If you are trying to repair a counterfeit flash drive but are confused or have not succeeded in doing so, there is good news. A new site in under construction to assist victims of fake flash devices attempting to turn false capacity flash drives (fakes, counterfeits) back into usable flash drives.

We’ve noticed increased traffic for people searching for solutions to repair their fake flash drives. The new site is being built. We have received some solutions but they are still few. It you succeed in repairing your drive from information found at this site to help you, please take a little time and send us your solution (see below). Help us to help others climb out of the fake flash pit.

The objective of this new site is to provide information on the subject and solutions with steps victims of fake flash can follow to reprogramme the devices. This new site will be educational and solutions oriented. SOSFakeFlash reports it will not be a download site – it will have links to sites that offer software. It is too early to tell if it will be possible to document all the flash controller chips as there are so many – it will also take time to build. To succeed in reprogramming fake flash there are common principals that can be extended to many different models. To help people understand and succeed – will be the first goal.
If you are a person who has succeeded in reprogramming a fake, please send your solution to SOSFakeflashdrive@gmail.com We are interested in your steps. Also the VID PID information you have, the program you used and if you purchased on eBay, the name of the fake flash seller and eBay item number to match against our database.
The earliest uptime for the new site will be after December 22nd, 2008. We will announce the url address as soon as it is available.
