Toward A Fake Flash Drive Free World – No More Counterfeits – No More Data Loss

Alert – qiongzhuzhijia – Ebay Fake Flash Seller

Posted by KittyFireFlash on October 24, 2008

qiongzhuzhijia is an eBay seller of Counterfeit flash drives. Based in China, qiongzhuzhijia sold more than 850 drives october 2nd to October 16th, 2008. Selling 12 different flash drives from 8GB to 16GB, this seller is being found out for his fake flash. He is using blackmail and threatening buyers. His comments are disturbing and troubling – making previous powersellers caught in fake flash dealings appear to be proper ladies and gentleman with civilized fraudulent behavior in comparison.

If you bought a drive from this fake flash seller, test immediately! Leave negative feedback immediately. There are going to be many victims of fake flash and they need to be warned! Also report a confirmed fake to SOSFakeFlash immediately!

When first reports of fakes appeared in FB seller tried to claim the drive was fragile.

Reply by qiongzhuzhijia (Oct-12-08 06:04):
electronic product very fragile,ANY PROBLEM GIVE FULL REFUND!!!!!!!!!

This appeared quiet a few times.

Flash drives are normally not fragile. Many survive an accidental washing in the laundry. The chips can withstand a direct fire for 2 minutes and even 10 hours submerged in a bottle of coca-cola (acidic). Flash chips are made from the same materials as the memory chips in your computer and we all know just how hot they can get!

As for giving a full refund, this seller is currently being reported as demanding positive feedback – first! Report this seller to eBay and forward any communications demanding this – immediately!

We find this sellers responses to buyer feedback is disturbing.

November 15th, 2008 – we have 5 eBay listings confirmed fake.

October 23rd, 2008 – we have 2 eBay listings confirmed fake.

I bought a “16Gb Samsung” from this guy. It turned out to only have a 4Gb chip on board (SpecTek FBNL52A32K3W2) with AU6983HL controller. I couldn’t get any of the MP tools to recognise it in order to re-flash it to the correct size.

I found a reference to a HP Tool, designed for their DriveKey sticks to make them bootable, which seems to have done the business for my stick.

    http://h20000.www2.hp.com/bizsupport/TechSupport/SoftwareDescription.jsp?lang=en&cc=US&swItem=MTX-UNITY-I23839

I simply ran the HP Drive Key Boot Utility, and told it to make the stick bootable, and not only did it put a bunch of files on there (which I promptly deleted), but it changed the capacity of the device to it’s correct 4Gb (from 16Gb). I didn’t get the opportunity to specify the size, so it either works it out itself, or it always selects 4Gb, I’m afraid I don’t know.

Unlike an MP Tools flash which properly fixed my other stick (an 8Gb, really 2Gb stick from Lianghk2007), the HP tool does things slightly differently. If you look at the drive with the windows Disk Management tool, it’s capacity is still set to 16Gb, however, it now has a 4Gb partition (with 12Gb unused space). The 4Gb partition passes the H2TestW test no problem. I wondered whether the HP format might be a good solution for those sticks that people can’t re-flash properly.

I got full refunds from both Lianghk2007, and qiongzhuzhijia as soon as I reported them to eBay/PayPal.

    Just received (few of days ago)one of qiongzhuzhijia’s 16Gb drives. It’s testing at 3.9Gb with H2testw v1.4
Just gone to check the listing but he’s no longer listing any pen drives, just jewellery. Can I still report him, or is it too late?
He has just sent his postal address for me to return it this afternoon, but after reading advice I obviously won’t be doing.

At October 25th, 2008 ebay fake flash seller qiongzhuzhijia unleashed approximately 2000+ drives. We are not suprised he has pulled his fake flash head back into his shell.

    He sold £17575 in goods,

paid £699 in fees for selling and £444 in feeds for items not sold.

We think readers can draw their own conclusions on who benifits from fake flash selling. The losers, or should we say, “victims” are eBay Members.

It is becoming a new and very serious change in pattern for fake flash sellers on eBay. Dump with alarming speed over a very short period of time, stop and tip toe back into the shadows. If not suspended or removed from eBay – return for another round of fake flash selling. If suspended or removed, set up a new selling id to begin another round…

Yes report him. But we also advise any person who bought a fake from him to contact other buyers to “share” the purchase experience and warn them to test their drives. The only way to break a fake flash seller or ensure you can get refunds is in numbers.

Feel free to dole out to eBay and PayPal the same level of grief and frustration you have experienced. They most decidely should not be deprived in “sharing” the experience you have had.

    To Lorraine,

See your private email address, we’ve sent a few emails to you on ideas of want to do about this seller. Any body else interested, leave a comment with your real email address and we will contact you for this seller.

    How about this for negative:

FAKE! Digitally altered. Fake! Test! Google SOSFAKEFLASH SEE H2testw 1.4

That should get them to the site to find the testing software. It also fits the 80 char limit.
