Toward A Fake Flash Drive Free World – No More Counterfeits – No More Data Loss

Alert – rise-fly988 – Ebay Fake Flash Seller

Posted by KittyFireFlash on October 19, 2008

rise-fly988 has been identified as an eBay seller of Counterfeit flash drives. This seller is reported as being extremely uncooperative with eBay Buyers. If you have bought a drive from rise-fly988, you are at risk of data loss.

Currently selling four different model listings on eBay, SOSFakeFlash has only one drive investigated on file as of October 16th, 2008. This seller offers a lot of buy now for 16GB at ridiculous prices of 5 Pounds. No one can manufacture or make a profit on a drive that sells for 10 dollars. It costs more than this to manufacture an 8 GB drive!

  • October 17th, 2008 – we have 5 eBay listings confirmed fake.

These are the models sold under the eBay seller rise-fly988 All are confirmed as Counterfeit, recorded with eBayer ID and eBay Item Number – Standard Procedure. Presented as listed at auction. Counterfeit items tied to criminal activity enjoy no protection. If you bought one of these usb fake flash drives from rise-fly988, you should test immediately with the software H2testw 1.4 . Do not store any important data on the drive until you can confirm you have the advertised capacity (minus formatting overhead).
