We need to focus on the issue. The FrankenFlash Project requires proof. To connect seller id’s we need mailing addresses, email addresses, names. We also need testing results and information. Only then can we say seller id’s are the same.
It makes the work very time consuming and hard, but it is necessary.
Until Kingston and or eBay address and investigate the issue of counterfeit DataTraveler 150’s having been sold on eBay – it is best just to stay away from them until it has been sorted out. eBay has access to seller names and addresses and they should be the ones to examine and correct.

The full story is: I started to buying on the ebay (first buy) I saw this cheap flash drives, i checked home in hungary the prices. I thought its a good business to buy.I was bid for 3 flash drive from the same seller (minggege99). I won them both. (i was happy)
I got an email fromt he seller about the shipping details. I thought it was fast.
After this i just wrote an email for the seller. And i got answer but not to my question!
It was something about his paypal review… (i started to thinking)
i was looking for informations about the flash drives on the internet and i saw a warning that there are a lot of fake flash drive sellers. Usually they sell the fake scandisc and the kingstone 32gb drives.
I bougth the last one.
I typed his name to the google and i saw the warn about this fake seller too.
When i checked the name than i found this webpage, and i got fast help from you all.
I didn’T get the item yet because i just purchased 7 days ago. I am sure ill get fake one or i won’t get anything. (its my lucky)
I wrote for the guy emails but he don’t answer anymore to them.
I try to figure out how to get back my money form the paypal, it will be easier with your help.
If i get the flash drive i promise i’ll test it and i help you in the confirmation about this fake seller. He already removed from the ebay.

Yep, I did it too. Got a fake. I think it had less than 1 Gig from an advertised 32 Gig. Worse, I think after putting it in, I lost my cd/dvd drives. There is a microsoft fix for that, but nonetheless, was very worrying. At any rate, Paypal refunded the money without asking for the fake drive to be returned. ABESTPARTNER0 never responded to any request. Good luck all.

My item was also a fake (capacity ~40 MB). I opened the PayPal claim -> no success.
Details:
Item must by send back to the China. PayPal requests TRACKING NUMBER to validate I have already send it (required to be qualified for refund by PP).
The price of sending it back:
– without tracking number ~1.5 USD -> PayPal WILL NOT refund any money
– with tracking number (e.g. by DHL)~50USD -> PayPal WILL refund money
So I definetively wasted my money and nor Ebay nor PayPal helped me !!!

They wrote me this, i got to send it back at my own fees. After this is saw in the status field that they waiting for the tracking numpers so i wrote again:

The review was just completed today and as Blogger123 first suspected at the very begining – one person many id’s.
We hope the Kong Hong Police will pay Lee Wai Bun a visit to find out more – who is involved, where are these counterfeits coming from and how did they get packaging and usb shell casings that looked real.
Kingston Technologies probably would like to know more too. It hurts their brand name.
Meanwhile both eBay and Paypal can not pretend they are not aware of counterfeit usb flash drives being sold. It is now 12 months since eBayers first went on the warpath – fed up. It is 8 months since the first website went public.
We know they read SOSFakeFlash too. So let them know exactly what you think. Here and in your emails to them. If anybody has a hard time, make sure to paste in the url addresses to posts that concern you and your seller – if they need reminding.
People keep asking, when will eBay do something…

i have got two questions. do we really have to mail the items we got. for example, can you put papers, pens or something similar in the envelope and mail it to this seller, enter the tracking info for the item, and get your money back?
can paypal, on the count of the tracking info number, know what you had send, and will they refund you immediately after you enter the number, or will you have to wait until the item reaches the seller???

of course, but in this particular case, there is really almost no chance that the seller will pick up the item, beacause he is neither a member of ebay anymore, and the address must be fake (not his) to begin with. So if the item reaches its destination, which can be checked with the tracking info, giving a refund would be a natural thing to do. So the package arrives, but it really doesn’t matter what’s inside, nor to paypal beacuse they can’t possibly know whats inside, nor the seller who isn’t about to pick it up 🙂 but it matters to us, because instead of risking the law and paying higher prices for the customs check, we can just send a few paperclips or a cd which weigh less, don’t need a customs check, are not a counterfeit product and are smaller in size, so by default it is much cheaper and safer for us.

This seller was part of a counterfeit ring and if I remember correctly over 4,600 items were sold by the trio. eBay is taking heat from Kingston Technologies. They along with other brand names are fed up with eBay. eBay is damaging their reputation by allowing fake flash sellers to continue selling counterfeits.

The choice is yours, everyone. True, it is a fight with many rounds in the boxing ring. But you, the little person can make a difference. Many have recieved refunds. Some very easily, after others fought tooth and nail on their behalf.
Superman won. He refused to allow fraud. Okay, it was a lot of effort but he at least knows he did not let the fake flash sellers get away with it, or eBay or PayPal. Obviously superman is not his real name or ebayer id. He chose his identity for the site. It was a good choice!
