity. It was not removed. It was held in the review basket. When this happens to a commenter, be patient. A Human will release.
BTW I did what you did once and the same thing happened to me.
Red balls? I hope they are his toasting on fake memory chips! Xprodeal needs his score to continue to drop. We need many red balls as possible to keep appearing. It alerts other buyers. His score drops more. If it continues to sink then eBay will be forced to stop him.

Ebay is closing down the forums where users can post anything other than positive comments about the Ebay experience. They are also putting into place policies that will allow users to express anything else beyond a postive experience with EBay. To me it sound like they are implementing a censorship policy and spin policy similar to what is going on in China.

Xprodeal now has 102 negative feedbacks and 35 neutral this month ! Still chugging along selling his garbage on Ebay…

Yup, I got suckered into buying two 16gb microSD cards from this seller thinking the price was right. My fault for not doing my homework on this seller or the product. The cards wouldn’t work in my devices and crashed. It wasn’t until after that I did a little search on Google which led me to this site. I’m testing the cards as I type this and so far the first one shows it’s a fake at 2gb. I’ll be leaving negative feedback and fighting for my money back.
RIP xprodeal

Xprodeal is going underground for now … no “private” auctions … but he will start again when he thinks the heat is off … just like he did last time.
He seems to be very good at manipulating the pitiful Ebay system.

Negative feedback was left for this clown and I have a dispute open with Paypal. After exchanging several emails I quickly grew tired and bored with the phony sympathy in his copy & paste responses. He claims to know nothing and blames everything on his supplier. He also tries to come across as the “helpful seller” that wants to try and resolve the issues from using his hacked memory storage. This is all cleverly crafted to stay within the dispute process. I pointed out the fact that he is a thief and has committed fraud against hundreds of people by selling his junk.
Doesn’t eBay or Paypal have any sort of history on this seller? I guess the money he brings in for them speaks volumes louder than his criminal activities.
Eric said
Xprodeal is a very sneaky and tricky thief … its really out of control and frankly quite absurd let someone like him keep defrauding people … … Ebay and PayPal are not exactly covering themselves in glory …

Please leave ‘H2testw’ or ‘SOSFakeFlash’ in your feedback or feedback followup to help other buyers. Followup can even be left on negative feedback. Gives you 80 more characters to leave more info.
We could use everyone’s help in warning others. Please send 5 messages a day to xprodeal’s buyers who left positive feedback. See: https://sosfakeflash.wordpress.com/2009/09/11/how-to-warn-others-on-ebay-as-a-fake-flash-angel-fight-back-against-fake-mp-players-memory-cards-usb-flash-drives-a-guide/

xprodeal is having a “paypal” problem … hmmmmmmmmmmm I wonder ? See quote below from a negative feedbacker …

Another comment that is very interesting for xprodeal:
To readers, when you see strange characters for file names etc… it is not the chinese language. It is a sign of file corruption. You will see this when your computer crashes or freezes and some files are corrupted. Binary gibberish. It is not chinese.
It is also a sign of an older fake model, possibly icreate usb controller chips involved. Usually people will be forced to reform as the files can not be erased. The cycle will repeat. Over and over again.
So xprodeal is really scraping the bottom of the fake flash barrel these days. The only good news is that if they are old fakes, the chips are usually better quality and can be repaired more easily.
People are advised not to revise their feedback for a refund! If you do, then you defeat the efforts to kick his ass into eBay fake flash prison where this id belongs, suspended.
Only eBay victims can stop fake flash memory sellers on eBay. Use your negative to send a message. Do follow up feedback for a positive. It matters. It counts. It is forever in the sellers record.

This is the answer i received today from xprodeal: (i received my sd card 32gb yesterday but it doesn’t work properly – my brand new camcorder can’t write or read the card at all. I have another sdhc card that works perfect!)
After investigation, i found this website. I did’t give feedback yet on ebay.
“thanks for message.
the card is class 6.
but i am wondering is the card can be read,or sth else?
could you plz tell me more about the problem?
i will try my best to help you.
long for your reply.
have a nice day”
What is the best way to complete this buy?

“hello
thanks for emailing me to let me know the trouble
you are a nice person
i am sorry for any inconvenience
i don’t know why it likes this
my supplier told me that all the items are detected before sending
i am so sorry
could u please send it back to me
and then i will contact my supplier
when i get it
i will give you a full refund
any questions please email me
best regards”
This is the second mail after copying the report from H2testw to xprodeal.
red said
De Kuup,
You do not want to send the card back for a number of reasons:
(1) cost to you,
(2) they could claim that they never received it and never give you a refund,
(3) evidence is out of your hands,
(4) time … you have a limited time (45 days from date of transaction) to open a dispute/claim.
If you have not done so yet, do not delay, and open a dispute/claim. You do not want to miss your time window.
Eric said
5. Xprodeal will sell it to someone else. You are a nice person ! LOL
Hi … De Kuup … ask Xprodeal 1. why he was selling in “private” auctions. 2. Also ask him if he contacted all the people he sold the “defective” cards to … to warn them to test the cards with H2testw. You are a nice person ! LOL
Now that would be a new one ! You are a nice person ! LOL

Eric, you are right.
Fake memory sellers in orient have a long history. They treat each victim like it is first occurance, play stupid. Also stroke victim…you are a “nice person”.
Sob! Sob! Crocodile tears. Most buyers are decent people. Exactly what a fake fake seller is going to milk.
This shit has been going on for years on ebay. If people are “nice person” then it continue forever man. Ever.
xprodeal stinks. He knows what he is doing, duh! ebay buyers are so trusting, foolish and a bit dumb. Ha! That includes me.
Anybody who is dumb enough to send it back deserves what they get – mostly zero refund. They also need a kick in the pants! xprodeal and others will just sell it to somebody else, they all do.
I use http://toolhaus.org/cgi-bin/negs for the sellers reported here. The negative fb? A lot of people whinning and complaining they sent the shit back and did not get a refund. Some suckers actually close a paypal case because the seller promised a refund. You close, you get screwed!
private action = fake fake fake, wake up people! LEARN. If you think ebay and paypal care…you are really dumb. LOL!
Keep at it Eric! xprodeal needs to go down!
De Kuup said
Okay, i opened a dispute and put this message in it:
“Hello,
I will not sent my item back because you can say you never received it and you can sell the fake stuff to somebody else. I just want my money back from you!
I did a little investigation and you are well know as a counterfeit seller.
My sd-card = fake!
Why do you sell all sdhc-cards in private auctions? Do you have to hide something?
I am not the only person with this problem, you are very aware of it.
If every buyer would test his card with H2testw, you would receive lots of claims! “
Eric said
I got my money back from Xprosteal without sending the fake drive back. I called PayPal and spoke to a supervisor and told the person the situation … and I was refunded.
