We hope this list helps you. If you see a seller making his feedback private, he is trying to hide the evidence. When a seller is deregistered he either ran from eBay or eBay has suspended him. Remember, if a seller does this, you can still make a claim at Paypal if you are in the time window!
Fake memory capacity occurs when the chips have been digitally altered to lie about their real size to operating systems. This leads to information loss once the real size of the chip is exceeded. You will not be able to recover it as it was never stored on the chip. Help fight this problem, warn others.
If you don’t see your seller on this list and you have tested (see H2testw 1.4 – Gold Standard In Detecting USB Counterfeit Drives ). Use the Report A Fake tab to send in your information to add to the list. We can’t send out an internet alert without proof to warn the public. If your is on this list but you did not report your fake please do give a more accurate count against a fake flash seller.

SOSFakeFlash also tracks id name changes. Fake flash memory sellers often change their id’s when we publish an alert.
We track these attempts. Our lists usually reflect the “current” name. You can easily verify if the seller tried to do this by looking at your feedback. If you see an id you don’t recognize or is different from the id you purchased from, you have a seller trying to escape victims.
You can help us spot the changes by typing in the old seller name into the search box to find his/her alert. Then add a comment, include the new name. It saves a lot of time and effort for us.

wuzhua8 sent me one 64 GB Pendrive from HongKong.
I checked and was 22Gb and when i repaired, it was 8 Gb 😦 i dont know why, maybe the flash JS29F64G08MAMC1_8GB if ends in 8Gb… but there is no other for 20 gb or even 16

Did you open up the flash drive and confirm part number? JS29F64G08MAMC1_8GB looks like a part number from the repair tool.
JS29F64G08MAMC1 is an Intel part number for a 8Gbit chip = 1GByte.

I am struck by the number of seller ids containing the number ‘168’, sometimes in combination with other numbers (often ‘8’s), or ‘268’, or ’88’.
Is this a signature of the Xu gang?
eg ‘powerlee8816888’ – not yet on the list, but I expect to see him appear soon. (Although I suspect he his about to change his id – he often does after 6 weeks or so – has been ‘wellpower88168’, ‘powerli881688’ and ‘cathy_store’ during the last 15 months)

So you have noticed! The numbers do have significance. It is not related to the Xu Gang. It has to do with chinese culture and superition. As 7 and 11 are considered lucky in the Western World certain numbers are considered lucky in the east.

If people see any of these numbers in an eBay id registered in the orient and the id sells flash memory products, run! Run away as fast as you can!
We need to find a way to HEX them back.

The powersky268’s SDHC card is full working. It has 31.2 GB space. I had problem with this card, because I used camera with just SD card support. When I put card to the slot, camera shown message: Memory is full! Then I tried format card with camera. But it didn’t fix anything. The message was the same. Then I put card to the cards reader in my girlfriends laptop. It shown 3.5 GB space. In ebay I bought SDHC/MMC card reader, today I got it. I put the card in the reader, and the space was same 3.5 GB. Then I opened the case for seller in PayPal. But I am a little bit curious. So I opened GParted, and what I saw: the card had one partition of 3.5 GB and unpartited 30 GB space. So I delete that partition, reformat card and the card is working now. So, powersky268 isn’t bad seller.

This is interesting. powersky268 has been suspended from eBay. What was your bid price? powersky268 also hid most of his memory card sales using private auctions. Usually a very bad sign, not in agreement with eBay intended this kind of action type for.
Strongly advise you test for actual capacity with H2testw. If it is truely 32GB it should pass. Then proceed to test by taking 32GB worth of photos and download to your computer.
Do not close your paypal case, until you can prove you have really 32GB. If you do, you will not be able to reopen it.

Testing with H2testw is very long, because card is slow, but what you want for just $20.50? I don’t have so much time for long testing, so I can’t complete test, but H2testw was uploaded 8 GB of files to the card, so I think, I can upload 32 GB to the card.

Slow? This is normally a very bad sign. However, 32GB is a lot to load and it depends on the speed of the computer and usb ports. Fakes as a rule are slow, VERY VERY slow.
The testing with H2testw must be complete. The objective of the software is to:
1) write 1GB files to the advertised capacity.
2) read the files and verify them to the advertised capacity.
H2testw will write to the real space and the fake space, just as any camera, mp player or computer would. To detect a fake, the key is whether it is possible to read and verify the files.
Remember, a fake is designed to “fool” operating systems and to pretend to have a larger size. Normally you can upload files to the advertised size. But it is not really the files that are uploaded, it is information about the files, not the files. Once the real size is exceeded, there is no place to put the files.
This is why there is so much effort in the FrankenFlash project, Martynas. Too many people lose information. Most forever.
For 20.50 you can not expect to receive 32GB. It is also very difficult to try and restore a memory card to it’s real capacity. We were working on a new article about this for the fixfakeflash site. Unfortunately they need us working here. It is really getting crazy.
It will take a long time, try to run the programme while you sleep. It is worth it to prove to yourself. You will understand why we work so hard when you see the results.

Well, I got scammed with the exact same product from the same seller as mentioned by YaInMuS
Wuzhua8 – 64GB Flash Drive.
It has been about one month or more since the product arrived, but I did not know it was fake until more recently. I exchanged a few meaningless emails with the seller, and then discovered his eBay account has been suspended. I am running H2testw at the moment, but it says 6 hours remaining, so I’m sure it’s fake.
Is there any action I can take to either get a refund or at least make this drive reliable for 8GB?
