honchai9974 Ebay Fake Flash Seller Alert – United Kingdom

Posted by KittyFireFlash on March 6, 2009

honchai9974 is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash Kingston USB drives. Based in the United Kingdom, honchai9974 has been identified selling Kingston Counterfeits in multiple units mode per listing. Not confirmed but recently sold are “REFURBISH 4GB SANDISK EXTREME IV CF CARD” using a picture for 8GB. This may be an oversight but very odd. SOSFakeFlash does not know if “refusbished” means reprogramming to the real size or not.

honchai9974 has unfortuantely trapped himself, and we have a serious message for eBay and Paypal regarding Kingston Counterfeit flash drives. This is one article you just can’t pass up reading!

The case of this seller is intriguing. In question are 32GB and 64GB flash drives. honchai9974 first sold “BRAND NEW 32GB KINGSTON FLASH MEMORY CAN VERIFY ON-LINE”, later 64GB Kingston drives. Confirmed is the 64GB.

What caught our interest about the unconfirmed (as yet) 32GB flash drive?

honchai9974 tried to reassure buyers for this drive:

32

honchai9974-1

and put in this url address to the listing:

honchai9974-2

So we took him up on his offer and went to: WWW.KINGSTON.COM/CHINA/VERIFYFLASH unfortunately it was in Chinese so we translated it: WWW.KINGSTON.COM/CHINA/VERIFYFLASH – english

This is what we saw:

Verification Info - 2GB is Clear

And that matches perfectly with Kingston’s colour coding for the Datatraveler in this series: Lime/Green is 2GB! Okay then why does the packaging say 32GB? Well at this site they say:

However, like other quality products world-wide company, Kingston in the Asian market rate of high-brand recognition so that it will inevitably be forged. Kingston has found counterfeit brand imitations.

In order to protect the interests of customers and Kingston high-quality brand image, we are here to provide a verification that you can immediately buy the Kingston products are for the genuine website.

So those are the words from Kingston directly.

Hello eBay and PayPal, are you paying attention? SOSFakeFlash doesn’t think we can can make it any clearer to you. We think Kingston makes it very clear to you. eBay is littered with Kingston fakes. You should be able to find an employee to review the listings for Kingston. And it is more than obvious here that PayPal should refund any buyer of a Kingston fake immediately and without question. No nonsense please about having a third party appraiser to stall or hang onto the cash. Kingston is the appraiser, the colour coding is the appraiser. Victims can send you the test results from H2testw 1.4, but you have absolutely no wiggle room here!

eBay and PayPal – Do not attempt to avoid refunding any buyer from honchai9974. Or from any other seller on eBay that has sold Kingston Fake USB drives. It is Your responsibility eBay to ensure that counterfeits are not offered for sale on eBay, whether in Flash Techology or in other merchandise. You are on record, eBay in saying you had 2,000 employee’s engaged to fight fraud. You can surely spare one to patrol for counterfeit band name usb flash drives, it does not take a Phd education – if housewives and truck drivers can be trained in the FrankenFlash Project to be very sharp detectives in a flash (pardon the pun) you can do it to. PayPal, you had better NOT advise that ebay victims return the counterfeit items to the fake flash sellers involved. Instead as we have advised before, you can offer an additional refund (on top of the full refund for item and S/H) to have the eBayer send them to you, so you might send them where they should go – to the brand name manufacturers with full details on where they came from. That would demonstate that you are taking an ethical approach to address the problem. You are also advised to desist from the claims game of time windows.

I did not know about this problem until after the fact. I purchased TWO DATA 310 256 gigabyte flashdrives from a seller in China – that should have been enough warning in it self except I had not had problems with other sellers.
After I sent the money via paypal; shortly after I did, I was sent a notice from ebay that the item had been pulled and the seller is now been removed from ebay by ebay. The notice states if I had paid the seller to immediately contact paypal and file a claim. Now that where the screwed part comes in. The money was “sent” last July 2010 and Paypal havs been running me around since. I also found out Paypal “sits” in the money for TWENTY ONES DAYS FOR INTERNATIONAL SALES; so PAYPAL has been the one refusing to return my money as a buyer. This is this seller sent something via registered mail and now Paypal says wait for the package WTF..
Ebay and Paypal are the SAME COMPANY; Ebay bought Paypal and OWNS IT..
SO far to this date I still don’t have my money and PAYPAL STILL HAS IT..
