On July 4th, 2009 SOSFakeFlash Published: Ebay Fraud! Seller digitalting0303 Evades Justice – Defies eBay – Massive Scam! digitalting0303’s fake flash biography. He is a two time offender.
We are please that eBay has marched him back to fake flash prision. We hope they will keep digitalting0303 and throw away the key. It demonstrates a 3 month suspension will not cure a seller of fake flash selling. The profits are just to addicting.
digitalting0303 in his second round of fake flash selling, used private auctions. It did not make it impossible to catch him, it only took longer and created a many victims.
eBay could easly improve the catching of such fraudsters by not permitting anyone to use private auctions for any flash based items, whether memory cards, mp players, or usb flash drives. It is against the intent for such auctions and sellers like digitalting0303 exploit the flaw. See: eBay Private Auction Listings – eBay Fake Flash Sellers Prefer – Victims Learn The Meaning The Hard Way – A Guide
If you bought any items from digitalting0303 please rush your claim to PayPal. Select five people who bought from this seller in the last 30 days at random, send them a message and warn them. If the item number is private, you know it is a fake flash device! That is your possible contribution to finding this article, warning you.

Kingston DT150 64GB DataTraveler usb flash drive pensticks are being counterfeited – how can you tell? Recently fake Kingston DT150 64GB DataTraveler flash drives began to appear on eBay, it is growing with alarming speed! eBay is not the only place you will find them, they are available at internet wholesaling sites in the orient.
What is the quickest inspection you can do to find out if you bought a counterfeit? Kingston engaves it’s usb connector for the DT150 64GB DataTraveler.

Here are other signs reported by victims when they compare counterfeits to the genuine Kingston DT150 64GB DataTraveler:
1. The main font is slightly (but definitely) different.
2. The actual USB plug is mounted upside down – such that the indicator light (which doesn’t work anyway) is facing downward when the drive is plugged in normally.
3. The lanyard hole is round as opposed the slightly square on the real Kingston.
4. Plastic moulding is poorly finished, with seams and visible.
5. The burgundy coloured outer finish is a very cheap & nasty stick on affair that doesn’t [quite] fit at the edge reliefs.
On a real one the USB connector is engraved and the back of the package has a second Bar Code sticker (see pictures below).
- The counterfeits don’t have a blue light (although there is a spot for it).
- The counterfeits are put together backwards, note on the real one pictured here you can see the copper path through the holes in the USB connector on the counterfeits its black from that side because they are backwards.
- The counterfeit is very light in weight, less half the weight.
- The best way to tell is the size of registered trademark symbol ® after the words DataTraveler on the front side that has 64GB on it, the counterfeit has a very small ®, about the size of one of the small dots on the surface, on a real one its over twice as big ®, see the pictures and compare.
This is the counterfeit and you can see how tiny the registered trademark symbol ® is compared to the genuine drive. Note that counterfeits unlike a genuine drive can come in several different variations.
The other thing that usually distinguishes genuine Kingston Flash drives from counterfeits is the packaging. Look at the back.

Some counterfeits to have serial number information but you can easliy verify see: Kingston USB Flash Drives – Detect Counterfeits And Fakes – Product Verification Kingston can help with their detection site to determine if the Kingston DT150 64GB DataTraveler you bought is genuine.
If you bought a counterfeit (fake) from a seller on eBay please report in to SOSFakeFlash Report A Fake Tab

olynueaq is an eBay seller of Counterfeit (Fake) Flash USB drives. Based in China olynueaq sold 64GB and 128GB usb flash drives. Unlike most fake flash sellers, this one is technologically savvy. He sold over 400+ usb flash drives. Test anything you bought from this seller.
SOSFakeFlash contacted InspectorTech to investigate. A story will be published soon. SOSFakeFlash can only say everyone should consider the program H2testw 1.4 to be used to test for the actual capacity MP Players, Memory cards or usb flash drives by victims and by potential sellers. You are not to trust any screen captures of test results presented by sellers for their items as proof of capacity. InspectorTech will reveal why soon!
olynueaq has earned the distinction of “clever”. Please review the photos of the usb flash drives we have in this article – the models are new.

Evidence is now appearing that Fake Flash Sellers of false capacity MP Players, Memory Cards and USB Flash drives are being removed by eBay. Listings are down. Many sellers based in the Orient have stopped selling – anything. There are still individual listings for known fakes appearing in the United States and United Kingdom. Canada is showing signs of becoming active in offering these items. SOSFakeFlash is not sure if this is a reroute attempt to continue or if it is simply recent acquisition from disreputable wholesalers.
If you have bought any MP Player, Memory Card or USB Flash drive on eBay in the last three months you should test the item immediately for it’s actual capacity against the advertised capacity. Report any false capacity device to SOSFakeFlash without delay – see Report A Fake. You have little time as the evidence trails are disappearing.
